Storm continued to walk down the narrow and over grown path away from the ruined chapel at which they had arrived at minutes ago. Chris kept his eyes open, and his ears alert to notice anything that might cause harm to them before it noticed their presense, or at least give Chris enough time to fend off an attack. Chris also kept a look out for anything he could use as a good staff. How he wished he had his sword and desert eagle pistol with him, not to mention a pair of boots, or at least shoes. Walking lost and bare foot in a forest was not his idea of fun. Chris did his best to keep calm and level headed, especially with having someone else with him. Perhaps he should start up a conversation with the boy and at least find out his name and where he is from. That might also calm his nerves and maybe keep the boy calm and from panicing. "My name is Chris Sanders. What is your name?" Not the most graceful way to start up a conversation, but it will do.

Anthony considered not giving his name. You weren't supposed to with strangers, right? But if they were lost and needed to call somebody, it seemed kinda important to know who to call. At least that was his reasoning. "Anthony. Anthony Watson. Though I live with the Teagues, down on Rochester Lane. Do you think we'll make it back before nightfall?" He wanted to ask the guy why he talked so strangely, but he decided to wait. Asking up front would be rude, and you didn't want to be rude to an adult.

"Nice to meet you Anthony, just too bad it had to be under these circumstances. I couldn't tell you if you will be home by nightfall. THose street names do not sound familiar at all. Do you live in the Orlando, or central Florida area, or perhaps are you on vacation with your family? From your accent, it sounds like you are from the Australia or one of the nearby nations. I am from the Orlando, Florida area of the U.S."
Chris spotted something out of the corner of his eye. "Ah, yes. This will do nicely for a staff." Chris said allowed as he walked over and picked up a thick stick about six feet long. He closely examined it, then pulled out his knief and cut the small twig nubs from the stick to make it a lot more smooth and easier to handle.
I hope we can find someone, something, even just a street before nightfall. It has been a while since I have started a fire with a bow and some sticks.

Anthony shook his head in confusion. "I've never lived in any of those places. I've only left Wellington once or twice, and that was t'go campin' in the mountains." Puzzled, he continued to listen to the taller man. "Watchyou doin' all the way out here, then? All we have here is sheep and more sheep." He was kind of wary when the man took out the big stick and knife. "I don't - I don't think that would fit in someone's car boot." Sure, Anthony loved playing with sticks, but bein' lost was not the time for it.

Chris stood back up after getting the stick all cleaned off, and put his knife back into the sheath. He continued walking down the path keeping an eye open for other paths, roads, rivers, anything he could use to help navigate to somewhere with some people around. "Haven't heard of Wellington before. What part of the world are you from? I'm from the United States, and as for being out here, I am not entirely sure. I went to sleep in my bed to take a nap and awoke in that ruined church building back there." Chris sighed hoping that he was close to a city or town not far from his home.

"Well, New Zealand, DUH!" For a tourist this guy seemed a little silly. If Anthony'd said he'd never traveled, obviously that meant he was still here. "What, you just boarded a plane going anywhere? That's rather silly, isn't it?" There were plenty of tourists getting lost every year, but this is the first one Anthony'd heard of who forgot where he was actually vacationing.
Either way, this was turning out to be quite the adventure.

"In that case, we are both, far, far, away from home, for I have never been to New Zealand, and I venture to guess that these woods do not look like anything you have seen around your home. From the looks of these woods, I would say North American or European." Chris grumbled, why did bad crap seem to happen around him all the time. He couldn't believe he had been caught off guard with how light of sleeper he is, along with his training. He should of heard anyone entering the house, especially how squeaky the doors are. Now he was stuck out in the middle of no where with someone's kid who is from the other side of the world, 14 time zones away.
Chris just had this bad feeling that they weren't going to find any towns, much less cities anytime soon. There were just no signs of any. No power lines, no roads thus far, no aircraft flying overhead, no noises of traffic, just the sounds of the forest.

"Wait, huh?" Anthony looked around. Chris had a point. The trees did look kind of funny, and everything was wet, not dry. "Yeah, things seem weird, I guess." He scratched his head. It still hurt, a little. The overcast sky seemed a little odd, too. "As in, we'kin just keep goin' 'til we hit the ocean, right? Obviously we have to end at SOME point." Worry had a strange way of creeping in on him, though. Doubt was starting to nag.

Chris stopped for a moment and turned to Anthony. "Don't worry too much. I doubt we'll hit the ocean anytime soon. There is no smell of salt in the air, nor the roar of the ocean waves. Most likely I'll find a road, hopefully a paved road, and I can flag down a passer by for some help, and maybe a ride to the nearest town or city. If it gets dark, I'll just build a fire. Had survival training in the Navy and Marines. For now we just have to keep walking down this path. It has to lead to some with people, for someone had to make it." At least Chris had hoped that was the case. The path looked long out of use, hopefully only several months out of use, and not many years. "What was the last thing you were doing before you ended up at that old church? Myself, I was taking a nap on my bed. Just got back from being out with a couple friends. One of them talked me into getting these two earrings, kind of odd since I really wasn't much for jewelry, even odder that I ended up here not even two hours afterwards. Started off as a good day. Went out, had fun, ate lunch and dinner, saw a movie, got in some sword practice, and now this. Kind of a crappy end to a nice day, and why does it seem earlier than when I went to sleep?" A worried look appeared on Chris's face, he hoped that he was just out longer than he thought he was. Most likely he ended up in a totally different part of the world, just like Anthony did. It was not looking good at all, for all he knew, they could be in the middle of the vast wilderness of Canada, and weeks of walking away from anywhere. Hopefully they ended up in Oregan or some place in Europe, and not too far from civilization.

"Sounds like a plan, I guess. 'N I didn't have any survival training, unless you count fifth grade." Anthony didn't really know what to say in response to offers of resourcefulness. At least Chris asked him questions that he COULD answer, though. "Naw, it was after school. I'd forgotten my anklet and went to go back and get it. I started feeling woozy on the way back and then there you were." He pondered a moment, trying to recall the exact details. "Waitaminute! I have my watch!" Pulling it out of his zippered pocket, he read it, but it didn't make sense. So he flipped it upside down so all the digits and letters were the right side up. "4:53, see?"

"Yep, wrong time for this area. More like 1500." Chris continued walking on for what seemed like a very long time. The two continued talking as he looked for signs of a road, or a river, something to tell him that he was on the right track.
The sun started to set, and Chris looked for a good spot off the path to make camp for the evening. He gathered some dry wood and moss, then dug a small pit, and surrounded it with whatever rocks he could find. He tried for about fifteen minutes until he finally got the fire going. I gathered a couple good sized and straight sticks and sat down to sharpen the points into a couple spears.
Chris demostrated to Anthony how to use one of the spears. I'm giving you this in case we are attacked by some animal. You hold the spear like this, and your thrust for a vital location, like the head, neck, or chest. Please do not, do not accidentally stab a person, unless they are trying to cause harm to us. Do you understand?" Chris handed Anthony one of the spears he had made. He sat down with his back against the tree, watching over the fire, and watching out for anything that may come this way. "Now you lay down and get some sleep. We have some more walking to do in the morning. I'll sit up and stand watch for a little while.

Anthony took the speak delicately in his hands. As much as he played and horsed around and had fun, he understood tools; the Teagues'd seen to that. He used to play around with hoes and rakes, but they... convinced him otherwise. Spending a week of your summer gardening wasn't what he had in mind. Turning the spear over in his hands, he learned the weight of it. He didn't want to fumble it when it came time to actually use it.
He rather sobred at the thought that Chris thought someone COULD have the intent to harm them. The only time it was even considered was usually in games. He didn't have much to say after that. At the older man's insistence, he headed off to sleep, trying to convince himself he was camping. It didn't help much.

Yes, Ironwood was filled with animals, vicious animals. Ones that would rend the flesh from the bones of mortal men in seconds, or thats probably what the villagers said when they wanted to frighten small children. But that wasn't some Alex knew.
The pilot was out and about, exploring his new surroundings once more. His eyes looked around, as he kneeled atop a fallen tree trunk. Oh sure, it was getting darker, but that didn't mean he couldn't still be on the look out for... things. That bothered him, as his instincts told him that hunting at dusk was a perfect time to hunt.
It was a rabbit scurrying amongst the leaves that caught his attention, and without even thinking, he sprang from his spot, and started to give chase to the long eared rodent. He wasn't armed with anything but his tiny hand claws, but his mind was focused on the rabbit, as it darted back and forth.
After about a minute of chasing back and forth after the rabbit, its movements causing the pilot to have to bob and weave around trees and bushes, a flicker of flame caught the corner of his eyes, a nearby camp fire. Instincts were prompted kicked to the curb, as his rational mind realized Fire = People.
Unfortunately, having had his attention pulled so dramatically away from the chase with the rabbit, he found himself running headlong into a big bush, with something of a large crash of snapping branches and rustling leaves, while the rabbit hopped away victorious.
To Chris and Anthony, they probably heard the rather unpleasant sounding crash, as well a possible rustling from one of the bushes off in the woods.
Poor Alex lay on his back, staring up at the sky and trees, pieces of sticks and leaves having clung to his jacket and stuck in his hair and feathers. His tail twitched annoyingly under him, and about the only comment he could make was a muttered "oww".

Storm awoke from his half asleep state and quickly jumped to his feet. Something, or someone was here. He picked up his make shift spear and told Anthony to wait here and stay hidden in a low voice. Chris then carefully approached the source of the noise. Halt and indentify yourself! He said in a firm and serious tone of voice, challanging whoever it might be. Chris moved in closer, being vigilant hoping the intruder was human, and non-hostile. Once Chris got close enough, he saw a man laying on his back. Who might you be Sir? He kept his guard and awareness up just in case, he didn't want to be caught off guard and have something else bad happen to him again.

Anthony had been just drifting off to sleep finally when commotion happened. There was a noise and Chris telling him to be quiet and Chris talking to someone or something he couldn't see... Anthony didn't know what to do. He unblurred his vision and skittered and hid slightly behind a tree, though not very well. He tried to cup his ear so that he could hear better, but everything was still muffled. Where was Anny anyway? Anthony hadn't seen her around all day.
