The World Tree, this incredibly large tree is a well-known landmark here at Mahora, even to the point of having it's own website. This oddly large tree is seen from any spot at Mahora so finding it is no problem at all, it is revered as a somewhat romantic spot and among these all..other strange properties have been noted about the tree... ~~ Steles

~~[Enters from the coffee shop]~~

Sophie enters from the coffee shop. The tree was deserted, just the way she liked it.

Sitting down underneath it on top of a bench, she relieved a sigh and then looked up, "Awful high,"

She shook her head and went into her bag, pulling out a crinkled copy of The Purple Sky and flipping through it quickly, taking out yet another cigarette, and lighting it.

What's that, three today?
So how are them cancer stix...

Coming from no certain direction, Keirin slid out her camera as she stealthily approaches the Tree. Ordinarily, it would be a pleasure to take a picture of it, if only to shove under Haruko's nose, but the presence of someone sitting beneath it not only spoiled the shot, but meant that she'd have to introduce herself.

With an almost visible feline-ear twitch, Keirin walked up to the reader, cautiously. "Ah, mind my asking what you're reading?"

Expecting no reply, Keirin tilted her head, trying to make heads or tails of the cover before smiling. "Segihara Keirin, by the way."

"Yes, actually.... I do mind..."

Sophie didn't even look up, flipping through the pages some more and taking another breath of smoke, "Get lost,"

Fuzzy.

Keirin grinned, shrugging and walking to another bench, where she sat crosslegged and examined the view though the view-finder, pulling out a string of small beads with one hand.

Ocassionally, a finger would slip through both the beads and on the shutter. Here, a picture of a gaggle of girls walking towards what appeared to be the library. There, a group of teachers enjoying the day off by going for coffee off campus. Once, she even turned the camera towards the other girl, though she never took the picture.

All the while, she kept one hand sliding through the beads and humming contentedly to herself.

....

Sophie stared at the very... very odd girl sitting next to her. Looking away with a shrug, she continued to look through her magazine.

"...people at this school really are freaks~"

After a moment, growing bored with both camera and beads, Keirin turned to the other girl, half contemplating, half curious.

"Aa.. One more question, and I promise I will leave you in peace." She bowed a little in her seat. "Would you mind telling me, even with just a flick of that cigarette of yours, where I might.." she trailed off, rubbing the bridge of her nose and sighing. "Where the dorms are?"

Sheepishly, she muttered, "It'll be my luck that it was that building I walked face-first into earlier."

....

"Is she still talking to me...?"

Sophie sighed. She was awful with directions and couldn't speak Japanese well... that probably wouldn't do any help for the girl and she knew if she gave the wrong directions, the girl would come running back.

"...Come." she said simply with a wave of her hand, closing her book and standing up, "I'll show you,"

Keirin followed quietly, smiling broadly, almost skipping. "Thank you," she said softly, sliding the camera and beads back into a pocket.

[enters from Astronomy Tower]

The next place that was on Xeion's list for areas closest to the Starbooks Coffee Shop. He scanned around the terrain as he looked from left to right, looking for the fainest trace of the boy that he had met earlier.

"Where the hell could he have gone to?" He thought to himself as he sat down near the tree as he thought of other places where the boy could've gone to.

After a while, he stopped to take a break as he stared at the large tree in front of him. The world tree, as big as it is, also provided a good, refreshing look at Mahora that could take away almost every worry that one has as long as one stares into its natural beauty. It's a true wonder of nature. He read that little tidbit from a blog posted by the Mahora Walking Club which surprisingly is the number one school club in the college level of Mahora.

"If you care to find your stupid friend so much, then why don't you just hack into the school's main computer profile base to find his dorm? Or maybe teh school's security cameras... those are hackable too..." said in a rather drone voice, Sophie entered seeing the boy from before, still looking for his friend.

"I'd rather not care, but I would like to read and you standing there is really ruining my day."

Xeion turned towards the familiar voice that came from behind him and saw the girl from earlier. She possibly might've grown bored of the previous place or maybe she was annoyed by one of the two other girls with her or maybe she just came there to get a good read. In any case, her reasons for coming there were uncertain but Xeion was willing enough to make a connection with her. It might be a good chance for she might become quite an ally in the near future.

"Yes, I could do that, but unfortunately, being a member of the Mahora Engineering Club myself, club rules state that a club member is not allowed to hack into the academy's mainframe -- cameras, e-ID locators, or the system itself included -- without permission from the club head or anyone of considerable authority or during an emergency situation. Doing so would result in immediate suspension of club membership as well as academic probation of the violator of said club rules."

He turned his head towards the girl and put on a perfect fake smile while he stared into her eyes like a proper conversationalist would although he was the complete opposite of one.

"Also, I am quite tired from all the searching and I think I'd just sit here and rest for a while. I think we've gotten of to a rocky start but I am willing to start from the beginning. You could either refuse or accept my suggestion; either one is fine with me."

Keirin walked past, pulling her glasses out of her pocket for a moment, realizing that once again, she was walking completely the opposite direction of where she wanted to be. She would have continued walking by the Tree, but she heard the biting tone of Sophie's voice and was curious as to who was on the receiving end this time.

"Oh!" Keirin smiled, bouncing over to Sophie, almost purring with every step, feeling infinitely relieved that that pervert with the feline automaton was out of the area. "Sophie-san!"

"...."

Sophie turned her head over to look at Keirin. Her eyes dropped but arose just as quickly, her awful scowl seeming to loosen up a bit. Averting eye contact with X----whatever, she merely looked at the tree with a rather dramatic tone, "My name is Sophie, that's all you will ever need to know. So wipe that fake smile off of your face pretty boy, I was only trying to help... which in your case, is a big deal."

She shook her head, turning to Keirin once more, "Yes, what do you want..."

Keirin smiled broadly and bounced a second more. She shrugged and smiled. "Nothing, Sophie-san."

She darted a few steps away, grinning like a cat who had gotten into the cream, and was considering the prized fish as dessert. "I just wanted to say 'hi.'"
