CaMeRoN ChRiStOpHeR RiVeRs! She created me: ashlovesdraco! Found in the baby names book: Cameron || Christopher || Rivers My head automatically turns at: Cam, Cameron, Rivers, Prince Cameron Christopher Rivers (only if I hear my parents saying it though) I'll pretend I didn't hear you: if you call me anything other than those names When you first meet me you'll see that I'm: A shy bookworm who should get out in the sun more But when you get to know me you'll see that I'm actually: An energetic guy that knows how to be fun and studious. I am a: guy That (unfortunately) gets nervous around the: girlsI've always been labeled intelligent so I guess that's why the hat put me in: Ravenclaw My mum gave birth to me on: May 9 And according to the horoscope section that makes me a: Taurus Recently, I turned: 11 This is actually: my 1st year at Hogwarts My mum and dad are: Chrissy and Gregory Rivers And they're muggles so that makes me a: Muggleborn My brand new wand is: 9 1/4 inches long, made of: yew wood, with a core of: dragon heartstring When times get dark: a hound dog comes and saves me I have him only for mail reasons: a barn owl He carries my mail: K.C. Do I play quidditch?: No, I'm not quite ready...hopefully I can play next year. Looks don't mean much but: everyone has them. Cameron inherited most of his looks from his mum; the black and soft hair, the warm and inviting smile, the freckles that decorate his upper cheeks, and his skinny frame. Only his soft brown eyes come from his dad. Cameron's soft and wavy black hair starts on the top of his head and ends just and inch below his ears. Though he combs it in the morning he tends to run his hand through it quite often during the day, making it messy. With bangs, it's hard to see his dark and arched eyebrows. The eyes that came from his dad are a rich shade of brown and are often soft looking and bright with interest. When excited they sparkle and shine. Light freckles decorate his upper cheeks and are hard to see on his straight nose, but they are indeed there. Though his upper lip is thin, his lower one is slightly plumper, making it full. Beneath these lips are his pearly white and straight teeth which he has his mother to thank for. The previous year his mother the orthodonist gave him braces because his teeth were slightly crooked. Once the braces were off, his teeth were whitened since it's hard to brush your teeth when there's metal covering them.
Cameron stands at a small 5 feet 2 inches, but the doctor said it's very likely for him to grow a lot more over the years since both his parents are so tall. Though he has a skinny build he does have muscle from being so active. The muscles are in his arms and legs and are normally covered up with baggy jeans and casual, long sleeved button ups, which are sometimes paired with a simple blazer. If there's ever the needed occasion, Cameron will dress up in a suit, but will add converses. Just a sign that tells you "I'm going to be myself always." He never wears anything else besides converses, unless of course, he's going barefoot. When the weather get's warmer he'll ease down and wear t-shirts, polos, flannel shirts, and baggy shorts. He doesn't enjoy the Hogwarts uniforms all that much because they aren't very comfortable and constantly remind him of buissness, as his father does. Past to present: When Chrissy and Gregory married, their friends were quite surprised. How could two such different people be able to stay in each other's presence for more than two hours? But that was the reason why they fell for each other in the first place, they were different from anybody they knew. When they were together, they were both able to learn new and interesting things because of the other. Their relationship was just like the saying: opposites attract. When they married Chrissy was just turning 23 and Gregory was 24. They were both had busy careers, Chrissy was a children's orthodonist and Gregory was the leader of a big electronics company. The time they did spend with each other was little, but they still loved each other very much. Since they were both so busy they never thought of having children, and even if they did, their only choice of means of watching it would be to send that child to a highly recommended child care facility. And neither parent wanted to that, it would be unfair to the child.
But one night, Chrissy told Gregory that she was in fact pregnant, with a boy, and she had all ready talked to her boss about it, it was all right for her to take of work for the baby if she was willing to work again two months after her baby's birth. She expected Gregory to be extremely angry for not telling him first but he wasn't. No, instead he was completely silent. As Chrissy sat there she wondered if he was in shock. But he wasn't. It wasn't until a full three minutes of anxious waiting from Chrissy when Gregory finally outbursted, "That's wonderful darling!" Chrissy shocked, burst into tears and hugged her husband and spoke, "Just imagine honey, he can take over your electronics company when he becomes older." Gregory like this idea very much, but he would learn in years to come that his son wouldn't.
Chrissy was rushed to the hospital late into the night on May 8th, but it wasn't until the fist few minutes of May 9th that her first child was born. Chrissy and Gregory named their healthy baby boy Cameron Christopher Rivers, which they jokingly told the nurse, "his name is fit for a prince...Prince Cameron Christopher Rivers!" When it was all right to take Cameron home, Chrissy and Gregory rushed home, only to fall asleep as soon as they hit the couch. Out like turned off lightbulbs, baby Cameron stared at his parents with interest, his rich brown eyes shining in the houses light. He sat in his mother's arms, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and stayed there, staring, until he felt his mother wake up. It was then when little baby Cameron finally went to sleep.
Over the next two months, Cameron was treated with nothing but love from his mum. Chrissy gave him constant attention, made sure he was fed at regular hours, and bought him many toys to keep him entertained. But when her two months were up, she had to go right back to work and she sent Cameron to a highly recommended child care center. He was sent to the daffodil room and it was there where he spent most of his life. The other children in the daffodil room had parents very much like Cameron's, they were simply too caught up in their work to constantly take care of their child, and heaven forbid them to quit their jobs! That was simply out of the question. The two care takers that were in charge of the daffodil room noticed that Cameron was a bit different from the other children. He seemed to always get what he wanted from the other children and learned the concepts that they were to teach quicker than all the other children. They didn't take too much notice to the second aspect, they just suspected with two highly intelligent parents, Cameron was likely to learn things quickly, but they did keep a close eye on him...just in case.
Cameron was sent to school like every child and it was there where he discovered his love for books and recess. During recess he ran around with all the other boys, wasting all the energy he had inside him for that short period of forty five minutes. When he was outside he felt like he could be anyone and do anything he wanted to do, without being teased or made fun of by the other children. He and his friends often played american football and occassionally got into trouble when things got too rowdy and wound up. But as soon as he was back in the classroom he payed close attention to every word the teacher said and didn't speak out of turn. His hand was pratically always raised into the air, and it was only when his arm became sore, that his hand would be down. Soon, when the other boys finally caught onto Cameron's duo personalities, he was picked last for all the teams. He used to always be called on first for recess team pickings or even captain, but when the boys learned of him being a teacher's pet, they no longer picked him to be first or to be captain, he was last pick. But it was only because no boy wanted to have a teacher's pet on their team, no matter how fast that boy was.
Feeling rejected and sad, Cameron didn't want to let the boys get to him, so he ditched them and spent recess time by himself. Cameron spent recess running around the playground area. He figured if he couldn't play football and other sports with his regular friends, that he could become the best runner on the school's track team. When he felt that he needed to time himself he asked his dad for a stopwatch. His father of course gave him one from his company and encouraged his son to not push himself so hard on this track thing, and to "concentrate more on his studies." Cameron promised not to get too involved in this track thing and continued bringing good grades home to his delighted parents.
Luckily for Cameron, all his hard work payed off when track season came around. He ended up being the best long distance runner on the team. Though all the other boys thought it was cooler to be on the sprinting team, Cameron knew that sprinting was for the kids who didn't have enough energy to last on the long distance team. Since he continued bringing home good grades his parents didn't care that he was on the track team, and when he told them that he was the best runner on the long distance team his parents gave him fake enthusiasm just to make him happy.
Recently, on Cameron's 11th birthday (his parent had taken off from work for the occassion), a stranger had visited their house unexpectedly. It was in the middle of cake and ice cream when the stranger entered the house. He was a small man who claimed he was a wizard. Cameron, taken by surprise stuttered that wizards couldn't be real. They were only mentioned in fairytales and fantasies afterall! The small man laughed and simply replied, "Well than young man, you obviously are real!" Cameron was confused and asked him to explain, why wouldn't he (Cameron) be real? The small man didn't answer him, instead he handed him a letter. A letter that had Cameron's name on it. Cameron still confused, took the letter with great care and began to read. The letter claimed that he too was a wizard! Imagine that, Cameron Christopher Rivers a wizard! An actual, honest-too-goodness wizard! He let his parents read the letter, but they didn't show any expression of disbelief so Cameron smiled his bright and wonderful smile and asked the man where could he get all of his supplies, he had never seen any of these supplies that were listed in any of the stores he visited.
This only made the man laugh. He told him that they would both go to the place that had all these things, that was, if he did have his parent's permission to leave right away. Jumping up and down, Cameron begged his parents to let him go with this man so he could learn more about him being a wizard. When his parents agreed he smiled like a child on christmas and gave them both big hugs. Cameron was led by the man to a strange bar, where a man named Tom greeted him. Not wanting to be rude, he politely returned his greetings, but silently urged his escort with his eyes to go faster. His escort laughed once again, "Not to worry young man, we're almost there..." He stopped in front of a wall and pulled out a stick. He told Cameron that he would be getting a stick soon, but he didn't call the stick a stick, he called it a wand. With a few taps on some of the bricks with his wand, the blocks moved to make a doorway. Cameron's eyes instantly widened at the things he was seeing.
Everything seemed as though they were alive and moving. The street they were walking on was so crowded, never had Cameron seen so many people at once in his life. Through the course of the day Cameron had bought all of his things plus an owl which he named K.C. He kindly thanked the man when he was given all his supplies. Cameron's escort was so kind, treating him like a son, he payed for everything out of his own pocket. Cameron, trying to be a gentleman told him that it wasn't neccessary to do that, but his escort just smiled and told him not to worry. He had never had a son of his own, so he was never able to use this money to buy things for a young wizard like himself. He simply told Cameron that it was his way of saying Happy Birthday. Cameron kindly thanked the man when he got home and told him that he looked forward to seeing him on the first of september.
Cameron having read Hogwarts, A History and all his other schoolbooks knows all he needs to know about Hogwarts...or so he thinks. Monkey see, monkey do: only takes place in the classroom for Cameron. While in class Cameron is extra attentative, he listens to every word the teacher says, and follows the actions and motions the teacher tells the class to do excatly. He excells in the classroom without difficulty, but doesn't feel the need to tell everyone about it. He feels that bragging is unecessary for somebody with the intelligence that he has. After all, that's why he was given the gift of common sense, right? Though Cameron is intelligent and had a wide vocabulary, he doesn't use it very often. Often, his wide vocabulary isn't needed and he would use more time explaining answers and methods if he used his lexicon instead of regular, everyday words. So, Cameron speaks like a regular eleven year old that has a normal sized lexicon. But, if he does hear you using awfully incorrect grammar such as "Me and Larry went to the..." etc. etc. then he'll have to correct you. Your incorrect grammar only hurts his brain and ears.
Outside of the classroom Cameron is a lively and athletic boy who likes running and playing american football. He'll be up to playing a sport with you if you ask and he's up to any physical challenge. Over coming these physical challenges or doing these active activities are just as satisfying to him as acing a test. But he doesn't have to always be doing something physical to be pleased. He could be equally as pleased sitting by himself in a comfortable chair and reading any sort of book. He's always carrying a book around, he has a small collection of "travel books," the ones he carries everywhere either because they're his favorites, or because they're a convienient size, easy for carrying around.
Lately, Cameron has found himself to be quite nervous around the female species. He often finds himself smiling at almost everything they say, laughing at any comment that is slightly funny, and his hands running through his hair, which makes it even more fluffy and poofy. For some reason he tends to do all these things around any girl he finds cute. He's been trying to figure out why he all of a sudden has these odd and out of place habits when a cute girl is around...but the only logical reason he has come up with so far is hormones.
He also tends to over analyze and think things over in his head when you're asking him a question in a regular conversation. People find themselves standing around for a few minutes before they actually get an answer out of him. Cameron does this because he'd like to be friends with everyone, so he tries his best to think of the best reply he can. While the person he should be talking just stands there, Cameron appears as though he's day dreaming or confused, but really questions are running around in his head. These questions help him decide the best way to answer the question you asked him in a regular conversation. This habit only happens when someone asks him a question, so if the person learns of his odd habit and doesn't ask him any questions, Cameron can talk to the person without any troubles.
Giving Cameron any form of sweets is a mistake. He becomes really hyper and pratically bounces on the walls. This might look absolutely hilarious to innocent bystanders but Cameron becomes very embarressed once he has settled down. Things I like: books, running, american football, being in the classroom, physical challenges, sports, earning/recieving good grades, a well-told story, and girls. Things I don't like: the idea of someday owning and running his dad's electronic company, braces, people who brag about their intelligence, lazy people, On a side note: Cameron's mum is pregnant with another child and is expecting soon, so Cameron is expecting a letter from his parents soon with the good news. Also, when any talk of later careers come up, Cameron finds some excuse to get him out of the conversation as quickly as possibly due to the situation between him, his dad, and his dad's electronic company. What's Currently Up With Me I'm feeling: Really, really, really excited. I can't believe I'm inside Hogwarts!
I'm thinking: 'I might just become pretty good friends with this Charlie guy..he's competitive, like me! And I like healthy competition.
I'm with: Charlie Thorne and a ton of other loud students in the great hall.
I'm wearing: some big robes that I bought with my wizard sponsor while I was in that fascinating place called Diagon Alley.
I really hope that: I like it here.
