Hey everyone!

Yes, i am back from among the dead, not having posted since august or something crazy like that... Currently, I am writing the poem for the other contest going on, which i also find interesting. nonetheless I have decided to enter a new contest...

This contest will also have a theme... Weird happenings... It will be about events or thoughts that come to you as weird or out of the ordinary. They can be real or invented, as you wish. It may be interesting to use another person's perspective, to add a bit of difficulty, for those who think this subject is too easy.

there are not really any rules, but I will explain the procedure. There judging will probably be done by the people who entered the contest, though they won't be able to judge their poems. There will be a strict point system that will have a bonus section for the use of another point of view and for popular opinion(most external and internal votes). The point system will be pretty rigid.

Here's the deal. When you post you poems, i would like you to put a few details with it. Before the poem, I would like to know if the point system would work, according to you, or if we should only stick to points. I also want to know if my poem, which I will post as an example, should be entered in the contest, considering that it may be too much of an advantage considering I created the contest. Also, it would be fun to have a title to the poem, if possible. Finally, at the end of the poem, please write the weird thing you wrote about in the poem.

You have 2 weeks to do this, unless you need an extension. if so, please tell me as well!

here's my example and maybe my entry

Judging system: I think it could be interesting to use a point system, but it would be more complicated then a simple voting system.

Title: Desert Staring

Staring out across the land,
Weeping, his destiny at hand,
A figure stays seated, searching
For something no one is seeing.

Sitting on his sandy dune,
Thoughts floating with the moon,
His shadow crippled and helpless,
Seeming lost and senseless.

Watching the offering of the span,
Another figure approached this man,
Willing him to tell his tale,
Curious to know the reason of his avail.

Eyes on what only he could see
The shadow answered the plea
Saying he was a simple soldier
Waiting for the orders of his commander.

Watching as the desert winds stirred up,
The shadow lifted his cracked cup,
Explaining he was married to a princess
Who he left to join this mess.

His soul touching the spirits around,
He told the newcomer that he had found
The perfect women, his wife
But was forced to guard this post with his life.

Never blinking or even flitting,
He explained how she is, beautiful and fitting,
Smart, fantastic, loving and diligent
How she was simply brilliant.

Finally turning to look at the passer-by,
He started to lift from where he lie,
Relieved that he could finally become baron
And join his princess, up in heaven.

Weird event: A man who watched the desert even after he was truly dead, sworn to life but giving his afterlife as well
