I decided to write out a storyline about my assassin character Ventro. I didn't want him to fall into disuse, since I don't have him in any rp's right now. So here it is. I'm going to set this in Elibe, since its the continent I know the best.

Ventro sat at the bar in a small, obscure tavern in Araphen. The assassin, now 27, was in semi-retirement. He hadn't done a real job in about three years, and was living off of the massive amount of gold he earned a few years ago for taking out a prince in Ilia. He emptied his glass of beer, looking around for the bartender, who he knew well. "Cardin! Fill me up." Ventro placed a gold coin on the counter. Cardin the bartender filled his order. Ventro drank the beer slowly, completely unprepared for what happened next. A somewhat disheveled looking man with ragged, mid-length black hair walked into the pub and seated himself at the bar next to Ventro. The assassin studied the newcomer for a second, then did a double take as he discerned the man's identity. "I'll be damned! Rajaion!" The black Goldoan dragon smiled. "Long time no see, Ventro. When I arrived, I heard in town that you liked to hang out here. So I thought I'd pay you a visit. How've things been?" The two old friends sat down. Ventro yelled, "Cardin! Just pour a pitcher for me and my friend here." The bartender obliged, shaking his head. Ventro had never been one to drink in small quantities. The dragon and the assassin sat and caught up on what had happened since they last saw each other three years earlier on a different continent.

Ventro was about to reach for more beer as he and Rajaion talked it up. Suddenly, a large waterdrop fell on his face.

The peaceful tavern scene disappeared. The assassin awoke to find himself laying on the floor of a damp dungeon cell. Water from the ceiling had dripped onto his face, waking him. The cell was just the same as it had been for the past 3 months. The conversation at the bar with Rajaion had occurred about 2 years ago. Now, the assassin sat in a Caelin jail, barely subsisting on prison rations. Of course, that was what he got for accepting a job to assassinate the heir to the Caelin throne, young Prince Hadrian. Ventro had botched the job, got himself caught, and landed himself in a dungeon. However, the assassin was merely biding his time. He had managed to conceal a small utility dagger in the inner folds of his shirt.

Today was the day. Ventro had waited long enough. The guards hardly bothered to check on him anymore, assuming that he was a resigned prisoner. Ventro drew out his dagger. Maneuvering his hands through the bars, Ventro jiggled the dagger in the lock on his cell door. The lock was old, and opened easily. The assassin was free. Its time to escape from this wretched castle.

Been a while!

As Ventro exited the cell, a guard ran up to him, menacing him with a spear. Ventro sighed, ducked under the guard's weapon, and killed him swiftly. Now...to find my good clothes. Ventro snuck through the halls of the castle until he found the armory. As expected, his black traveling coat was hanging on a peg. He checked the pockets and was pleased to find all his daggers still there. Donning the coat, the assassin kept to the shadows, and snuck out of Caelin Keep into the town.

Using his considerable skill as an assassin, Ventro moved through the crowds in Caelin virtually unnoticed, as if invisible. Without magic, true invisibility was impossible, but Ventro had a way of moving and certain body language that makes one less noticeable. Once it's been discovered that I've escaped, I'll be the most wanted man in Caelin...time to get out of here. Moving past the guards as if he was an ordinary pilgrim, the assassin left the city, moving west towards Bern. An assassin could always find work amongst the Black Fang...

Ventro moved silently through a small grove of trees as he traveled west. Dusk had long since fallen, and in the gloomy half-light, the assassin could barely see ten feet in front of him. His mind began to wander until he noticed a faint glow up ahead. Drawing closer, Ventro determined that it was unmistakably a campfire. The sound of a woman's soft humming floated through the thick night air as he neared the fire. Closing the distance to the camp, the assassin saw a woman of about 25 sitting on a tree stump near a blazing campfire. She was dressed in commoner's clothes and polishing a bow. Something bothered Ventro about the scene, though, and he couldn't identify it until he took a closer look at the bow. It was made of high quality cherry wood, and inlaid patterns of gold and ivory. Obviously no commoner would own that, unless it was stolen. So here we have either a thief, or a noblewoman who wishes to not to show her nobility. Either way, she probably has a lot of money on her. Ventro stalked his way into the camp, silent as a wraith, approaching the woman from behind. Everything was going according to plan, until the assassin stepped on a small twig. The woman whirled around quickly drawing an arrow to her bow and fired on him. Making use of his extraordinary reflexes, Ventro caught the arrow several inches away from his face. Holding his hands up as a gesture of peace, Ventro advanced slowly. "Please, ma'am, i mean you no harm. I am merely a traveler on my way to Bern. I just saw your campfire and came to investigate." The woman's expression softened. "My apologies. I am Ka....Kitty. I'm...just out hunting for my family's dinner." The assassin gave a snort of derision and moved to the other side of the campfire. "My name is Ventro, but if your name is really Kitty, and you're actually out hunting, I'll eat that tree stump you were sitting on."
