Considering the stories we all probably have with these guys (the good, the bad, and the just plain awkward), I thought we should have a little thread to talk about experiences with the band. So here it is! Post your stories here!
I'll start by reposting the two that ended up in the "Madina Lake at Bamboozle??" thread. ^_^

Here is the one conversation I had with Matthew from when I met him at Projekt Rev.
Me: Hey. Matt, umm, could you sign my shirt... please? *holds out Madina Lake t-shirt*
Matthew: Yeah. Sure! *tries to sign it using his hand for support and fails* Uh, could I use your shoulder or something? It's kind of hard to write like this.
Me: Yeah. Sure!... You can use... my... shoulder. *looks down in embarrassment in not having offered*
Matthew: *while signing* Thanks for buying the shirt. It helps.
Me: *tries to play it cool, while inside is still teenieing* Oh, no prob! It's... *coolness fails*... a nice design...?
Matthew: *tiny-a** laugh and moves on*
Me: *mentally slaps self* (thinking to self) A nice design?! What the flying f**k was I THINKING? A nice... design... Oh, that was smooth... AND I forgot to ask for a picture with him. Good job...
So yeah. I get freaking tongue-tied and nervous BECAUSE I look up to them. When Matthew said in an interview that he was sick of hearing whiney songs about high school relationships that didn't go someone's way, I got so depressed that I didn't write songs for a WEEK because I thought that my songs weren't good enough then. But I got over it. But I did stop writing about high school relationships 'cause they make for really weak songwriting, I've learned.

That's almost as bad as the first time I met them. Nathan was getting a picture taken with some girl, and the crowd around me moved so I got pushed in front of them. He just looked at me and was like, "Uh, we're trying to take a picture here!" (But I've talked to him a bunch since then, so I guess he forgave me, and/or doesn't remember/care).
I didn't even talk to Mateo that time...I just kinda handed him my CD that he signed and handed back to me. Awkward silence. x_x
But I've been lucky enough to see them a bunch of times since then.
One time, we were driving around the back of the venue trying to find a parking space since the old parking lot had turned into a construction site. We saw Matthew standing outside the back door of the place all by himself, so we stopped the car, jumped out, and ran over to him yelling "Matthew!"
He talked to us for like five minutes, about seeing us at different shows and stuff, and then he introduced himself. Like, shook our hands and told us his name was Matthew. And we're like...yeah, we know.

Oh! Oh! I love stories! whee
Have I told the story of how I gave Mateo his birthday cards? We had to wait FOREVER because they were all hiding backstage. They still didn't show up, and I had to go back to the car to take my medication because we'd waited longer than I thought we would. Just as we got back into the venue, we saw Mateo walking backstage again. So then we had to wait some more. xp But he finally came back out and we gave him the cards. He loved them. One of them was the kind that played music when you opened it, and it was so loud in there that he couldn't hear it unless he pressed it right up against his ear (and we randomly saw him walking around with it up against the side of his head throughout the rest of the night xd ). Later we realized it was almost midnight and we were still an hour away from home on a school night, so we figured we better leave soon. We weren't able to buy anything that night because when we went to the merch table, Mateo appeared at the same time and kept distracting everyone with his cards. "Look! They got me a birthday card!"
It was pretty funny.
