So I have t admit the only game sequel I'm familiar with is Diablo II, which I'm learning to play right now. Other than that I'm not much of a gamer...yet wink . However I do know some sequels far surpass the original while others really flop (just like in movies and books, I guess).

I haven't played either of them, but I've heard that Earthbound II didn't do so hot... My friends back at Job Corps always said that whenever a sequel doesn't do well, you should call it "(Game Title Here) II: The Electric Boogaloo!" lol

I really kind of like Street Fighter II. The anime at least was interesting. I like to play as Chun Li, though Ryu is great. I've heard Half Life II is pretty good, also. There's always stuff being said about Final Fantasy. VII, of course, is the best for a lot of people, but a friend of mine really likes X. Apparently it did well enough to have a sequel for the sequel, X-II (not 12, but 10-2).

Boooooooo!...um, no offense. btw the StreetFighter movie? epic fail, and I think that the Final Fantasy movie Advent Children was just the game but without the limited interaction and the ability to brag about reaching the end of it.
I think sequels should be reserved to games with loose ends like:
Assassins Creed: Whats up with his clansmen that died? whats up with the hieroglyphics in the end? what happens to the assassin guy!?
Ico/Shadow of the Colossus:....yeah I understand where the horned kid comes from...but where did the colossus come from? what happens to the original and 'evil' colossus?
Okami: She goes into Space!? wtf!? that alone demands explanation.
Republic Commando: Yay! a star wars game that doesn't have star wars in the title AND doesn't have Jedi and/or a corny love interest! Keep that coming Lucas!
Psychonauts: Its an old game, but the game was just too amazing to leave off as something to be admired and recognized only by cults.
hmmm...I'll be back after remembering all the other amazing games that need sequels question

Well, sometimes sequals of the first games end up being superior.
I have some favorite games that are sequals tot the firsts.
Mega Man 2 (NES): Everybody goes crazy over this Mega Man game, it is know as the BEST of the 6 NES Mega Man games, and the BEST one ever made. For me, it is a great game of Mega Man, but sometimes I think it's too overrated, but still great... if you have your NES or own a Wii... play it.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Sega Genesis): To me, this is the best Sonic game, even though it's about 14 years old... it was released in 1994. This Sonic game didn't sell as well as Sonic 2, but to me, it's better than Sonic 2. One really cool and interesting thing in this game... was the music was composed by Michael Jackson and his team... I'm not joking, it's real. It's still a great game though.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time (SNES): the best Beat Em' Up and Ninja Turtles game... EVER. The Super Nintendo version is what I'm referring too, it's better than the Arcade version.
Contra III: The Alien Wars (SNES): a great Run and Gun game for both Solo and 2 Player Co-Op.
There are so many sequals and prequals to the Castlevania games, they don't really follow chronologically... but my favorite of the series that IS a sequal...
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (Nintendo DS), the sequal to "Aria of Sorrow" (GBA). A game with great RPG and Platforming elements.

I find that there should be a sequel and a prequel to Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure, in the prequel it would be about how Hyperbolic( the grandfather of Parin the heroine of Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure) came to the Monster world, battled, and sealed Tokaron the cursed dragon. At the ending of the prequel game it could show how Cylinder blew up the forest which led to Puku finding the bracelet of the Phantom Prince and his plans for revenge. The sequel to the game could be about Black Bean regaining his memories( he could be the main evil boss) returning to the Phantom Kingdom and it's up to Parin to travel to the kingdom to battle him or even better her granddaughter is the chosen one to wield the Legendary Drill.

I say that there should be a sequel to Einhander (I THINK that's how it's spelled), a side-scrolling shooter for the PS1; preferably a 3D one, maybe, but it might not work.

Here's another game that should have a sequel.....CHRONO TRIGGER, I KNOW that there already a sequel to Chrono Trigger and that it's Chrono Cross. But it would be interesting to see Chrono and the gang having to take up their weapons to save the world in the past, present, and future once again. I've always wondered what happened to Dalton after you defeated him on the Epoch, because as far as everyone knows he gets sucked in a vortex, and let's not forget Chrono's mother when Chrono, Lucca( who should have been the one to kiss Glenn/Frog when they were saying goodbye), and Marle( who shouldn't have kissed Glenn/Frog when they were saying goodbye) their goodbyes, the cat jumps into the gate, and after saying how the person in charge of feeding the cat is gone( like she couldn't feed the cat when her son was saving the world?) jumps into the gate as well.

I remember saying this idea before, but I think that Medal of Honor should continue the series in a new direction.
IT can be called: The Iron Cross. It should be about a German soldier and his experience across the world. The game should teach the audience about Germanies traditions, culture, and their political chaos. Since today all WWII games come from many points of view such as Americans in France, Russians in Russia and English in Africa, but it is true that some German units have seen action in every major front and then some. It should be about a mans struggle with the different kinds of enemies and their mind sets (American soldiers were more 'merciless' then British) his struggle with war atrocities, his countries dangerous government, hitlers madness, and the worlds hate.

Another sequel for a game should be A Witch's Tale for the Nintendo DS which would have the answers from the first game such as... Why did Alice deny the Eld Witch's daughters reincarnation rights? Was the first ending a dream within a dream? Is Liddell really the new Alice? and the final question... Why did Liddell's mother abandoned her that very night?
