They're only thinking about what's happening now. They're just like those teachers who tried to revive the Hawaiian language schools. They succeeded in the end but in the beginning they had it all planned out only to realize once they tried to start it up that they had no money! Say that these people do take back Hawaii from the American government. With things going the way they are now, all of Hawaii will suffer. We'll have no resources to use (like oil and foreign foods) and no resources to trade (since sugar cane and pineapple are nuked). Plus we'd be wide open to attack from an eastern country like Russia or Japan or China and we'd have no protection. I do believe that the American government doesn't have the right to tell the Hawaiian people what they can and cannot do it's just that I feel that it's stupid to sever the ties with America over a bit of sovereignty.
