Pretty decent Gundam series if you're into mechs.
The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor
This was the OVA to "The Guyver: Out of Control" an animated movie based off of the manga by Yoshiki Takaya. "The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor" was released in Japan in 1989 and in the US under the production company US Renditions in 1992. 12 Episodes
Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor
Notice the difference in the spelling of this new "re-make" of "The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor". This series came out in 2005-2006 almost simultaniously in US and Japan. It's 26 episodes long and MAY have a second season (highly doubt it but very possible). I personally like the 12 episode OVA from 1989 better... It had a better opening theme XD.

oh oh! there are new anime series es that came out just this year! and I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THEM!!!
Vampire Knight
- mostly about vampires and It's a very interesting story! you should watch!

FullMetal Alchemist and Yu Yu Hakusho. Both are actually better in the english dub than in the japanese dub. Both of these shows American dubs are done by Funimation, one of the best dubbing groups in America.

- Touru is a guy, that just enrolled in an elite all boys school, but as they are all boys... is it expected to be a lil boring... that's when the "PRINCESSES" are needed... the only problem is... the princesses are guys... beautiful guys

- haven't watched it till the end yet but well it's something like this... the year is 2017, the japan has been invaded by britannia and is robbed of it's name and now japan is "AREA 11" and the people are now called "elevens" and well it's kinda complicated but if you like gundam seed well it's kinda like that thought their gundams... they call it "knightmares" yup yup it's fun! just watch some of it and you might get hooked mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen

Rozen Maiden
un Sakurada is a Junior High School student who refuses to go to school after being traumatized by an embarrassing experience there (see Hikikomori). He has taken to locking himself in his room, never leaving the house, and spends the day ordering supernatural goods online. His older sister, Nori Sakurada, does everything she can to brighten Jun's dreary existence, but is unable to change his situation.
One day, Jun receives a letter claiming he has won a prize. The letter asks whether he will "wind" (まきますか？) or "not wind" (まきませんか？). It states that after he has made his decision, he must place the letter in the drawer of his desk, and a supernatural liaison will take it to the spirit world. Despite his skepticism, he follows these instructions, and discovers soon after that the envelope has vanished. Moments later, he realizes that a richly detailed wood case has materialized within his room. The box contains a strange realistic doll dressed in French aristocratic (synonymous with Gothic Lolita) attire. Jun carefully winds up the doll. The doll creaks, stands up on its own, then proceeds to slap him for handling her as crudely as he had. She introduces herself as, "...Shinku, the fifth doll of the Rozen Maiden."
Shinku is a doll from the unique "Rozen Maiden" collection, and before Jun can fully comprehend the weight of his new situation, a stuffed clown plush doll attacks. Shinku promises that she will save Jun's life, but only if he will vow to serve her. Thus, Jun becomes entrusted with the responsibility of protecting Shinku's "Rosa Mystica" whilst she is engaged in a centuries old fight with the other Rozen Maiden dolls for the title of "Alice."
Shugo Chara
Amu Hinamori is a student at Seiyo Elementary, where she has a reputation for being "cool and spicy"; however, her real personality in that of an extremely shy and easily intimidated girl. One night Amu makes a wish that she would have the courage to be reborn as her "would-be" self. The next morning Amu finds three brightly colored eggs—red, blue, and green—in her bed. Each egg eventually hatches into a Guardian Character: Ran, Miki, and Suu. Guardian Characters are angel-like beings that aid a person into becoming their "would-be" selves and fulfill the person's dreams. The Guardian Characters accomplish this by giving encouragement and advice, but they can also temporarily change a person's personality and abilities. With the Guardian Characters, Amu's life becomes much more complex as she now struggles to deal with her new personalities and the Seiyo Elementary Guardians—a student council group where each member has their own Guardian Character—who recruits Amu to search for and seal the X eggs and X Characters, which are the corrupted forms of people's dreams.

About a boy, his friend/blood brother, a busty beautiful girl with a gun, and two mechs (gunmen) that combine to make one badass mecha. I watched the first five episodes and totally love it. 3nodding From Gainax, the company that gave us Shin Seikei Evangeleon and FLCL.

Elfin Lied-an awesome anime that's also a manga. It's really gory.
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni- also an awesome anime with multiple mangas. Also kind of gory, but pretty suspenseful.
Ouran High School Host Club-the manga's better, but it's still is pretty good. A girl is forced to act as a male host in the school's host club in order to pay off a debt.
.hack//SIGN-Excellent, to put it simply. I cannot describe it.Look it up on Wikipedia if you want an adequate description.
I stink at describing animes, so if any of these seem to interest you, just look them up.
