Some may reply;
Eternal life is going to heaven.
Or perhaps;
eternal life is going to hell. But that wouldnt be a good thing, now, would it?
Others, may say eternal life is being bitten by a vampire (Ahem, except that cant happen. This reason isnt plausable, nor is it related in any way at all).
But, strictly speaking, neither of those answers are correct.
If you go on wikipedia, this is the answer you will get;
Immortality (or eternal life) is the concept of living in physical or spiritual form for an infinite length of time or in a state of timelessness.
Dictionary.com? Life without begining or end.
But those arent the answers we're looking for either.
John 17.1-3: After Jesus had spoken these words he looked up to the heaven and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son so given him authority over all people, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
And thats how its done. That is how you can achieve eternal life, in the most literal sense (yeah, seriously. No elixers or unicorn blood needed. -pushes up Harry Potter glasses-). Getting to know Him. In relation to Hikagami's sermon, having a conversation with Him is a way to get to know him. Praying, and all that good stuff.
For that is eternal life.
And it can begin right now.
