ROUND FOUR: POSTMODERNISM
Lady Glompage

Ignorance is Bliss — A Family's Secret to Success
"Ask a successful, happy-go-lucky, Brady Bunch-er family how they manage to stay so close, and they'll probably say something along the lines of, "We don't keep secrets." See crossdressers, self-mutilators, pregnant teenagers and druggies, and you can assume their family life isn't as 'Brady' as others. That is if their family knew about their flaws. However, if they did keep their secrets to themselves... things could have turned out better, giving a whole new meaning to, "What they don't know can't hurt them." "

Two Roads Diverge...
"I'm trying to portray the idea of Assemblage art which is where the artisit puts together a collage of various things to portray an idea
It comes from Postmodern literature which had the idea of the author of a story only controlling the voice of a single character.
My picture represents one voice [me] who does not know which path to take. The picture is a collage of various paths and places which the one voice does not know which to take. "

Food is Depression
" I kept reading the Postmodern Art on wiki and the line 'Postmodern art holds that all stances are unstable and insincere, and therefore irony, parody, and humor are the only positions that cannot be overturned by critique or revision' stuck with me. So I used irony, because the plates are representing the mood I'm in as I eat, then I need money for the food, and pretty soon I'm depressed. "
ScaredCrow Riots

The Wake Up Call
"the theme I went for was surreality, with bits of timeless pop art in it
The photo is supposed to give the effect my arm is reaching out of one side of the frame into the other"
Eruvanda

The Death of Different
"I chose to represent the postmodern movement of music. Postmodern music often uses pre-recorded clips or old sound recordings in their music. I took an old photo of myself and reworked it, adding a newer flare to show that originality has died. "
Hattey

Postmodern Self
"I'm portraying neo-romantic postmodernism in which truth is found through attaining harmony within the conflicting self. We must understand that there are opposing forces within our selfs and accept them as part of us. "
Twilima

collect yourself
"Well, from what you said, it was suppossed to have a monochromatic scheme, plently of media(since I have a shortage of animals) that makes you think.
The color scheme was suppossed to me me and my bedsheets, but my wall got into it.
The media could be accounting for the wall, and my flower patterns
and how it makes you think; sadly this was extremely difficult.
From this picture I tried to potray calming down after being hectic."
Rainbow Banana Trees

Who me?
"My picture Who me is based on the postmodern gender, pop art! the topic I choose for my picture is different stereotypes. Pop art is used in my picture by the collage like style and that cartoon look, but still life like pictures used. Each picture represents a different stereotype from shy girl to a girl that gets around, if you know what I mean wink ."
