Good evening, everybody.
It occurred to me this evening that we have a problem regarding Pactios. Namely that there are two systems of Pactio:
1. The Pactio from Negima! whereby the partner gains superhuman abilities (speed, strength, etc) for a set time and an artifact (Sword, Book, Dangerous Paper Fan, etc) that they can summon at will.
2. The Pactio from Negima!? whereby the partner gains three transformations - namely Armour, Cosplay, and Suka, which is chosen at random. If you don't know about the cards, just look up some Negima?! episodes and you'll soon find them. The changes in the characters abilities, clothing and equipment vary according to their usual skills and the card chosen. After a set amount of time, the character reverts to normal, and is very hungry.
So, here is the problem. Multiple systems.
I have come up with a solution that could lead to some relief.
Well, two solutions, to be exact.
1. The Wizards chose the type of Pactio that they use.
2. The Partners can summon their artifact when on their own, but can use a transformation card if the wizard is near enough to do so.
I was instructed to post this here in order to find out people's opinions.
That is all.

I do like your idea on the pactio systems. If fact, I had the same concern. I talked to Fox, and we decided we would make our own system. Mages and the like shall have special rings, necklaces, and other accessories that will let them create a pactio at any time they wish, without a familiar like Chamo.
As for what powers, we will use the traditional Negima! pactio system, plus powers and a artifact, that way we can remain true to the basic story, seeing as we are using Negima! as our base.
Please PM me if you want to know more details, or discuss anything. I would love to hear from you.
BTW: Who instructed you?

It was Foxgin who instructed me to post this here.
I thought that, seeing as roleplays can't float along on a cushion of fanservice in the same way that a manga or anime could, fighting skills would be more essential.
And as Wikipedia says about Negima!?:Quote: Negima!? focuses more on magical battles and comedy and less on fanservice.
That is all.

Hmm... That is a good point.
How about we make our own system then. No one over the other, no mix, just our own system.

But if we make it up from scratch, that would mean that nobody is experienced in the system in any way, shape or form, and anyone playing a wizard would have to effectively be tutored into pactios.
Combining two systems would ensure that it isn't completely new, and we would be remaining more faithful to the series; both of them.
That is all.

Yes, but a lot of members are not familiar with the Neo Pactio system either. And there is no fair way to decide what form you change into, without being bias.

Is that so?
I am afraid that I disagree with you.
Never talk to a Dungeons and Dragons player about the possibility of bias when dice are available.
1d6 can be used to easily decide the form. 1 and 2 = Suka Form 3 and 4 = Cosplay Form 5 and 6 = Armour Form
Amendment: As you can see, in this case, I have ended up with the Suka form. I see no room for bias.
That is all.

I am pleased that you like the idea.
However, I must confess that my reasons for wanting the triple forms implemented in some way aren't entirely selfless.
However, after spending an accumulated total of 10 hours of spriting out and animating Xenon's three forms, I'd sooner gargle neurotoxin than let them go to waste.
That is all.

I must admit, I like that idea. So Fox, we gonna use that?
If so, like Xenon said, we do still need the partner to have their copy so they can use their artifact whenever they wish
Yay! A rare card!

It is simple. When the provisional contract is made, there are four cards made.
1. The Provisional contract card. Two copies of these are made, one for the wizard, one for the partner. The two can communicate through them and the wizard can summon their partner with it, whilst the partner can use their artifact.
2. Cosplay Card.
3. Armour Card.
4. Suka Card.
Of course, while four cards are made, only one actually exists that everyone could see.
That is all.

That sounds good. As long as we are on the topic of communication with a mages partner, do we wanna have a specific text color for that?
Example:
"Asuna-San, come to Library Island"

Then, yes. It's been decided. We'll go with that plan. Yes....
