my school doesn't have a orchestra really.
only a band.

like to play the national anthem and the school hymn and other things.

Wow, I didn't know it was common for schools not to have orcestras! My school does(though I'm not in it.) I'd say our schools biggest talent is within the music dept. Both within playing instruments and singing. Many of the music dept. recently spent a weekend in D.C. for a competition, I believe they did pretty well.

I used to be in 'orchestra', I played the viola and it rocked asses.... but then I had to quit because .... hmm that was when the school I was at didn't have an orchestra class it was, something you got let out early from regular classes for... because they were stupid... and then one day they stoped telling me when to go and do stuff... it was sad... and I never picked it up in school again...

I never got why people don't like the classical styles of music~ I mean I love teckno, rap, and industrial noise and all... but what is done with classical ,is more often pure emotion and not some dude or chick trying to make a buck or win over fans...

and isnt it the feeling that we get out of music the reason its loved? so... yeah... I just don't get it...

further... while its true the greats of classical were a bit weird in their own right... we don't have the freaks that are spewing out of todays crack-baby-music-industry/cesspool

I know what you mean. I don't like practicing every day for like 3 hours but it's fun sometimes.
My school has contests, I'm usually in it but I always lose.

Wow, I had no clue other schools had orchestras. o.O

My school's pretty small, but we've got a concert band. No strings it in or anything like that though. The school tends to just use us for events and disregard us otherwise, but the actual band members are (generally) pretty dedicated and we're a good band for how little repsect we get from the school itself, I think.

I play the clarinet, and next year I'm going to be the frsit chair. =D
