Right now I have my socially awkward Tasogare in a ziploc container (with water in it of course) while I procrastinate on cleaning his tank. I have decided to let him hang out with me at the computer. He seems to be enjoying the new scenery (although I certainly do not plan on keeping him in a 1/4 gallon container for much longer). I figured I'd give him something really interesting to do by putting a tiny plastic Mudkip in his water with him. If you know what a mudkip looks like, you'll know that their looks can be easily compared to a flaring betta. The mudkip is about half Tasogare's size but he was very cautious with the mudkip at first. For about a minute he was flaring everything at the mudkip but staying still. Then he realized the mudkip wasn't going to attack him and now he seems to enjoy swimming around it. A few seconds ago he looked the kip in the face and gave it a little headbutt.
I don't have any pictures of this situation but I do have a picture of Tasogare featuring cat.

And here is a Mudkip.

Ah. I love the first few days of having a new betta. They're so interesting to watch as they explore their new homes.
