A pillar runs through the structure from the first floor to the third floor, and the whole tower resonates with a booming sound. There is an elder on the top floor who will grant you the TM Flash if you can beat him in a Pokemon battle. I T E M S

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx So this is Sprout Tower, huh? Blair rolled her eyes, but she took it back because she realized that would be really disrespectful. But still; this place wasn’t very nice, it kind of smelled, and she only saw bald sages around. Then again, they weren’t inviting people to come in. Blair shrugged, and now that she’d seen the inside, she wanted to get on with it and beat her way up to the top, because she wanted that TM that she heard they would graciously give away if you beat their elder. Well, Blair though. Beating them is helping them train, right? She sighed and came up with a plan of equally splitting all the sages to battle throughout the three of them. ”So you said this thing has four floors, right, Glynnis? So how about we split this tower into threes for us to battle equally?” Blair shrugged. ”I’m pretty sure the Elder is on the top floor.” She looked at her feet to try to think of more reasons to convince them to go with her idea. ”What do you guys think? I’d take the bottom floor, Glynnis you can take the 2nd, and Micah can take the third, and we will hopefully end up at the top at basically the same time. Or we can call each other on our Pokegears.” Blair thought she made enough of a point, and waited for the two other group members to respond.

When they entered the Tower, Glynnis caught a glimpse of Blair rolling her eyes. She smiled and shook her head, but kept her thoughts to herself. The Tower was a very serene place - very peaceful. It was lit by candles and there was a large pillar in the center of the room that Glynnis swore was actually moving. Her sight-seeing was interrupted by Blair's voice, who was eager to get on with the battling. Glynnis couldn't help but agree that they should move on and get their training done. It was getting later now. It was summertime, but daylight had already begun to fade by the time they entered the tower. And Glynnis really wanted to battle the Violet City gym today.
"Well, that sounds OK...but, how do we know where the Sages actually are right now? They could all be on the top floor training or something," Glynnis reasoned, in response to Blair's suggestion about how they take on the Sages in the Tower. "Why don't we all just go upstairs and see what's waiting for us? It doesn't look like there is any battling to be done on this floor anyway. And, maybe if there's more than one Sage on a floor, we can split up and battle at the same time?" She suggested.
OOC: I don't think there is just 2 Sages on each floor. Cuz the top floor has like four plus the elder. I think there's only like one on the 2nd and 3rd floors.

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The idea that Glynnis put out seemed a lot more logical to Blair. I wish I’d thought of that. Blair patted down her hair with her hand while looking ahead. ”Well, that’s a much better idea. Let’s go with that.” Blair said laughing. She pushed her idea away and the three looked around the first floor. Blair voiced that Glynnis was right again about there being no sages on this floor. They then proceeded to climb the ladder one by one and Blair was the first one up. A sage immediately saw her climb up the ladder and walked calmly towards her. ”Ah, welcome to Sprout Tower young one. I assume you would like to challenge the elder, would you not? I am Sage Nico, and I’d really like to see your battling skills before I let you go on.” He got in a battle stance and whisked out a Pokeball from the confines of his robe. Blair got out Nilla’s Pokeball as well and the battle had begun.
The sage let out a Bellsprout. Of course. This is Sprout Tower.” She thought only for a moment on what attacks to use on it. She was learning types quickly and easily, and now she could use her knowledge well. She told Nilly to use Bite at first, and she checked her Pokedex for her entry on Bellsprout. ”Hmm, so it’s grass-type? Then fire would be the obvious move type to use. She looked down at the egg in her arms. I wish this thing would hatch already! Just as Meowth got attack, it countered with a strong Bite to the Bellsprout. It flinched when Nilly came forward again, which made is susceptible to another Bite, which caused it to faint. ”Hm. I see you are raising your Pokemon extraordinarily well to defeat my prized Bellsprout. Good thing I have more!” He sent out another Bellsprout to the battlefield and it was quick to hit Nilly with a Vine Whip to the cheek. ”Meow-meow-meowth!” It growled and sprinted up to the root Pokemon and scratched it everywhere and ended things with a Bite. The sage grumbled and sent another Bellsprout forward, and Nilla quickly finished that off with the same technique, then was healed with the Shell Bell. ”Great job, Nilla. But we’ll be climbing some ladders soon so you gotta stay in your Pokeball.” It nodded and Blair quickly recalled it. The sage smiled. ”I must thank you for an exhilarating battle, even if I did happen to lose.” Blair walked up to the sage to accept the prize money, and then she regrouped.

Micah followed the girls to the Sprout Tower and entered it, admiring it's glorious structural design. He'd read that there were once rumors that the moving pillar in the center of the tower actually housed a giant Bellsprout. He'd definitely not want to run against that grass Pokemon with his current team. He shuddered at the thought. He smiled as the girls debated about what manner to travel through the tower and with the decision landed upon, they were off. Nearly as soon as they'd reached the 2nd floor, Blair entered into another battle, and won with flair. "Nice goin', Blair! You're pretty good at this battlin' business." he said, holding his hand out for a highfive. As he did this, the Sage Nico shot his a rather curious glance. "What? You never seen somebody give a high-five before? What rock you been livin' under?" he said with a chuckle, not trying to be disrespectful, as he assumed the man had seen a high-five before . . . Micah was maybe just a little more laid back than most that came in here, but Blair and Glynnis were rather casual-seeming, too. No need to put on a false image . . . as Micah's elder brother always said. "Dude . . . just be yourself . . . and um . . . you know . . . all that stuff . . . " . . . well . . . maybe Micah's older brother wasn't the best person to take advice from, but he had something on a role there . . . being honest and straightforward proved efficient a lot for Micah.

Glynnis congratulated Blair on her win and then the group continued on there way through the second level of the Tower. Though it was quite tall, it certainly wasn't all that big on the inside. The floors were not that expansive at all and, soon enough, they had already reached another ladder that led up to the third floor.
When they reached the next level, they weren't bombarded right away with a challenge to battle as they had been before. They walked for a little while, heading towards the next ladder that might take them upstairs to the top. However, they found their next challenge waiting for them by the entryway to the fourth floor. It was another Sage, who wasn't letting them pass without a battle.
Glynnis stepped up. "I've got this one, guys." She called Charla out of her poke ball, which she had been placed in while they ascended the Tower to make it easier. Glynnis knew she would have an advantage from watching Blair's previous battle. These Sages used mostly Bellsprout, which Charla could easily take down.
The battle was almost like deja vu. This Sage had the exact same Pokemon as the last one - same number of Bellsprout, and all at the same levels. Charla took down the Bellsprout with just one ember attack each. The Sage admitted defeat, handed her some prize money, and let them pass.

Micah gulped as he saw that the Sages here would likely have a bajillion Bellsprout. And though they were weak, they were still grass-types. And Micah hadn't figured out how to counter that exactly quite yet. "Good job, Glynnis." he said rather shakily as Glynnis finished off her battle with ease. Micah then led the group ahead, as he was the next in line for battling, if they were taking these Sages in rotation. But Micah was surprised to find that up ahead you had to go downstairs instead of up. "Hm? What's this about?" he said, as he led the girls back downstairs, and followed the path laid out before them and back up again. Nearly as soon as he walked off of a ladder, a sage greeted him.
"You must be my challenger for today. My name is Edmond . . . It is nice to see that you didn't get dissuaded by our little detour. You must truly be determined." said the sage as he released a Bellsprout onto the floor. "Let's see how determined you truly are." he then uttered, and Micah let out his Remoraid. "Hm? What's this? A puny water Pokemon? How foolish!" the sage then taunted.
"Taka, use Psybeam!" called out Micah as the Remoraid shot a rainbow-colored stream of mind-energy from it's gun-like mouth. And though the move did normal damage, as psychic moves are super effective against poison-type and not very effective against grass, the move nearly instantly took out the Bellsprout due to it's sheer power. This went on like this for the next two Bellsprout, sans a bit of confusion with one. But Micah, wiping the sweat from his brow returned to the team. "I've got to figure out something . . . " he said, tired of having this type-advantage anxiety. As, though Micah had proved with his battling ability that type wasn't everything, it definitely did give one an upper hand, and Micah knew that strategy was as much of battling as guts were, and he wanted to have both.

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Blair clapped as Micah took out a trainer with his water Pokemon, even if he was at a type disadvantage. She knew that Micah was uncomfortable with fighting grass Pokemon, but he took it out with a psychic move. She came over to congratulate him, as well as take the lead. ”Nice job~” She smiled and friendly patted him on the back and they all switched positions for the next battle. Blair was almost pro at these; she’s had enough to know exactly what she was doing, so that gave her a huge confidence boost.
Soon they had reached the fourthand final floor. Contrary to Blair’s previous belief, there were indeed sages on this floor. They all surrounded the elder basically though. Was it to protect him? Blair wanted to get out of this creepy tower already, like everything else, but there was nothing to see here. Sure, it was inside, sure it was warm, but it didn’t have anything Blair was used to in a building. She walked to the next sage who was to battle her, and raised her eyebrows to let the Sage talk. ”Hm, quite the impatient one, are we?” He chuckled and took out a Pokeball. ”I’m Sage Jin. Since I’m closer to the elder than the sages downstairs, I’m more important to the elder than the sages downstairs.” Blair gave him a confused look, but not on purpose. She was actually confused. The sage sighed. ”That means I’m stronger!” He sent out a Bellsprout. It looked the same as any other Bellsprout. Didn’t look stronger, or weaker for that matter.
Blair sent out Ammy this time, her stronger Pokemon. Just incase this Bellsprout was stronger. ”Alright Amity, start this battle off with lots of Thundershocks!” Blair put a finger in the air to point to the Sage’s Pokemon. A couple of powerful shocks later, the Bellsprout had fainted. Just like all the rest. The sage’s arms went limp, and he hobbled over to Blair to give her the prize money.

Upon reaching the third floor, Micah nearly instantly found a Paralyz Heal and a Potion lying on the ground. Picking them up and putting them in his bag, he made his way past Blair who was finishing up with her battle. On his way to reaching the next sage, several Rattata scurried by and seemed to be preventing Micah's progression, so to get them out of his way, he had Taka defeat them using her Water Gun, as she pummeled them out of the way with ease. He then reached a sage, who approached him promptly. "Hello, young lad. My name is Neal. Unlike my companion Jin, I recognize my place under Troy and our Elder, but I will give this battle my all none-the-less!" said the Sage Neal as he sent his Bellsprout out on to the field and Micah sent out his Remoraid, Taka.
"Taka, use Psybeam." commanded Micah nervously. The Remoraid looked a bit confused at it's trainers weary voice and was hit by a powerful vine-whip from the Bellsprout. "TAKA!" Micah called out rather loudly and suddenly, as the Remoraid returned to it's previous position and wildly fired Psybeams across the field at her opponent. Soon, the Bellsprout went down, but Micah was worried for Taka . . . he now understood that to be a good trainer, even in times of fear, he had to be confident for his Pokemon. Else they would worry for him . . . and that's not what a Pokemon trainer's Pokemon should be doing mid-battle. Scared that Taka had suffered real damage from that Vine Whip, Micah took out a Potion and used it on her. "I'm sorry about that, we should only have a little more battling to go . . . " he said, as he wasn't quite ready to use any of his other Pokemon. He was actually . . . sort of scared to . . . He then withdrew Taka to her Pokeball and gathered the money as he waited for the Glynnis and Blair to catch up. It was Glynnis' turn to battle next, and with these Sages only having Bellsprout, her Charmander would take them out quite easily. But, Neal did say that the next sage -- Troy -- was more powerful than he. "You'd better be careful, Glynnis. Apparently this next guy's pretty tough." Micah informed her, trying to be helpful and relay any information he had unto her.

Glynnis watched Micah's intense battle from the sidelines with Blair. It must have been very difficult, considering the major disadvantage he had. It was then that she realized that she didn't know much about the type of Pokemon they would have to face in Violet Gym when they went there. It was important, that was for sure, so that they could prepare properly. She kicked herself for not even thinking to ask about it earlier when she was roaming around town.
After Micah's battle, he took care of his Pokemon and came back to where they were. The other Sage had hinted that the next battle would be even harder, and Micah encouraged her to be careful. She just smiled, not willing to walk away from a challenge.
"I'm sure I'll be fine," she said confidently. "I'm looking forward to it even. I hope he's tough. My Pokemon could use the experience. Besides, if I can't beat him, how can I ever hope to get a gym badge?"
After Sage Neal stepped away, another Sage came up behind him. This was no doubt Glynnis' challenger. He introduced himself as Troy; the name was previously mentioned by Neal right before his battle with Micah. Sage Troy sent out his first Pokemon which was, no surprise, a Bellsprout. Glyn grinned, as she was counting on that. She released her Pokemon too.
"Go, Charla! Use your Ember attack like before!" Troy's Bellsprout was strong - as strong as Neal's had been. But the tables were turned in this battle, as it was Glynnis with the type advantage now. Bellsprout went down easily, and Troy recalled it.
"You may have taken down my Bellsprout, but let's make this interesting now!" Sage Troy said, releasing his second Pokemon. To Glynnis' surprise, it wasn't a Bellsprout at all. In fact, it was a bird Pokemon that looked almost like an owl. Not missing a beat, she whipped out her Pokedex and scanned it.
Hoothoot, the Owl Pokemon. Hoothoot always stands on one foot, and changes feet so quickly that it can rarely be seen. Even when attacked, it does not brace itself using both feet.
Glynnis tucked her Pokedex back in her bag. "Well, it doesn't matter. We'll still win, right Charla? It doesn't look so tough." Charla used another Ember attack, but the move was not quite as effective as it had been on Bellsprout. She didn't have a type advantage over this one. The Hoothoot retaliated with a tackle attack. Charla shook it off and tried several scratch attacks until it fainted.
Sage Troy had put up a good fight, but Glynnis still emerged the victor. "You are a strong one," he told her, handing over the prize money. Now that all the Sages had been defeated, all that was left was to challenge the Elder for that TM.

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Blair congratulated Glynnis and Micah for dealing with the sages. The sage that Glyn had fought had a strange bird Pokemon that Blair had never seen before. As Glyn did, she scanned the Pokemon. It was called a Hoothoot. That’s all that she needed to know, so she put it away. She was almost at the Elder now. She would be the first one to fight him, and she wasn’t excited or sad. It was fine. Sometimes going first wasn’t the best, but at least she would get it over with. Along the way across the large room, she found a nook in the corner with items such as an Escape Rope, a Paralyz Heal, and a Potion. These would come in handy later. She picked them up while thinking, ‘finders keepers’ and walked on.
Soon she had reached the elder. He was old and wrinkly, but by no means weak. He looked over the group and motioned to a nearby sage to come near. ”So, there’s three of you, yes? Hmm, Sage Neal,” He said as the sage came closer. ”Fetch me a couple of Full Restores so I can battle all three of these travelers without making them wait while I take a quick trip to the Pokemon Center to heal after every battle.” He signaled Neal to go, introduced himself as Li, and took out three Pokeballs. ”Now, which one of you is first?” Blair stepped forward and got out Meowth’s Pokeball. ”C’mon out, Nilly!” From the red and white capsule emerged Vanilla. The elder chuckled and sent out a Bellsprout. More of these? I can take ‘em. Without further thought, Blair instructed Nilla to use Bite continuously, while putting in some Scratches while she could. That seemed to be their battle strategy nowadays. Soon the Elder’s Bellsprout, along with the others in this tower, had fainted. Li groaned and recalled his fainted Pokemon and gave it to Sage Neal to heal it for the next battle. Not uttering a word, he released another Bellsprout, which was overpowered by Meowth, who looked somehow stronger. ”It will take much effort to beat this Pokemon, I’m afraid.” He sent out a Hoothoot, a Pokemon that Blair had scanned earlier. She recalled Nilla and quickly let out Amity to beat this Flying-type with an advantage. Li knew his Pokemon apparently, because he looked more nervous now. He shook his head and his Pokemon used an attack. It hit Blair’s Mareep, but it didn’t do much damage. Mareep on the other hand, beat the Hoothoot easily with one Thundershock. ”Yeah! We did it! Nice job with those Thunder moves, Ammy! Now I know we are ready for the gym leader.” She nodded and laughed, then called back her Mareep and stepped forward to meet the Elder. ”That was an excellent battle. I hope your friends are just the same.” Blair nodded in agreement. ”I’m glad to see that.” He laughed and got out a TM from a basket behind him. ”Congratulations on beating me. You’ve earned this TM as well as the general prize money.” Li handed both to Blair and quickly healed his Pokemon. Blair stepped back and the Elder stood up, ready to battle again. ”Who’s next, if anyone?”

Micah watched as Glynnis went on with her battle, and eventually Blair on to the elder. "G-good job, girls." Micah said a bit shakily. It just made him feel off of his game that he didn't have some sort of strategy to deal with these grass Pokemon. But slapping the sides of his face, he forced himself out of it. He had to be strong . . . for his Pokemon's sake. Stepping forward now, he spoke up. "I'm next." he said shortly and confidently.
"Well, well, young lad. It seems you've gathered the courage to face Elder Li." he said as he once again withdrew his Pokeballs. "Well, then . . . shall we battle?!" he said, sending his first Bellsprout out on to the field, and Micah his Remoraid.
"Taka, I want you to use your Water Gun this time around to propel yourself, as without it, you have less maneuverability around on the field. After that, use Psybeam as your offensive strategy." he told her, hoping this strategy would work. And with Taka's high levels, it eventually did. Taka took out the small Bellsprout fairly quickly, but when the Elder Li sent out his second Bellsprout, it appeared he had caught on, as at the first attempt of Taka propelling herself, the Bellsprout slashed the water stream and grabbed the Remoraid with Vine Whip, and held her against the wall as it commenced to beat her with Vine Whip. "Taka! Spray the water into the air!" he said. As she did this, she used her ability swift swim along with the wettened slippery vines to slither out of his grasp and commenced to pummel the small grass Pokemon with a series of rainbow-colored Psybeams. "Ha! Take that! We can handle your Hoothoot no problem now." he said confidently as he'd scanned the Hoothoot earlier in Glynnis' battle as he was curious about it as well. "Taka. You're better at usin' your Water Gun, so just use that as you need to in this battle, whether it be to get away, for quick bursts of speed, or for your attacks." he said to her a bit more calmly with a smile upon his face. "You can do it." he then continued. He was speaking rather quietly instead of hollering across the battle field to his Remoraid, which made the moment all that more intimate. He deeply cared for his Remoraid. "You know, Taka . . . I'm gonna have to start to get to know our other friends sometime . . . but . . . I want you and I to handle all the way past this first gym with just ourselves." he said as his smile widened and he placed a hand on his Remoraid. The Remoraid flopped upward and chimed back happily in agreement, then Micah stood back to his feet to finish the battle. "Alright, Li. Let's do this!" he said, and as he did, Remoraid burst forth with a powerful Water Gun. It continuously sprayed, whether it be at the opponent or at the ground to move itself around. The water began to fill the floor up a bit, but it took a while, as it was also leaking through the cracks in the floor to the lower levels. But buildings such as this would obviously be built to withstand Pokemon battles, or else that wouldn't take place in them. Micah soon spotted a pocket of water lying on the floor and told Remoraid to shoot a Psybeam into it and then at the ceiling. It did so and a large splash of water covered the field and then as the water was sprayed at the ceiling, it began to fall back down like rain. "Remoraid, use your speed and Psybeam to put on a show and confuse that bird-Pokemon!" he said, and it did so, zipping around and firing short bursts of Psybeam that when reflected from the drops of water would undoubtedly be confusing to watch. "Now finish it off with a Water Gun followed by Psybeam!" he said, and then she fired a powerful Water Gun that was then surrounded by and propelled by a powerful Psybeam that whirled around it, slamming into the opponent Hoothoot and bringing Micah and Taka victory. "Yes!" Micah exclaimed, bringing his elbow down with his hand clenched in a fist. The elder then commenced to get another TM for Micah and handed it to him, as he started to heal his Pokemon once more. "Good job, lad. I must say, for having the disadvantage, you did remarkably well." he said to Micah, and after Micah thanked him for the compliment, he stepped to the side as the Elder stood back from his spot, his Pokemon completely healed once more. "And will you be facing me as well, young lady?
" he then asked Glynnis. Micah, knew that she'd be using her Charmander first, and after looking at the room once more, he realized he'd wet the battling area a bit too much. "Oh! Glynnis, I'm sorry that I wet the field so much! I wasn't even thinkin' about the fact that you'd have to battle right after me." he said as he brought his hand to his face, palming it out of somewhat embarrassment of his inconsiderateness. He'd been far too focused in his own battle, unfortunately.

Glynnis realized the now-wet battle field was probably not the best environment for Charla. But she didn't want Micah to feel bad, so she smiled and made of small joke out of it. "Don't worry about it. At least now I don't have to worry about burning the Tower down with Charla's fire attack, heh." She laughed, although burning down Sprout Tower really wasn't a laughing manner. In fact, Glynnis mentally kicked herself for not even thinking of that earlier when Charla was spewing out Ember all over the place.
But Glynnis turned her attention back to her upcoming battle. Blair and Micah had wiped the floor with this Elder (in Micah's case, much more literally), so now it was her turn to show her stuff. She released Charla, cautioning her Pokemon about the wet floor. It would probably be best if Charla stayed as dry as possible during the battle. Glynnis wondered to herself if maybe she shouldn't have been the last one to battle.
After healing his Pokemon again, Elder Li sent forth his Bellsprout against Glynn. As long as Charla could avoid all the water, this battle should be a cinch. Charla used her Ember attack, successfully knocking out her opponent. Elder Li sent out his second Bellsprout, which suffered the same fate as the first one had - a one-hit knockout from Charla's Ember attack. Even though the Elder's Pokemon were strong, they were still no match against Charla. Having witnessed the two earlier battles, Glynn knew that last up was Li's Hoothoot. Glynnis had faced a Hoothoot before, so she knew what to expect.
Charla used her scratch attacks against the enemy Hoothoot. But this Pokemon was much stronger than the last one she fought. It got a couple of good hits in too. In fact, since Glynnis hadn't used any potions on Charla before this battle, her Pokemon was looking quite weary. However, they managed to pull through and take down the Elder's Hoothoot. As a reward, Glynnis was given some money and the TM Flash.

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Now that everyone was done battling, they could leave now with their newly-gained items. Blair looked out the windows and saw it was getting really late. It would probably take at least 15 minutes to get back down with all the Bellsprout around. Heck, now that it was night, there would be Ghastly floating around. Blair shuddered. Meeting one in a dark building at night would not be fun. She looked around for a quick way out of here. Elder Li came up behind her. ”Scared about the Ghastly, huh?” Blair spun around and answered. ”Well, yeah! Do you have a quick way out of here?” Li started shaking his head as soon as she started the question. ”Sorry, but no. You’ll have to go down the way you came up. Unless you have an Escape Rope. There tends to be a lot around in this building. Did you happen to pick one up?” Blair nodded and took it out of her bag. ”This is the fun part.” Li laughed and walked Blair and company to the nearby window.
Blair was halfway out the window of the 4-story building with her whole body being supported by a flimsy rope. ”Uh, are you sure this is safe?” She said as she started tying the rope to her. Li laughed, then shrugged. ”This building won’t fall on you, that’s all I have to say.” Blair took a deep breath after hearing that wonderful advice. She pulled the rope one more time and stepped a foot on the scaffolding. Why, WHY am I the first to do everything? She slowly made her way down while at the same time trying to hold an egg. She soon realized that climbing down a building with one free arm required a lot of upper body strength, which she didn’t have. She stopped on a flat piece of roof on the third floor and put her egg carefully in her bag. Hopefully nothing would happen to it.
On the last 7 to10 feet or so, her foot slipped on the roofing, and she fell the rest of the way down. Luckily, she landed in some bushes. The first thing she did was check her egg. It was fine, so she calmed down. Blair blew the bangs out of her eyes and waved to her travel partners to say she was safe. That rappelling was sure something. As she was getting out of the bushes, she felt something in her hand. It was a Super Potion. She put it in her bag. After picking a few stray branches and leaves from her hand and clothes, she looked up at the tower as Li sent the next person down.
