Perhaps... we should do a little bit of both. I like the idea of time jumping, but weyrling lessons make great opportunities to interact and create friendships and rivalries between characters.
So maybe we should have a few small time jumps. We could have their first lesson, where they learn to care for their dragons, wait for a week or two to give time for people to do stuff, then skip ahead a few months in RP time to another important lesson such as first flights. A week or two for that, and then we skip ahead to chewing firestone, handling flamethrowers, and aerial maneuvers and such. And after that, graduation! We could even throw in a threadfall sometime.
That way, we wouldn't be waiting too long for our dragons to grow and graduate, and we could have another clutch on the sands when the queens fly, so any left over candidates from this hatching or new candidates wouldn't be waiting for a long time, but we could still rp the dragons as they grow.

That would be a good Idea... I would like a time jump, to significant points in the dragon's lives, first flight, learning formations, first firestone chew. Tho it is unfortunate that there arnt enough golds to have a wing.
And we do need to make some desisions. witch queen will fly first, with witch dragon, and who will mate them...
When and how often we will fight thread, will we try to do it on Real time or just when ever people are on, because a three to five hour fall ever three to nineteen days?

I agree to the smaller time jumps too. Definitely up for the character interaction... it also leads to more character development. That can only improve as we go along.
I think the senior queen should rise first... she is the senior, afterall. It would look bad for her if Liath rose before her.
So much fun!

I was just thinking, we really need main weyr people and holder people.
Leadwoman
healer
harper
and we need holder people not just NPC status... I was thinking of making one of them... But I dont know... This came to my mind, because I pulled out my two favorite books, Dragon singer and dragon blood, and in both of these certain characters keep coming up, and these characters are not dragon riders...
Just thinking aloud I guess...

I think I already mentioned that I might make a Weyrbrat. Is anyone else interested? I want to know if there might be at least a couple more kids before I make him, because I don't want him running around with adults all the time.
Why not make a holder? At least there are plenty of riders to chat with.
It's kind of weird having a throwback gold. I'm wondering if she should be exactly the same as a normal queen only smaller. I feel like she should have some bigger flaw.
That might just be my opinion though.

Lumiere Meridienne So, on the 14th, we will move Two months ahead, and a Weyrling Master character will be hosting classes for all the newly impressed. Those classes will be in a different thread so that they may continue without being interrupted by a timeskip schedule. After two weeks, we will move forward again an additional eight months the the first birthdays of our new hatchlings, and events to follow will be determined at that time. That's from the first post of the main Weyr topic. I just wanted to ask... if we skip forward 2 months, and then later another 8 months, that would only add up to 10 months. But I thought that the Pernese counted 13 months to their calender? I remember reading about it in The Skies of Pern. So, even after those two planned skips, wouldn't our characters still have another 3 months before their dragons turned one? sweatdrop

I just made a wher handler
a master healer
and a weyrbrat
Add that to my dragon rider and I will have four, if I bring back my old male candidate Ill have five, witch will leave one spot open for when I have a brilliant Idea.
I might make a holder, later, but for now, I wanted to keep my characters centered around the weyr
I had planned on my brat being the "sister" of that other character who asked for one, but hes gone I think, so... what ever..
