I don't know if we even have enough members for this (and it requires those members to have an understanding of English phonetics or access to a microphone, LOL!), but something I found interesting upon first visiting the EU, was how differently Euro and Europe is pronounced in different languages. For example, in German it's "Oy-roh" and "Oy-roh-puh*", whilst in Dutch it's... harder to describe. "Urr-roh", sorta, but that doesn't catch it.. the "Eu" sound in Dutch is... really difficult to describe, for me anyway.


*Has a short "u" sound as in "up", not a long "u".

Swedes tend to say "Ev-ro-pa" for "Europa" which is the Swedish form of "Europe" and "Ev-ro" for Euro. confused Except when using English... for some odd reason.
