Is it just me? Or did anyone else cry, or at least get watery eyed when Eward left at the beginning of New Moon? I had to stop for a full 5 minutes before I could continue reading after it said, "He was gone."

I think I was at school when I first read that part so I had to try not to cry and I stopped and read the sentance, "He was gone," over and over again.

I was in hysterics when he said "I don't want you anymore". At that point I just broke out in tears, but I had to keep reading because I knew he had to come back for Eclipse so I was nonstop reading until that point, then I kept going. My parents were giving me odd looks the next few days because I kept crying so much when I read that part.

I wanted to cry but I couldn't. Its not easy to make me cry, I have never cried from reading a book or watching a movie. Only real life things can affect me. Well, I do cry when I'm mad, just not sad for some reason... unless somebody I know dies.

i don't remember crying the 1st or any other time i've read it,which hasn't been a lot since i don't like New Moon very much. but i was re-reading it the other day,[i'm re-reading all the books again in preparation for Breaking Dawn] and i was bawling like a baby when Edward left. it's so depressing. i think it's because i actual know what love is know and put myself in place of Bella.

Actually, no. I didn't cry. I might be one of the few Twilight fans who holds no love for Edward. When he left, I thought he was a jerk. It wasn't a devastating moment.
In fact, when he came back, I was annoyed at Bella for forgiving him.

While the entire middle portion of the book ripped my heart out, I didn't cry.
Not to compare the two at all, but the only fictional novel series I've ever cried while reading is Harry Potter, but only when Sirius is mentioned.
The parts that hurt the most when I read it however are the few pages with just the month names on them. THAT makes my heart ache!! New Moon is EASILY my favorite because it stirs such strong emotion like that! Anyone can make you feel warm and fuzzy, but it takes true talent to make you feel so hurt you just want to go jump off a cliff [no pun intended] or something! OH I love this book. heart

I was curing Edward out during the whole break up process. But at the same time, I understood where he was coming from with his P.O.V., and I quite enjoyed the middle myself because you kinda got a glimpse of Bella without Edward being the center of her life, and her process of getting over him. . .until she discovered his voice.
Overall, this is perhaps my favorite book. *nods*
