xXLight In The DarkXx Captain

Mist World:
An old church, very gothic, very fancy on the outside. Inside, however, it's rather simple. Wooden pews and a wooden podium up at the front, on flat, carpet floors. There is a crusifix just behind the podium, hanging from the wall, though it has been spray painted and singed, as if someone doesn't want it there.
Other Side:
The pews are broken and charred, the walls are dark and also burned, and now the floor is wooden, and dusty, the carpet now ripped up. The crusifix is still there, only now it's a charred body that hangs from it, unmoving, blood still dripping slightly.

Sean thought he heard someone call out to him as the door to the church closed behind him, but he chose to ignore it for the moment.
He looked around at the burnt-out church, idly digging his foot into some of the torn-up carpet, the place was somber and quiet, and an absolute mess.
"Hello?" he called out.
ooooo
That's when he saw the two figures once again, sitting on one of the pews at the front, their images flickering like candles caught in the wind.
ooooo
He walked over to the front, and stood by the side of the pews, staring at seemingly nothing.
ooooo
"Sit still!" the woman hissed sharply, swatting the boy on the back of the head.
Soon the boy began to cry, the tears streaming heavily down his face and soaking the front of his shirt.
"Quit your whining, you stupid brat!" the woman growled. "You should be grateful that God has let you into his house to atone for your sins!"
ooooo
Sean felt a sudden swelling of sadness.
Why did this all seem familiar?

Julia looked at the huge doors. They towered over her like she was a child, intimidating, dark..
"I always hated this place as a child." she said.
She then made an effort to push the doors. she was able to move them a crack.
She saw a man standing in the front.
"Help me please! There are monsters out here!" she scramed

Sean heard the door creak open, and winced slightly at the loud voice of a woman echoing through.
He glanced at the door, then back at the pew for a moment, looking around as if searching for something.
"Dammit..." he sighed. "They're gone."
Slowly, he approached the door, looking mildly annoyed, and stopped a few feet short as his pocket flashlight illuminated the face of what appeared to be a girl in a black dress peeking in the doorway.
She looked real enough, full of color, face twisted with fear.
Casually, he placed his hand on his forehead and slipped his eyepatch back into place.
No sense frightening the poor girl anymore than she already was, if indeed she was a girl.
Though the fact that his clothes and face were heavily flecked with blood probably didn't help either, but he didn't much care at the moment.
"Who are you?" Sean asked, his voice tinged with suspicion, fist clutched tightly around the handle of his umbrella. "And if you're so scared, then why don't you just come inside?"

Julia replied
"Well.. My name is Julia, Julia Garland. This was my hometown and I just got back from a tradeschool."
Julia pushed the doors
"The doors seem to be stuck, can you help me?"
She looked behind her and saw a drunken-figure that had it's hands bound near it's chest and was stumbling toward her.
"It's getting closer! Help me!!"

Sean heard the slap-shuffle of the creature's feet behind her and gritted his teeth in frustration.
"s**t..." he hissed, getting a good grip on the door and pulling hard.
Soon, the door groaned open just far enough to allow Julia to enter.
"Come on." he said, taking a step to the side to make room for her.
His good eye narrowed as the creature reached the steps and began slowly working its way up.

When the doors opened enough and Julia was able to get in, she sunk to the floor and started to cry.
"What happened here?" She said through tears "This place is dark and what are those things?"
She stood up and said softly. "What is your name anyway?"

"Hold on a sec." he said, stepping between her and the open door.
He waited until the creature reached the top of the steps, then thrust his umbrella forward, spearing it through its faceless head.
As it reared back, losing its balance, Sean then heaved a mighty kick to its abdomen, sending it tumbling down the stairs, but not before a fine mist of black liquid escaped from a hole in its chest.
Some of the spray fell on his left arm, and Sean grunted as the acidic liquid began stinging his hand and eating through the fabric of his sleeve.
"God dammit!" he cursed, shaking his arm, and using the other to push the door closed behind him.
Rubbing his wounds, he then turned around to address the sobbing woman.
"I'm Sean. Sean Martin." he replied, rather unemotionally. "And as far as what the hell is going on and what those things are, your guess is as good as mine."

Julia was just startled, she didn't notice the blood until this moment. Now this man, Sean, now looks frightening to her, but at the same time like a hero.
"Sean? Thats a lovely name." Julia said. then without a word she lunged at him and wrapped her arms around him. She then looked at his arm and hand.
"Um...Here, let me get something for that." Julia looked in her purse and found a pack of portable tissues.
"Do you think these will work, Sean?"

"Unnh..." Sean blanched, he wasn't used to being touched, and his arm involuntarily went rigid as she held it in her hands.
He had to resist his initial instinct to yank it away from her, and instead frowned slightly and turned his head to the side.
"That should be fine." he replied sullenly, then added, "You might want to save some of those if you get blood on your hands though."

Julia looked at her hand.
"B-BLOOD?!" she screamed
she held her other hand to her head and stared to breathe heavily.
"Blood...can't...stand...sight of..." she said weakly "...Blood!"
Julia then collapsed in a dead faint.

Sean grimaced, and stared at her collapsed form.
He debated briefly on leaving her there and continuing on his way east, the last thing he needed in this town as it was now was a screaming monster magnet.
He took a moment to massage his forehead before shaking the thought loose.
"No, no..." he muttered to himself, as much as he hated being relied on by others, "I'm not gonna be held responsible if something happens to her."
He knelt down and scooped up some of the fallen tissues, then rubbed her hands and his own clean, before lightly tapping her cheek a few times with the back of his hand.
"Hey, you. Wake up."
As he waited for a response, he craned his neck around to see if there was the off chance a container of water was still intact.

Julia opened her eyes slowly, the dim light of the church was the only thing that met her eyes. She then shot up like a bullet and looked around.
"S-Sean?! Where are you?!" She got up and walked around at the church, she looked at what must of at one time must of been a pulpit. She looked through some old, bloodstained papers.
"Ughh..blood..." she said. but she tried hard not to be sick.
Wait...She heard a sound. Julia looked up startled that the silence of the old building was broken by what was that footsteps?

"Yeah? What? I'm right here."
Sean came back into view, carrying what appeared to be a stone saucer, full of water.
He sighed, and set the container down on a nearby table.
"Guess I won't need this, then. Seeing as how you're awake, and all."
He crossed the front of the pew area, and glanced up when he saw something peculiar out of the corner of his eye.
It was a body, obviously dead, hanging from the crucifix, blood still dripping from its mangled limbs.
Sean sneered, but said nothing.
Instead, he turned his back to it and kept it in the dark, just because he knew if Julia saw it, she might freak out.

Julia pounced on Sean's back and said
"Thank you so much for coming back blaugh I was afraid I lost you!"
Julia then dropped to the ground and rummaged around in her purse.
"Here, when that monster snuck up on my my pocket radio was acting up. Maybe that could come in handy." She then smiled and looked back at the damaged pulpit.
"Oh, I also saw something strange on the podium. It was kind of bloody so I don't really want to look at it again."
