"Estaroth your sure we aren't getting too far from the castle?" Akki worriedly asked while following the grey and purple goyal around another clump of trees.
"Yes Akki...for the tenth time." Estaroth irritably responded to the feyblood that was his caretaker. He paused to sweep a claw through his silver hair while waiting for the smaller Akki to catch up.
"I just want to be sure. Thats all Estaroth..." Akki explained...again. Estaroth gave Akki a slightly frustrated frown.
"Akki, you have been nothing but cowardly since we entered the forest. If you'd stop barraging me with all this nonsense we'd find what I was looking for and we'd be returning by now."
Akki bent his head with a faint blush to his cheeks. "I just think it's silly....it's dangerouse out here. And yout going through all this trouble just for flowers?"
Estaroth cut a claw through the air, forcing Akki to quiet himself before he went any further. "Nothing is going to get us this close to the castle. You need to stop being such a coward Akki. It was cute when I was younger but now it is getting to be troublesome."

Almost as if drawn to the possibility of causing trouble Aldric followed behind Estaroth and Akki. He didn't care much for that of the non-goyal, but it must have been the goyal's human or whatever he was.
The god followed along, an ear barely sticking out of the shadows to listen to their conversation. How boring it was to him. Hardly worth his time really.. But as if they called for it a thorned vine shot from the shadows and wrapped around Estaroth's ankle.
"Do not think there is not trouble so close to your beloved castle. The gods will play with those foolish goyals." Aldric seemed to growl as he spoke. In reality his vocal cords were having a rough day and he couldn't speak well.

"I'm sorry Estaroth. I can't help but worry." Akki apologized as he gingerly stepped over a fallen sapling. Estaroth's response was a agitated snap of his tail and a grumble.
"Why is it I keep you around again Akki?" He began to turn, one claw resting upon a hip that he jutted off to the side. However, any further words were forgotten as something prickly snapped about his ankle. With surprise, Estaroth looked down, his cyan eyes a little wide. "Ah?Uh!?" It was with more surprise that he heard the bodiless voice.
Though Akki was a little jittery being outside the castle, he did not immediatly bolt when he heard Estaroth's surprised sounds. Rather he took a step closer to the ensnared goyal. "What? What is...who is...?" He had intended to ask what was wrong, but he heard the voice as well as Estaroth.

Coming out of the shadows Aldric lifted Estaroth up by the ankle. "You are surprised aren't you?" The rotting goyal once more growled, lifting the 'pretty' one to eye level. "Fear those who are more powerful than you." Aldric's voice seemed near that of a dull roar from the vocal cord issues. Soon though he would have his fun with this male, and perhaps the one that came with him. What point was there in coming out of his shadows if he didn't gain something from it?

Estaroth was lifted from the ground by his ankle. His hair and pretty little accessories dangled downwards as he flailed his arms a little helplessly. Such a thing as a vine tipping him upside down was not something he had been expecting to happen. He could even feel the thorns from the vine biting deep into the skin of his ankle. While Estaroth would have normally thrown a fit to be released, it was nearly impossible for him to even manage a offended snarl when he found himself facing the eerie speaker.
Surprise was hardly the only emotion on Estaroths face. Fear? Oh yes, the young gargoyual male was most definatly afraid. Aldric posed a very terrifying vision, even to one viewing the world upside down. "Ak-Akki Do something..." He managed to finally choke out. Ye darkness! His heart was pounding so quickly in his chest he thought it would jump right out!
Akki wasn't in a much better state then Estaroth though. Looking upon a half rotted creature that had just seemed to step out of nowhere was not exactly something a person could just brush off. Though it was Akki's task to help look out for Estaroth, he did not think this was something he would be much help in. "Do something? Like Wh-what!?" was Akki's bewildered reply.
"Please...I...I never meant...any offense..." Estaroth fought to keep from stuttering too much as he spoke. His claws lifted before him in a futile gesture. "We are only out looking for...some flowers for my room..that is all..."

"You offended none." He spoke as soft as he could with the raspy voice. Though easily able to strike fear into goyals he was still kind, to those he deemed fit to be kind to that is. As if reaction to Akki speaking Aldric shot one of his vines out towards the caretaker. No, he was not going to interfere with his chance for a new follower.
"You will stay there." The halloween god said with a glare directed at Akki. The vine was wrapping around his ankle as it had already wrapped itself around a tree branch. He would make sure that no one could interfere with this. It was important business to him.
"What is your name Goyal." Rotting lips peeled back as he spoke. A rotten tongue was revealed as well. To think that he could talk in such a rotten state, it was impossible to any goyal but him and the ones he cursed. And that rotten set of children. He would have to get back at them for those brats, but that was a different story entirely. This was something more important for the time.

"Gah!" Akki's response was something that could have been expected. having a thorny vine wrapping around your ankle was not exactly a experience that was comforting. The glare of the God was...numbing. It certainly made Akki feel timid. Well, more timid then he normally was. Once Aldric's attention returned to Estaroth though, Akki dropped to a knee and began to tug at the vine with his fingers in an attempt to loosen it. It wasn't as if he thought he could accomplish anything, but doing something was better then nothing at all...
Estaroth on the other hand felt it made better sense not to try and flail about or kick his legs to be free. The thorns could do some damage tohis leg, and the frightening visage looming before him convinced him quite quickly that he was dealing with something so far beyond him it absolutly was worthless to really struggle.
"I...am Estaroth." He felt relief that he was no longer stammering, and there was no shake in his voice. Though he did rather wish he could lean away from the ugly and rotted presence of the God. Estaroth really did not care for ugly things after all...

The vine around Akki's ankle tightened and pulled him up the branch, tying itself off Aldric sliced the vine with a sharpened claw. "Do not try it." he growled at Akki.
Once more he returned his attention to Estaroth. This one showed a bit of potential if he was able to stop stuttering so quickly at the abrupt sight of a rotting god. "Estaroth? Horrid name." He chuckled a bit, setting him back on the ground. "You were searching for flowers? For a lady or are you gay?" The god tilted his head. A rotting ear flicked a bit, listening to the 'pretty' boy.
Whatever Estaroth was it would surely be an interesting outcome. Gay men seemed to hold an interest as he could not conceive how they would be able to love one another. Though if he had a woman it would be a chance at another follower for him. Aldric did so enjoy gathering the followers. It was even better when they brought more to pledge to him. Whatever the case Aldric would be amused, and at the moment that was all that mattered.

Akki was -not- happy with being dragged into the tree. His purple eyes flicked up to his bound ankle, then to the rotting goyal that was currently asking questions of Estaroth. Still, he kept his mouth shut, his lips pressed quite firmly shut to keep the little whimpers from escaping. he was still scared, and he was not feeling any sort of comfort with the treatment he was currently recieving.
Estaroth however was calming down and regaining more control of himself. Even if the other goyal was the most vile and ugly thing he'd ever seen...it wasn't as if his 'ughly' could rub off on him after all. Once he was back on his feet, Estaroth gingely lifted his ankle to quickly inspect the skin where the vine had wrapped. He bit his tounge to keep from making a sour comment about the other goyal having no right at all to tell him his name was 'horrid' when he had a appearance as he did.
"I happen to find my name rather unique." He instead replied. "And the flowers are for me. Or rather my room. I wouldn't waste time or effort getting a female anything. The fact I'd even pay attention to one should be gift enough for her." He'd edge around the 'gay' comment...though a small snicker from the currently hanging Akki would cause him to send a faintly warning glare up at the feyblood.

In response Aldric's recently improved shadow melding abilities removed Akki's lips and tongue. Of course there was no bleeding and he would put them back when he was done, but for now he would leave them hiding.
"So then you are a vain gay man." The god chuckled, crossing his arms. "You seem to have potential Fruit." Insults, not the best technique but they would do for tonight as he had not much else to do.
"If you do not like the insults you should be wary of where you walk. The gods are watching you." A sly smirk from his own rotten lips, which had curled back as he spoke to reveal yellowed teeth that seemed chipped from his many years as stone. "That being said, what is your goal in your pathetic life?"

Silence came from Akki, and not because of his own choice. From above in the tree the hanging feyblood was freaking a bit over his vanished mouth and tongue.
From below Estaroth more or less ignored the distressed caretaker. He had other things to focus on. The insult he recieved he could only respond to with a agitated snap of his tail. He crossed his arms over his chest, his claws curling into his arms as a physical display of indignance.
"I am only as vain as I have a right to be. I am lovely, and I deserve to have the attention of a pretty thing. If not a little more." It was a second time the ugly goyal had mentioned Gods, and judging by the powers it possessed, as well as it's decayed state, Estaroth had a nasty feeling somehow he had blundered into the path of one.
"Well if watching were all these gods were going to do then i don't think i would need to be too worried, don't you? It's the ones that actually do something that one ought to be more ...aware...of." Ugh...his vile looks made Estaroth want to creep away. Instead though he kept himself from embaressing himself and bolting.
Gently fanning his wings behind him, Estaorth tilted his head to look at the teardrop shaped earrings decorating his wings. "Goal? Hnnnn... Goals are terribly hard to plan out. I prefer a pursuit of Desires over goals. Desires can be far more motivating and easier to obtain. My personal desires are to collect a nice set of pretty goyals to adore me...and maybe a castle fare more lovely and suitable for me to live in rather then that dreary place." Estaroth turned and gave a little flick of his claw towards the castle he and Akki had come from.

This vain goyal just may have been dull enough to accept his offer. "You should not do so without the use of power. While Halloween is scary it also offers great beauty and by far more rewards than that of the winter or the hunter." He spoke calmly, his voice seemingly that of a normal goyal's for the time.
Slowly Aldric pulled something out of his unzipped pants, twirling it between his enlarged claws. "The goddess of the hunt offers you little to do with beauty. The god of winter offers the cold. The god of the sun offers you a chance to become stone. While I, the god of halloween, offer both the power to scare as well as the power to attract with beauty." the object was twirling faster as he spoke. What was it? But a mere stick to the naked eye. Within held a writing utensil and a sheet of paper with an agreement to follow him and no other. A contract you could call it.
"Whom do you choose?"

Estaroth watched Alderic as he pulled something from his pants. His cyan eyes narrowed just a little in suspicion. He was not altogether certain just what this other Goyal was after here. It wasn't too hard for him to suspect and accept that this other was a God...and with the rundown of the others, and the obviousness of which one he was...well...Estaroth had to take a step back to think. Whom did he choose? It was rather hard to believe that the halloween God could honestly offer him anything to do with beauty.
From above Akki had been watching and listening. his head began to shake back and forth quickly and he waved his hands to try and catch Estaroths attention. he couldn't say no or tell the other this was a bad idea...besides...much to his frustration Estaroth was going out of his way to ignore him.
"Just what exactly would be granted to me? I'm not one to put much faith in vauge promises. How do I know for certain I won't just end up looking...creepy..and have my looks eventually ruined if I were to choose you?" Estaroth asked.

This goyal truly was vain. Nor did he seem to have heard much about the gods and their work. "Looks are changed upon a curse. Curses occur but one night of the year when my power is the strongest." His sharpest claw, his thumb, was running down the center of the wooden casing, clicking it open just barely.
"None that choose to follow the god of halloween have changed their looks. If anything at all, they have become more important and thusly been able to attract more goyals for whatever purposes." He explained, a vine shooting towards Akki's arms, a glare shot directly at him as it did so.
"Do not attempt it. I warned you already and it will get far worse on your third offense." The vine he had wrapped around Akki had thorns and was making sure to cut into the skin for the offense. He may have been kind to goyals but no such luck for their care takers. Even Ropin had felt his wrath at times.
"Estaroth.. Whom do you choose?"

The p***k of the thorns was a mild warning in compare to what could be done. That Akki knew without a doubt. He did not like the sound or the looks of this God goyal, and though he desperatly wanted to tell Estaroth this was just bad bad bad... He got the feeling his Goyal knew how he felt, and was choosing to merely ignore him. Since Estaroth had hit his teens he had been increasingly more difficult to deal with. Today was simply no different then any other day. With a little soundless sigh Akki let himslf go limp to dangle uselessly until he was let back down.
Estaroth was in fact ignoring Akki. His caretaker had ceased being a knowledgeable guide once Estaroth decided to start making descions himself. Now he was mentally chewing over the Gods offer. While it was reassuring he would not lose his pretty features, the possibility of what he could gain was a bit more important now. Estaroth had never thought to pay any mind to the tales of the Gods...mostly because as far as he had known the Gods wouldn't have ever actually done anything for him. Now though...
He lightly toyed with one of his earrings, his head tilting slightly to one side. It did not sound like too bad of a deal... "Hnnn... I suppose serving you would not be too much of a bother. It's not like I have anything better to do with my time...what would you need me to do? I should at least know that before commiting myself." A god whose power was only greatest one night was not a very powerful god...but he did not have to be very powerful if serving him would feed Estaroths shallow desires...
