Hello fellow noob hunter! When studying noobs, it may help to classify noobs under a specific phyla for easier understanding of the noob society. Noobs can be classified under various categories, such as:

Lingo noobs: these noobs tend to use a simplified version of the English language (rox, haxor) and are sometimes hard to understand. These noobs usually don't write out sentences completely and shorten words because they are too lazy to type it out. Furthermore, these tend to be the most common type of noobs found in Gaia. If confronted, ignore them unless you wish to have first hand experience or if they are talking directly to you (which is a good opportunity to study them).

Loud noobs: because of the recent BBC code incident in towns, now noobs write in large fonts and use bright colors to attract attention. These noobs also tend to spam (typing useless junk over and over) to annoy people, which they seem to enjoy. These noobs fall under lingo noobs because they tend to use simplified versions of English as well. If confronted, do not simply ignore them because they might start something. Best thing to do is hide and gather information.

Newbs (Newbies): These are not usually average noobs. Newbs are usually new to games like Gaia, and want to get off to a good start, and may follow rich people around asking for money. If confronted by newbs, you may give them items or money given that you have some, you may simply say "no," or you could give them advice on how to get items or money easily. Remember: newbs are fragile creatures, so they don't like to be insulted or belittled. Beware: sometimes looks can be deceiving, and some people will try to imitate newbs to gain free items or money.

Note: noobs can interbreed and may hold traits true for one phyla as well as another, and maybe more.

If I missed anything, or something is wrong, please post below or PM me (I have a better chance of seeing it if it's a PM).

Thank you for reading and hope this guide helps in your noob investigations!

I-Interbreed!!? O__O Heaven save us. D'X

Thanks for the information. If I encounter any different sub-species of noob, I will post more about it. I have yet to encounter the "Loud noobs". Towns are offline at the moment. =/

I must note, *starts scribbling* noobs have learned to imitate their relatively harmless ilk into asking for gold and items. Will keep that in mind.

Sir, may I ask a question?
What happens if the specimen attempts to interbreed with hunters? D8

Well, remember that noobs are a different species. Although they may ask to cyber as stated in "How to speak with noobs," just say no and return to observing. Although, being near a noob too long may influence your train of thought into becoming more nooblike, visa versa, even though it is very difficult to influence noobs, so be careful to keep your mind in focus.

I like these categories! I'm new to Noob-watching, but I'm a sociology major and may do a study a bit later using your categories (If that's ok). It would be interesting to do a simple random sample based on clustering of the towns grids to find out
A. What percentage of gaians in towns at any random time are noobs
B. What percent of noobs belong to what category in Towns.

Ahem, newbs should not be under the noob part of this, because they are not noobs. If they beg, it depends HOW they beg to consider them a noob, so you have some fixing to do here.

That's a good idea, only noobs usually travel in groups and people tend to avoid them, so it would be hard to take a sample.

You are right, newbs are not of the same species of noobs, but are in the same class simply because they act similarly and have similar appearances. Although newbs can mature into a normal behavior, but some may stay in the noob class.

Point taken. I've gotten a cyber request before.. and it wasn't a pretty sight.. the female had begun being aggressive and then, left me a string of curses in her aftermath..
