XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXV I O L E T XC I T Y XXThere's just something about this city that makes you feel all nostalgic inside. In the heart of VIolet City is Sprout Tower, where Sages go to train. This is also the city where you'll have your first Gym Battle, so make sure you've done some training, too. There's a nice patch of water you'll also notice as you cross the bridge over it towards Sprout Tower. After you can use Surf, you can find a nifty item. I T E M S

Micah left to heal up Remoraid from it's battling, and left the rod in the water as he did so, and upon his return there was yet another tug on the line and withdrew the thin string from the water. Once again on the end of the line was a Poliwag. "Eh. So much for seeing a diverse bunch of Pokemon here." he said, assuming that the waters here mostly were home to Poliwag. Remoraid then took out that Poliwag and the few after that with it's Psybeam attack, and then an idea hit him. He'd catch a Poliwag for each of the girls. Once more he caught another Poliwag, though there seemed to be an abundance of Magikarp in the waters as well. He battled with the Poliwag for just a little while and then threw a Pokeball at the somewhat weaker Poliwag and waited to see if the ball stopped shaking. And sure enough after just a few moments, the ball stopped shaking, and returning to the group, he showed the two Pokeballs to the girls. "How would you girls like a Poliwag? Gynnis? Blair? 'Cause I know I'm real picky about the Pokemon I use, so don't be afraid to say no if you don't want 'em. They're actually not my speed, either, even though they're rather good in battle." he said, hoping they liked their gifts, but could totally understand if they didn't. And if they didn't, he could put them up at the Pokemon Center and hope for good Pokemon to be traded for them. As he'd looked at some data about the Poliwags on his Pokedex, and although they looked like decent Pokemon, they weren't quite his speed.

When they entered Violet City, the first thing Glynnis noticed was the striking difference between this city and Cherrygrove. Everything here was different; the houses all looked old-fashioned and everything was a deep shade of purple. The roads were nicely paved, and there was a huge body of water right in the center of the city. Across it was a tall, but beautiful tower surrounded by trees. The view was quite breath-taking.
"Wow, this place is so nice," Glynnis remarked. Micah had gone straight to the lake to get some fishing in, so Glynnis decided her first stop should be the Pokemon Center to heal Charla. She waited a little longer, because she realized she also had her new Bellsprout to heal. By the time she was done, Micah had returned as well. He told them about the extra Poliwag he'd caught and asked if the girls would like it.
"A Poliwag?" Glynnis asked. She hadn't seen that Pokemon before, so she didn't really know. "Can I see it? My Pokemon team is kind of small right now, anyway. If you don't want it, I don't see why I couldn't take it off your hands. That's actually very generous of you to even offer." If Micah hadn't wanted it, he wouldn't have gone out of the way to catch one, let alone two. So Glynnis figured he was probably just being nice in catching it for the girls, since they couldn't fish themselves.

Glynnis looked at the little water Pokemon Micah had caught. It was kind of cute actually, and would probably make a good addition to her team. It seemed curious, and didn't seem to mind her at all when she pet it on the head. Deciding it would be a good idea, she told Micah she'd gladly accept the Pokemon.
"He'll be a nice addition to my team," she said. "Thank you." She decided, since it was her Pokemon now, she should give it a nickname like she had done with Charla.
"I think I'll call you...um, Ponto." It was unique enough, and the little Poliwag seemed content with it, so Glynnis was too. "Yes, Ponto it is."

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Blair was hesitant about taking Micah’s Poliwag. He was very nice about getting it for the both of them, but she just wasn’t sure about Poliwag. It was extremely cute and all, but she didn’t think it was right for her. She quickly told Micah about how she didn’t want it all that much. ”You know, I don’t want to be rude at ALL, but I don’t really want this Poliwag. I am very grateful that you caught it with me in mind, but I think I’d like to keep my team smaller for now… because I am new to this whole trainer journey thing.” She shrugged then smiled. ”It looks like this little guy likes you.” Blair said to the Poliwag, who was standing next to Micah. Blair looked up at him. ”You should keep it for yourself though. Or at least trade it to someone who wants it.” She shrugged. ”But thanks, though. If you want to catch something for me later, you could totally do that.” She laughed.
She turned away to face the huge tower looming above them. ”So that’s Sprout Tower, huh?” She put her hand over her eyebrows to block the sun so she could see the top. It wasn’t actually as high as she’s hoped, but it was still pretty tall. She wanted to do a little more training though, before they actually did anything in the city. ”Hey, I’m thinking about going to the next route over and training there. You’re welcome to come, if you’d like.” She tapped Nilla’s Pokeball to make sure it was still there. Somehow, she was insecure about Pokeballs, because if she dropped it somewhere the Pokemon couldn’t find their way back to her themselves. She shook the thought off after telling herself that would never happen. She awkwardly stood there, and waited for whoever to say they were coming with her say they were coming.

Blair had mentioned heading to the next route for more training and Micah agreed to go with her too. Glynnis thought about it, but realized they'd have to eventually go back to that route anyway to head to their next destination after Violet City. Confident that her Pokemon would be okay for now, she decided she really would much rather do a little sight-seeing.
"Actually, why don't you guys go ahead and I'll wait for you here," she told them. "I think I wanna look 'round the town a bit instead. But we can meet up again at the Pokemon Center in a lil' while and then head to Sprout Tower. When you're ready, you can just gimme a call on my Pokegear. Oh!" Glynnis just realized that, even though they were traveling together, they hadn't really exchanged numbers. She pulled out her Pokegear.
"We never did exchanged numbers, did we? It could come in handy in the future, so maybe we should..."

The three had exchanged numbers, then Micah and Blair went off to the next route, leaving Glynnis behind. She looked around town, wondering what she should do first. Deciding she really just wanted to look around, she started to walk aimlessly down the road she was on with Charla and Ponto following close behind. Every now and then, Glyn would glance back at her two Pokemon to see how they were doing. Charla was quiet and followed her trainer obediently. She looked around now and then, but didn't care much about the sights. Ponto, on the other hand, was having trouble keeping up. He was trying to take in everything around him, and often didn't watch where he was going. He probably had a hard enough time walking as it is, being a Pokemon that spends most of its time swimming.
Glynnis eventually found herself in a quaint little neighborhood. There were some kids playing outside with each other. Some of them even had their own Pokemon. They didn't look like trainers though, and their Pokemon were probably just family pets. She smiled as passed them. Some of them even stopped and stared, noticing Charla and Ponto behind her. She even caught a few of them whispering to each other, pointing in her direction. The word 'trainer' was spoken too, in their hushed voices.
She passed one boy, who looked to be about her age, maybe a little older, who was sitting in front of his house looking rather discontent. Curious, and with nothing better to do, she approached him.
"Hey, how come you look so glum?" she asked him. He looked up at her and sighed heavily.
"Because, all the other kids in town are always out playing with their Pokemon. And I can't..." he confessed.
"How come? Don't have any Pokemon of your own?" He shook his head.
"Nah, it's not that. I've got a Pokemon. But it's so big - it scares the other kids. So they don't want hang out with me. Not only that, but well...you know Sprout Tower?" Glynnis nodded. That was the tall building they saw before. "Yeah, well that's a place where Sages go to train. I really want to train to be a Sage, too. But all the Sages have Bellsprout for their Pokemon. I want a Bellsprout too, but I tried to catch one with the Pokemon I have and I can't"
"Why's that?" Glynnis asked, fairly interested in the conversation now.
"Because my Pokemon is a Rock-type. And, as huge as it is, and as small as Bellsprout is, it's still weak against grass-type Pokemon. Plus, Bellsprout are really fast! I just can't catch one!"
Glynnis thought about the boy's predicament. Her mind drifted to the poke ball on her belt that held a Bellsprout she had caught earlier. It was a practice catch, really, as she didn't feel much of a connection to the little Pokemon. And this boy wanted one so badly.
"Hey, mind if I see this Pokemon of yours? I'm a trainer, and I want to see all kinds of Pokemon." The boy looked unsure, but he complied and released his Pokemon from its poke ball. When the light faded, a monstrous Pokemon towered before them. It had a snake-like body and had to be at least twenty feet tall - and that wasn't even the length of its whole body! It looked like a snake made entirely of large boulders. She could see now why people around here were so intimidated. She pulled out her Pokedex to check out the stats on this Pokemon. Once again, its digital voice read out:
Onix, the Rock Snake Pokemon. Onix burrow through the ground at speeds of 50mph, while feeding on large boulders.
But a Pokemon like that looks really strong. And it doesn't intimidate me at all. I'd be helping him out too... Glynnis turned to the boy with an eager smile. She grabbed the poke ball off of her belt and released her Bellsprout. When the boy saw it, he looked shocked.
"I caught this Bellsprout on the way here, but I don't really want it either. I didn't know what to do with it though. If you really want it, I'll trade it to you for that Onix of yours." she proposed. The boy looked stunned, as if he couldn't believe it. But when he composed himself, he looked absolutely ecstatic.
"You-you mean it!? You'll really give me your Bellsprout!?" Glynnis nodded. "Thanks so much!" The boy explained that, in order to trade Pokemon, you needed to use a special machine at the Pokemon Center. The two walked back to the Pokemon Center and fired up the machine, placing both of their Pokemon in the slots. In a couple of minutes, the trade was complete. The boy picked up the poke ball with his new Bellsprout, and Glynnis took her new Onix. The boy thanked her once again, then quickly ran home, to show off his new Pokemon.
Glynnis exited the Center and released her new Onix. It towered over her, but she just looked up at it and smiled. She reached a hand up to pet it, which was cue for the Onix to lower its massive head closer. It's skin was rough and sturdy. Onix seemed content with Glynnis' affectionate approach towards it.
"You're not scary at all, are you? Just a big softy," she mused. "Well, I think you're awesome." She looked at Charla and Ponto and asked them what they thought of their new teammate. Both Pokemon looked a little unsure. Glynnis just laughed and turned back to her new Onix.
"You need a name, big guy. How 'bout I call you Rex? I think that's a fitting name." Rex looked pleased, and Glynnis laughed. "Okay, but I'm gonna call you back into your poke ball 'cause I can't walk around with you in the city. 'Sides, I want to keep you a secret from Blair and Micah. They'll be so surprised!" Glynnis recalled Rex, and Ponto too, so that only Charla was left out. She decided that, since she was already at the Pokemon Center, she might as well wait for them there. She took a seat on a bench outside and relaxed, watching the people in the city as they walked by.

On his way in to town, Micah made sure to stop by the Pokemon Center and heal up before returning to Glynnis with Blair by his side. He'd heard they were going to try and beat the sage at the Sprout Tower, and he wanted to be prepared for whatever was ahead of them. And as Glynnis did with her Onix, Rex, Micah liked to keep the Pokemon he obtained a secret as well. Hence his not mentioning of the one's he'd caught and traded up until this point. Unless Blair had seen him off and catching the Wooper, they only knew of his Remoraid that he had at this point. With nearly a full party at this point, he returned to Glynnis who he could see waiting on a bench right outside the Pokemon Center. How convenient, now he wouldn't have to look for her. "Oh hey! I was just comin' to heal up my Pokemon before we all head on over to Sprout Tower. We're headed there next, right?" Micah questioned, as he fiddled with the pokeballs around his waist, he was actually getting rather anxious to experience more trainer battles, as by this point, he and Glynnis had only experienced one, and Blair was only one battle ahead of them in that department. So they all could use a little bit of experience when it came to trained Pokemon.

Glynnis stood up when she saw Micah and Blair coming over to her. They immediately suggested going to visit Sprout Tower. She nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, we can head there now. I'm ready to go, anyway," she said. She was eager to see this place actually, since she'd heard a lot about it. Apparently it was a big deal in this town. She hoped the Sages in the Tower really were strong, since she was itching for a challenge. And it would be a good last-minute training before they faced the gym leader in this city.
The group made their way towards the big lake in the center of the city. There was a long bridge they had to cross in order to make it across the lake to Sprout Tower on the other side. When they approached the base of the Tower, they really got a feel for how tall it was. According to the Pokegear's map, it had only four floors. But from outside, it looked like those four floors must have had tall ceilings. Glyn looked to both Blair and Micah.
"Well, let's go in and check it out."

Micah and the team headed back to the Pokemon Center and would heal up and then begin to register a room for the night at the Center, as the Nurse Joy behind the counter had kindly informed them that they offered rooms for trainers to stay in for the night. The girls would likely need more time to get ready before bed, and to give them a bit of privacy to change and do whatever else they needed to he took his Pokemon that Nurse Joy had freshly healed and turned to them. "I'mma take a walk if that's alright with you ladies." he said with a smile and a nod before turning around to head out the front doors of the Pokemon Center, and the Nurse warned him not to be out too late, though the Center was open through the night for any traveling trainers. Micah was determined to have his Remoriad figure out someway of handling tomorrow's gym battle . . . as it was just Micah and her for the battle, as he'd confidently confirmed to her. So they went out to battle at the lakeside, catching number after number of Poliwag and battling them. After feeling that she'd had enough, he left her in the water as he took off his shoes and rolled up his pants and stuck his feet in the water. Sure they were clothes he'd bought specifically for their water durability, but he sometimes just liked to feel the water on his skin as well. It was a nice temperature, as well, as it was getting rather late. After a few minutes of staying like this he turned to Taka. "You know . . . I don't mean to be scared . . . It's just sort of overwhelmin' you know? I mean . . . it's been a while since we've been on our own, from our swim over to Kanto. I feel like I'll be betraying you if I use other Pokemon." he began. To which Taka responded by spraying him in the face. "Okay, okay! I get it, you won't be hurt." he said with a laugh as he swatted the water away from his face. "It's just, we've got somethin' special, ya' know?" he said with a laugh as the Remoraid chimed quietly, but happily. Taka then looked at her trainer and shot a short burst of Ice Beam at his face. "Taka! Is that what I think it is? . . . Wait . . . you couldn't have figured out how to use that when we were back in Sprout Tower?!" Micah scolded jokingly as he fell to his back and brushed the bit of frost off of his cheek.
"Heh.
