His height makes him feel more awkward in public, but still puts on his stern appearance. He got his dirty blond hair from his mother. He cuts it short, favoring it that way, and often uses a special potion to keep it at its certain angles, but often making it look very natural. His grey-blue eyes are also something he inherited from his mother, giving off a little twinkle with his rare smiles. He also has facial hair which he prefers, making him feel more comfortable somehow.
He’s very thin from playing sports and taking his usual walks, making his height compliment him, something he got from his father. From playing and going out a lot, he skin looks rather tan and fair at the same time. He wears a certain hemp necklace given by his father, saying that it would make him stronger in life, which he believed.  [Life Story] His father and mother met during their years at Hogwarts, being set up by their friends and family to get together. But after all the schemes they did to Randolf and Sophie, they didn’t need it since they already liked each other. They ended up marrying each other after two years of dating after their graduation. Will’s parents were very sociable, going to many balls and parties. They were a very outgoing and friendly wizarding family, one any wizard or witch can approach without caution. And with all their happiness, three years after their marriage, William Raines was born on October 15th.
Will was quite a stout baby in his early years. His parents played with him every day and tried to let him try something new daily. But as he got older, he grew into a quiet child, not playing with the neighborhood kids at all like he used to. His relatives became questionable, wondering what happened to Randolf and Sophie’s child. But really, it was their fault, his family that is. Having been expected to be like his parents every time, all of them hoping that he would be just like them in every way.
He never had any siblings, so he really didn’t have any pressure except that to be like his parents. “Why do they want me to be like them?” little Will asked to himself. So, wanting to impress others, he tried to be entertaining and friendly. The more he tried, the happier his parents became. But he became too overwhelmed, eventually breaking down and changing himself completely. He began to not talk much, and eventually didn’t accept invites to play at the neighborhood kid’s houses. His parents had no idea what happened, giving up to find out as well, being the happy-go-lucky couple they were.
When he got his letter, his parents were thrilled. They saw this as an opportunity to get their fun-loving son back. Deep inside, Will was excited as well, wondering how more magic would be like other than the ones he experienced at home, due to his parents. So, with that and after much cheering from his mother and father, he was off to Hogwarts. But it was much more than he expected. He met many young wizards and witches like him, seeing each of their different personalities. He was cheery and hard-working, being very productive in his classes. But people began to shy away from him, becoming intimidated and a bit shocked from his personality. “Where his parents like this?” they would ask themselves. Again, it was just like his relatives – being compared.
Throughout his years at Hogwarts, he began to change into a silent and studious student, barely showing a smile or even a laugh to anyone other than his close friends anymore. He has no idea what to become after his year at Hogwarts, not really taking it into mind. Going with the flow would be his plan, hoping to spend some time with good friends. In front of others, Will becomes rather quiet, looking at something else when he wasn’t spoken to. But whenever he would come into some conversation, he would pay full attention, giving small smiles here and there and trying to answer sincerely as possible. Although, that sort of situation would happen with his closest friends, but probably some more smiles and laughs. Meeting new people is something he enjoys, but hides under his façade of seriousness.
He likes to take long walks on the grounds (no, not the beach), enjoying the calmness of everything at Hogwarts. Even though he seems tough, he’s actually quite clumsy. Often when he trips or does something awkward in front of others, he gets up again and acts like nothing happened, although his heart beats like a beast from embarrassment. But not to worry, that doesn’t happen often. Other than taking walks and tripping, he likes to read any kind of book whenever he can, enjoying the other kind of quiet time he can get. This must be where he gets his “silent type” label that people imagine, but he doesn’t mind at all.[Likes]Taking walks

The Puzzles;  Name: Jane Tian Drisscoll
Year: Fifth
Relationship: Childhood friend, acquaintances
What you think of Will: “I knew Will because of Jonah and Johan, even though he’s their junior. He’s a pretty quiet guy, but he can be fun sometimes. But he barely shows it, so I don’t talk to him much…I think.”
History, if any: A party when they were younger and knew him for her five years at Hogwarts because of Johan and Jonah.

Name: Adelaide Marie Burkley (aka Alice)
Year: 5th year
Relationship: Slight crush on Will, In between just friends and close friends
What you think of Will: “Oh, yes, Will. Ha… Haha. I have to admit, he’s the only guy that I’ve liked and haven’t flirted with. It’s not that I don’t want to, it’s just… I don’t know. Usually, I’m after the loud, obnoxious types, like me. But when I look at Will, he’s such a quiet and kind guy, I wouldn’t want to hurt him- not that I could, anyway. Plus, he’s a 7th year; it’s just two years, but I feel so young. Otherwise, I’ve talked to him like a friend before, and I find myself feeling serene and not as chaotic as usual around him, and I actually had nice conversations with him. It was kind of… pleasant. He’s a wonderful gentleman and friend, and not to mention good looking. I’m not so wonderful.”
History, if any: Alice found Will to be a bit too quiet when she first met him, but she’s always admired his politeness, for most of the boys she’s around with, they aren’t so gentlemen like. She felt a calm, tranquil feeling around him, and, though she’ll never admit it, Will had been one guy she’s been afraid off and self-conscious around. Plus, Jane, a friend of Alice and fellow 5th year female Gryffindor, had been good friends with him.
Plot ideas: I think for Alice, it’ll be one of those kind of things where you like them a lot, but just want to be friends. I do wish for a nice strong based friendship, though. I think Will could bring out the calm, sophisticated side of Alice that rarely comes out, as a friend. :] But I leave that up to you, whether friends or something more. But she can help him up if he trips near her!

History, if any: Although Fig’s only known Will his first two years attending Hogwarts, he has always admired him, and respects his gentlemen attitude.

What you think of Will: "Will's a good, a great guy actually. He's polite and kind to most, which is good. He's kind of quiet which is pretty nice for a guy in Gryffindor. It seems like most of us Gryffindors are quite the chatterboxes. Anyways..I'm pretty sure I annoyed him during my first two years here, but we've now become friends. He seems to pretty tight with Jane, that's cool though. Since you know, I'm pretty good friends with her."
History, if any: Well it was pretty obvious that Skander annoyed Will his first few years here, but Will has grown to bear Skander. They're in the same house and they've grown to be friends.
Plot ideas: Your idea sounds good. Also since Skander noticed how tight Will is with Jane he might talk to him about Jane. Try to get his approval before he tries to get too involved with Jane. Yes! What you think of Will: “Ohhh…! Why’d you have to bring him up? Will’s amazing. He’s such a gentlemen, and I love talking to him, even if he can seem a little bit slow. Plot ideas: Ooooo~ I figured that maybe Will can find someone and have a friend in his year, and also a potential girlfriend (besides Alice. Although I love alicexwill, I think Alice might be a bit too loud for him, even if he loves her to pieces), but that’s all up to you. x] But, oh, she likes Glenn, too. What you think of Will: Oh he seems nice. Don’t really know him, but Glenn’s mentioned him on occasion. And from what he says, Will seems like a cool guy.
History, if any: Leigh’s been in a group conversation at the same time as Will, but it was probably because she was with Fig or Glenn at the time. Glenn’s also mentioned her in a few conversations with Will.

Miscellaneous;:: family ::  Randolf Raines :: Sophie Raines

Randolf and Sophie met during their years at Hogwarts. They were very sociable and outgoing, and went to any balls and parties that their friends invited them to go to. They were set up by their friends and family at the end of their seventh year, but didn't need much as they already liked each other. They're a very friendly couple. Randolf is the more responsible one out of the couple, Sophie being a bit too outgoing. Currently, Sophie is doing something in her parent's hometown, not being able to drop off Will at King's Cross, but she did wish him luck and a kiss on the cheek for his last year. Randolf gave Will a very inspirational talk before he went for King's Cross, seeing as that Randolf is Will's greatest mentor in life.
