XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXR O U T E X3 1XXA fairly small route with only one lone trainer. This Route will lead you into the Dark Cave, but you can't enter this area without a pokemon that has the Flash HM. Its too dark to see anywhere, otherwise. You also can't really get very far in this cave without fairly strong pokemon and the Rock Smash HM or the Strength HM. So for now, just head west towards Violet City. I T E M S

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx As the three walked onto Route 31, Blair was beginning to realize how similar all the routes were. Albeit for a few new Pokemon she saw peeking their heads out of bushes, there were no differences whatsoever of the routes. She held the Magby egg closer to her. Nothing could happen to this or she would get i BIG trouble. She sighed and saw a trainer ahead. She faced the group and said, ”Since I didn’t encounter too many wild Pokemon on the way here, could I take this trainer?” She faced forward again and walked to the trainer. These people were nice; they would be okay if she took this trainer, right? The boy advanced and introduced himself. ”The name’s Wade. And I am a Bug Catcher! Go Caterpie!” He presented Blair with a Pokemon, and so did Blair, as well as an attack. ”Go Meowth, use Bite and Scratch continuously and don’t give it a chance to attack.” She calmly said to Nilly, who responded with a loud MEOW and pounced forward to bite the Caterpie on the head somewhere. It latched on while the Caterpie whined and went around the battlefield. It shook violently and the Meowth was off, but not without a Scratch. By now the weak Caterpie had fainted, and Bug Catcher Wade offered more Caterpie for Nilly to beat. ”You know, the harder you try the more chance you have of winning!” The bug catcher tried to convince himself, but Blair shook her head. ”But if I beat your last Caterpie, what chance to you have for this one to win? It doesn’t seem any stronger.” One Bite of Nilly and this Caterpie had also fainted.
The boy sent out another Caterpie, exactly the same as last time. Blair easily took care of this one too, with two Scratches. Contrary to the other Caterpie, this one got a hit in a Nilly, but it was quickly taken care of by the Shell Bell. Wade stood there astounded. ”NO FAIR! That item there is cheating!” He pouted for a little and Blair shrugged. ”That doesn’t matter. No one ever gets past this Pokemon!” It was a Weedle. Blair almost laughed out loud at how pathetic this kid was. He probably would’ve been pretty hard against a level 3 or 4 Pokemon, but not a very strong Meowth. She scanned it with her Pokedex and quickly put it back in her bag. Nilly attacked with a barrage of scratches against the Weedle’s face, and leaped back to let the Weedle recover. The bug Pokemon slowly ran ahead and shot a little purple needle from its spike on its head and it hit Nilly but she didn’t seem to be very phased by it. Vanilla got to the Weedle quickly and used Bite to finish it off. Blair smiled and commended Nilly on a job well done. She had gained a lot of fighting experience from this trainer. Wade looked like he was about to cry, but he stood fast and let Blair come over to him to get her prize money. ”Thanks for a good battle. Some advice; train your Pokemon before standing here waiting for battles. Because you will get no where with what you are doing now.” He smiled hopefully and took all his Pokeballs and ran ahead to Violet, where the three trainers were also headed. Blair made her way back to the group, but Nilly was intent on sniffing a nearby tree. She jumped up to it, and came back down with many items in her mouth. An Pokeball, a Potion and another Potion! Blair sighed, but happily took the items from Meowth. I don't know what I am going to do with all these Potions!

Glynnis roamed around Route 31 with Charla for a little bit while the other's battled and trained their Pokemon. She wondered if she'd spot any different Pokemon here on this route. But as she looked, she seemed to only come across the same old bug Pokemon again and again. Charla beat them easily enough. Then, all of a sudden, she spotted a Pokemon she hadn't seen yet. It looked like a little weed, or flower. It was in the grass and didn't see Glynnis or make any move to attack yet. Glyn reached in her bag for her Pokedex. Bellsprout - the flower Pokemon. Even though its body is extremely skinny, it is blindingly fast when catching its prey.
"Fast huh?" Glynnis looked at Charla. Just before, they had found an empty poke ball on the floor someone had dropped. It made her realize that she hadn't caught any other Pokemon yet. "Maybe it'll come in handy, Charla. Let's sneak up on it and try catchin' it!" she said in a hushed voice. Charla nodded in understanding and readied herself. As quickly and as quietly as possible, she charged through the grass toward the unsuspecting Bellsprout. By the time Bellsprout realized what was happening, Charla had spewed a ball of flame at it, knocking it to the ground. Not missing a beat, Glynnis hurled the empty poke ball at the Bellsprout just like Prof. Elm's aide had instructed her to do. The ball shook violently for a few seconds before it stopped, dinged, and the red light went out. Glynnis smiled. She'd successfully captured her first Pokemon!
She ran over and picked up the ball, placing it on her belt. "Good job, Charla! You were awesome!" Charla seemed pleased with herself, and the two made their way back to the group. On their way, they stumbled across another potion lying on the ground. Glynnis picked it up.
"Huh...you know, I wonder if it's the same person who keeps dropping all of this stuff? maybe they have a whole in their bag or something," she mused. She used the potion on Charla, who very much needed a good healing. Then she rejoined the group.

As the three of them traveled on to Route 31, there was a plethora of new things to be discovered, Blair even got herself into another trainer battle. And Glynnis had interested herself in one thing or another. So, Micah decided he'd travel along his own route in the grass, shuffling around a bit to try and stir up any wild Pokemon that might be hiding. He then saw several heads pop up from the shrubbery and then duck back down. They were rather odd looking heads, and after a quick spurt of information from his Pokedex, he found out the Pokemon who were playing some sort of game were actually the grass-Pokemon, Bellsprout. Micah was a water-type trainer and knew he'd have the disadvantage against the grass Pokemon, so he left them alone for now. He didn't want any more trouble just right now. Returning to the group, Micah had a rather grumpy look on his face. "Hmph. Stupid Grass-types . . . I'll figure out a way to beat you." he said, shaking his hand back at the Bellsprouts. At that moment he then noticed the pokeball in Glynnis' hand. "Oh, cool! You caught a new Pokemon? I've got three already, actually . . . though I've not gathered the courage to try and use them in battle yet, honestly. Plus, I don't know how they'll handle dry land." he then said, curious as to what Pokemon was in the ball. He then turned to Blair who'd finished her business there as well. He then looked down to his feet where he spotted a few fallen items, perhaps there was a bird Pokemon stealing stuff? That'd be no good.

can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx As Blair rejoined the group from her last trainer battle, she heard Micah get excited about how Glyn had caught another Pokemon. Blair walked up to them and joined the conversation. ”Wow, a new Pokemon? That’s cool.” She smiled warmly and looked down at her egg. She did really wish she had a new Pokemon too. She just hadn’t found the right one. Hopefully this ‘Magmar’ Mr. Pokemon told her about would be a good addition to her team. When it hatched anyways. It wasn’t even shaking. Blair just wanted her baby Pokemon already! But at the same time she really didn’t want it to hatch soon. Because this yellow and red egg gave off a very distinct heat that warmed Blair’s arms as she held it close. It was nice, she had to admit. No more time to think, as Blair stumbled upon a whole army of Pokemon at her feet. This was the most she’s ever seen in one place! She transferred her egg to one arm and took out Nilly’s Pokeball with the other. ”Now Vanilla, make sure you watch out because there are a lot of Pokemon. Use Bite most of the time and Scratch when you can’t use Bite!” Her Meowth handled it very well from the moment she got out of the Pokeball. It used Bite many times for each Pokemon, and soon they had all either fainted or scurried away to the undergrowth. Blair laughed at her Meowth, who hadn’t got hurt much even if she’d gone without the Shell Bell and was now sitting calmly on the ground licking it’s paws. Blair decided to keep her out for a little longer so she could enjoy the fresh air. Even if Nilly did like her Pokeball better, outside was a nice change of pace.
Soon Blair stumbled upon another one of those Apricorn trees. This time the berry on top was black. She was hesitant to pick it up, because she didn’t know if they were supposed to be black. Were they rotten or was that just natural. Either way, it was picked and promptly put beside it’s other colored companions in Blair’s bag.

Glynnis smiled as Micah and Blair applauded her on her catch. She took the poke ball off of her belt and released her newly-caught Bellsprout for them to see.
"I thought I might try my luck at catching a Pokemon, since that's what trainers do and all. Turns out, I'm not too bad," she said. She re-called the Bellsprout to its poke ball and clipped it back onto her belt. "It's funny, though...I don't know if I really care for this Pokemon all that much now that I caught it. It's a strange little thing. You saw them too, didn't you? The Bellsprout around here, I mean," she asked them.
The three of them soon moved on after that. Blair found another apricorn tree with black apricorns. Since Glynnis liked collecting those things, she picked one up too and placed it in her bag. Looking ahead, she noticed a big building and pointed it out to Blair and Micah.
"Hey, what's that there?" she asked. "Is that the way to Violet City?"

"Ech. Grass Pokemon. Hate 'em." he said, for obvious reasons, as his current team was completely vulnerable to the grass-type Pokemon. "Oi. I'm gettin' a real strong hankerin' to go fishin'." he said, patting his pack where he kept his collapsible Good Rod. "Or for a dip. Maybe Violet City has some good places to swim!" he then chimed hopefully. He saw a body of water off to the side, but he wasn't about to swim in there, though he usually didn't mind, this body of water looked particularly off-setting to him. And still, they didn't hav ethe time. "If we have the time for me to take a dip, I'd like it. And I think that is the way!" he then added, for clarification as he began to continue on down Route 31 along the path that Glynnis had pointed out, picking one of the black apricorns from the tree and defeating several bug Pokemon along the way. They'd hopefully be arriving at their next destination soon.

She could already see a tall building towering over the trees. She checked her Pokegear Map for the layout of the town, what they could to there, what important places there were, and lots of stuff. She was glad that the old guide back in Cherrygrove gave her the Map Card, because she’d be literally lost without it. She searched the zoom-in of the town for the tall tower and told everyone once she saw it. ”That’s Sprout Tower. It says,” Blair got in closer to her Pokegear to make it easier to concentrate on those small words while walking. ”That the sage there will give you an item if he thinks you are ‘worthy.’ ” Blair shrugged. ”I’d like to go there sometime. Wouldn’t you guys? Oh, and Micah, there is a huge lake/pond in Violet on the way to Sprout Tower. But I don’t know if you would be allowed to swim in that. It might be sacred or something.” She said sacred with a twist in her voice, as if she was sarcastically scared of it. "Oh yeah, and the first gym is there too, if any of you guys are going to be challenging it." She put her Pokegear back and switched her hold of her egg back to both arms. It did look like they were getting closer, though.

Natalie “Nat” Benoit  Natalie and Hoshi emerged onto Route 31, the sun continuing to set in the horizon. Looking down at the PokeNav, she could tell that they were starting to get close to Violet City, which was just as well. She was definitely ready for a nice rest at the Pokemon Center. Turning her attention to her travel companion, she smiled at the purple-haired trainer, tossing her red hair over her shoulders.
"So, we're getting close to the first Gym in Violet City. Are you feeling ready for it," she asked with a smile, tilting her head to the side as if waiting for an answer. For her own part, she was feeling a little nervous about it all, especially considering she just decided that she was going to challenge the gyms a few hours prior. But, with Sophie on her side, how could she lose? The two of them were quickly growing to be the best of friends, and she was sure that they could conquer ay challenge that came their way. Ironically, at that same moment, a boy stepped out of the grass, holding a pokeball in her face.
"Hi! My name's Wade, and I challenge you to a battle." Natalie could do nothing but accept, and as he released his first Caterpie into battle, Natalie responded by sending Henrietta on out. The battle started with the bug pokemon using String Shot, Henrietta responding with a tackle attack. The battle ended rather quickly as another tackle attack connected with the bug pokemon, his second Caterpie almost as easily dispatched of as the first one. His Weedle caused her to return Henrietta to her pokeball, instead ending the battle with Sophie. He managed to land a Poison Sting attack, but at the end of the day he was no match for her combination of Defense Curl and Tackle attacks. Collecting her winnings, the redhead tossed her blonde bangs from her eyes as she knelt down to scoop Sophie into her arms for a little well-deserved praise.
"Looks like we're getting ready for the gym battle already," she said with a chuckle, turning to smile at Hoshi. Changes: ⊗ Pokemon: xx- Sophie (Phanpy) HP: 6/9

Coral chittered angrily, protesting her trainer's doubt. The Aipom then proceeded to make faces at her trainer. Hoshi rolled her eyes but gave into a small smile. Noticing Natalie battling another trainer-that would make two for both of them-Hoshi decided to battle some wild pokemon. Hoshi sent out Dream, as Coral launched from her shoulder. The trainer waded into the tall grass, the low light levels made it hard to see what pokemon awaited her, if any did. After several minutes, two spinarak launched themselves from the bushes. Hoshi's pokemon decided to take action to protect her. Each one took out a pokemon with scratch. Hoshi ventured further into the grass only to stumbled upon something she couldn't see. She bent down, shifting the egg to one arm-she would have to find a better way to carry this-and picked up the the things she tripped over. It was an unused pokeball and potion. Grateful, she put them into her bag. It was then that more pokemon decided to attack the unsuspecting purple haired girl. This time it was a group of four rattata. Again, her pokemon reacted to the assault. Each one took on two but each gained a hit before ending the battle. Hoshi sighed in relief. It made her overjoyed to know her pokemon had a watch over her. In a flash, several pokemon broke free from the grass. There were three rattata and five hoothoot that emerged from the grass. Hoshi made a split decision. "Coral, you take on the hoothoot. The girl tilted her head to the side. "You disagree?" The pink aipom nodded vigorously. "Alright, prove me wrong by taking the next pokemon by yourself." The aipom waded into the grass, awaiting it's next opponent to appear. The wait wasn't long. A bellsprout wandered near Coral, curious to what she was doing. The aipom launched an astonish at the unsuspecting grass pokemon. The attack hit nicely but infuriated bellsprout. In retailation, a vine whip was let loose. Both Hoshi and Dream flinched as their friend failed to dodge the attack. After a few exchanges, Coral finally beat her opponent. She walked triumphantly back to her trainer. Hoshi gently touched her aipom. "You did good but you got hit too many times," she whispered to the aipom. "You should rest." She returned Coral back to her ball.
