Okay, I'm to the point where I need to start doing some art in order to get any farther with the coding of my site. I have all the base art for the characters, but now I need different hair styles and clothes for each of the places of origin that you can pick from. I'd like to have just a few choices for each area, but feel free to suggest as many as you like. I added some off the top of my head. Feel free to contest those as well. smile
And if you have no idea what I'm talking about, ask. Sometimes I don't have a concept of what people know and don't. wink

for me, traditional styles would be nice for the mideast especially, and also India and South America.
when i think of north america and western europe i think of professional, because that is where the big trnasnational corporations are. Oh, and Japan too.
but the western hair I would have short and curly, while for Japan i like the samurai and geisha kind with the kanzashi accessories

Yeah, I was thinking that there are people who dress in western styles everywhere, but now I'm thinking I'll only use that for the ones you mentioned. People can always get more later if they want.
I based my first hairstyle on the one I did for Bookwyrme. I call it "Farrah." mrgreen Critique?
ETA: Do you think there would be any problem with me calling it that? I suppose I could call it "Angel" instead (as in Charlie's).
Here's a second. This one could use a name. Also, please let me know if anything bothers you about them.

The guy base with the long hair makes me giggle. I have no idea why.
For hair for Eastern Europe, I suggest a single braid. My mom grew up in Lithuania and Poland, and whenever I braid my hair or my sister braids hers, she's like, "Oh, you look so Lithuanian!" Plus, when we were part of a Lithuanian dancing troupe when we were like nine, almost all the women braided their hair.
Plus, I just like single braids.

Me too. It makes me think of Hedwig. lol  Do you mean a single braid down the back? Hmm, I can try it, but it will be difficult, since you won't be able to see the back of your character. (: I love Eastern European folk costumes. They're so colorful! I don't have any Eastern European blood, but nearly everyone else in Pittsburgh does. wink

They're definitely colorful. They're extremely heavy and hot to wear, though. And the crowns are seven kinds of annoying. My mom had to put like fifty bobby pins in my hair to hold the thing on.

Do the colors look okay to you guys? I have a Trinitron monitor, so I want to be sure it translates well enough.

my mom's comp, which i still must share, makes all dark features obscure.
they likely look fine to most people though.
i do prefer the shorter style for the guys.

I would love to eventually do traditional costumes from everywhere!
I had a dirndl when I was little. My grandmother was German. My mom still has an adult size one. (:
