you know it.
So, as many might have noticed, the Maho Negima RP is officially inactive. But there are still people who wish to enjoy Mahora Academy! So, we propose that we raise this dead horse! What we need to do is-
~clean out unnecessary or inactive threads/forums
~Give the guild a visual facelift
~reconsider the schematics of the RP a bit
~RECRUIT MORE MEMBERS!
This thread is for the general discussion of the revival of the guild. Anyone and everyone, come and lend us your power!
NOTE: any threads you don't see now have been moved to the "Old threads archive" section, no need to panic.
NOTE 2: If you don't want your Dorm moved to the Archived threads forum, post here saying so before this guild is officially declared "re-opened."

Schematics
The new plan for the guild:
To get more new members into the guild, we can't have so many uber-mages running around Mahora Academy doing who-knows-what. So, I have a proposal;
Since the Zembudokai has become inexorably linked with this guild, as an alternate dimension, I was thinking of turning that into a joint-RP Guild. It would be set in the alternate "Magic World" of Negima (It has a name, but I have forgotten it...); not only would it keep our uber-mages out of the new player's hair, it would be a setting much more suited for our characters, and allow them to expand even more. Since the Magic World is roughly 2/3 the size of the normal world, and it's basically a fantasy world, obviously, it would make for some great new RP opportunities. We could still have our old characters return to Mahora every once in a while, as an "omake" appearance, but still.
The original Mahora Academy in this guild would introduce only characters with either no knowledge of magic, or knowledge, but not Mages themselves. They could become mages, but would probably retire to Magic World before things got out of hand again, like last time.
Which brings me to my next point; I've decided to officially allow multiple characters; the only thing is, you can only have one character as your Main, all the others are Side characters. None of them, unless they're some sort of rival or bad guy that would only affect your Main character, can be anywhere as close to as strong as your Main. Facelift
I shall be reformatting most of the main threads, and putting the unused threads into the Old Thread Archive subforum. I shall also be redoing the main page to reflect the guild's new look; I don't know if I will change the name or not. I'm sure we can all agree that Maho Negima RP is a kind of cornerstone for us, so I am also partial to keeping it. I'm thinking I might just add a subtitle or something. Once we get that done, we will also need advertising, like banners. Recruiting
The most important thing; New members! If we had a good, balanced ratio of posts to members, we would totally be the THIRD MOST POPULAR NEGIMA GUILD ON GAIA. No joke, check for yourself.
Thus, we need Negima fans in here. This can be accomplished by sending invites to friends who might be interested, keeping an eye on the A/M/C for Negima threads, which can lead to new members, and keeping active advertising in the Guild forums. Also, flashy banners in your sig help too! If your sig is already cluttered, I'm thinking of making a thin-bar banner that won't take up much room.
Keeping the Guild active
Probably the most important thing. You will be allowed to bring in new mundane characters to this guild once it starts up again; we need good, frequent RPers to give newbies confidence in the guild, so we can get a permanent posting community here, and thus perpetual guild life. We did have one, but it was fairly selective, and eventually crashed and burned.

I feel guilty since I am mostly the one to blame for Maho Nagima's inactiveness since I was the one who initiated the time warp to Zembudokai ( crying ). So sorry Daisuke-san, but I'll help out as much as I can for the sake of the guild. We just got to finish that one last story arc in Zembudokai then we're gonna warp them back to Maho Negima RP. Care to join us so that we can get the ball rolling a bit faster?

No, you don't understand... it's not just the in activeness of here, even Zembudokai is really moving slow... it's because there are so many crazy powerful mages everywhere and they kind of overwhelm everyone else who joins...
we are all guilty of it...
so we are going to leave our uber mages in Zembudokai and kind of say that they got warped there, and that's where they gotta say or sommat...
and we are going to start over.

i know, so i'm thinking of instead of using some ubermagething which will most likely happen every time i get to use magic, i will bring in my completely original Character Augustine Harold, the normal super genius.
but before our ubermages disappear from the guild forever, i have to instigate 3 arcs to bring in some characters, including Augustine, who will be a new teacher, along with his wife Jaqueline Harold.
And due to events that have happened and their relation to our current time, the year at the academy is 2020

and just to keep pace, we will say that 25 years have passed between the "disappearance" of all these people and the time it is then. this means that unless your character was a teacher and was not warped, then you have to make a new character. oh yeah, here is the link to my deviantart account My deviantart account

Oh, I get it. SO you want us to leave our characters at Zembudokai and say that they just went there. I'm okay with that although would you guys humor me by ending their stories with a bang? How does a Seal of Twilight story arc sound?
Get this, we've already got an ongoing Twilight story arc, right? So let's just say that the characters in Zembudokai aren't powerful enough to defeat it as is, so as an alternative, they'd seal themselves inside the Zembudokai universe in order to prevent the corruption from spreading over to Mahora Academy in a timeless sleep. Sorta like when Sparda sealed his powers in the demon world but ended up also sealing himself in the end in Devil May Cry. Also, let's just say that by activating the sealing magic, the present characters in Zembudokai could sent a "piece" of themselves back at Mahora but the drawback is that 90 percent of their powers would be left back at Zembudokai and all of their memories of their other selves erased since, well, it's still us roleplaying, it's just that we're gonna use a different character, right?.
Also, since there's a magical link to Zembudokai, we should erect a memorial shrine to those who sacrificed their lives to seal the Twilight on the other side. Kinda like the FMA forbidden door thingie.
So, what do you guys think?

okay, but there are 3 arcs that we need to accomplish before that in the maho negima guild, that way i can bring peace to my character, and help explain my organization infinity character (check my deviantart account to see him)
these arcs will also bring in my character for the next part.
and the twilight does not happen until 2027, when everyone is in the university.
i also think we should make an abandoned dorms in the new start, because that will be the building that the people who disappeared lived in, and was never cleaned out

Agreed. So, as to start things off, I'm gonna post my new character in the RP thread one of these days and say that the Twilight arc in Zembudokai already happened. It's okay since there is a time discrepancy of 17 years, right? Since the guys disappeared in 2003 (Negima! series time) and now it's 2020. Right, let's get things started then.

no, the twilight accident happens in 2027 you were 16 in 2020 i was 50 in 2020.
the new mahora academy start time will be 2045, 18 years after the accident.
(just to inform you, we set the old one in 2020, to allow for 17 years to pass from the time of the book. without that time lapse, saying that no one would ever see any of the characters from the book would be statistically impossible. so you get what i am getting at. the old year 2020 was used because it fit in perfectly with the backstory of my character, and allowed time to get rid of all the characters from the book, because it would take about 14 years for any one of them to get their doctorate.)
