Coming up for sale at auction is this very rare 1964 Ford Galaxy A/FX drag car, once owned by Zachary Reynolds of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Being an A/FX Galaxy would make this car very desirable, but also included is a rare Latham axial flow supercharger induction system with quad Carter single-barrel carbs, raising the value even higher.

The best part about this car isn't for what it is, however, but for what it has...

What you are looking at is a Turbonique Rocket Drag Axle. The device is a supercharger that is connected directly to the rear differential. Once you a hit a switch, the supercharger is injected with N-Propyl Nitrate liquid rocket fuel, igniting and spining up to 92,000 RPM, adding an instant 850 hp to the rear wheels.
The concept actually has worked, and sent a basically stock VW Beetle, called the Black Widow, down the 1320 in 9.36 @ 168 mph.

The whole point of this article is to not only showcase what has the be, one of the rarest and most valuable Ford Galaxy's ever in existance, but to also showcase the most badass, awesome technology ever applied to a car, par none twisted
