I've been a member for a couple of days now and I decided to post up my art. [yeah, I can be slow at times...] I prefer drawing my own style of anime characters to other types of art, though I can attempt other medias.

This one is the profile picture I did for my brother's D&D character a couple of days ago.

This is the same character but a little doodle on the side of my geometry notes =p

I've got piles of drawings, but I don't think I'll be able to scan 'em all anyways smile

Nice work...(kinda makes me jealous)...I have one thing I thought looked strange The face on your first drawing seems a little off perhaps shifted a little to much to the right...Thats only my opinion I think it looks awsome none the less.

Thanks, though I sometimes draw something a bit off but I don't notice it or I do but after it's already done =p

I'm going to try to upload some other drawings later, but I'm going to be gone all next week on our eighth grade trip to DC, so I wo't be on then >.>

I love the character design but I do have to agree about the face and also his limbs and feet seem too small for the rest of his body.

-.- Always the critics, hm? Yeah, well, I'm still trying to perfect my drawing skill [i'm only in 8th grade so sue me =p] Besides, my brother's D&D character is nearly a foot taller than mine is, so I tried to make it as sizeable as possible [dunno if that makes sense]

Hmm.. The face.... the chin and the nose don't seem to line up well. The arms look okay, but I think the legs are too short. Because the body is quite wide, the legs need to be longer. It's just cause it's a guy! >.<

His arms are too thin for such a big chest, so the proportions are a little off.
Since you're so young, you still have some room for improvement!

I look forward to it!

Also, to get better faster, also work on drawing real things. Like a cup, or a shoe. Anything.
It gives you a sense of depth and point of view. That stuff would really help with what you do. Also draw lots of photographs of real people. That will help you out with human proportions.

Gosh, you like criticizing every little thing, now don't ya? [not saying it's bad or anything, though]

The body isn't very wide, it's just the shirt I made loose-fitting but I don't think it really matters anyhow. *sigh* And the other picture I drew of Rimuel probably looked more, erm, proportional though I liked this stance better.
Yeah, well I was trying out a newish version of drawing when I drew him so it turned out a bit different than my other pictures [not doodles on notes.] Besides, it's a little hard when you're given eye/hair color, basic hair style and clothes and weapons from your brother, but I'm just rambling on again =p Yeah, well I hope to be able to draw better soon although I've improved alot since 6th grade

I've tried drawing actual stuff--I'm okay at it [I've oil pasteled flowers twice though ^^] As for human proportions, I am getting better although I have this thing were I always look at actual people to see how different they're structure is and I try to use it for my drawings [...that sounded a bit odd, but it helps].

Hahaha, yeah.. People have told me that I am nit picky or something. Some of my friends don't like it when I talk about their pictures. Maybe I am too left-brained?(sorry if you don't understand, it's an anatomy thing)

Yeah, shirt or no, I was paying more attention to his shoulders. You can't have wide shoulders without a wide chest, unless you're anorexic or bulimic or something... But then that's still impossible because of the rib cage.

Huh..? I don't understnd what you're trying to say about what your borther gave you. Are you saying that the references that he gave you weren't very good...?

Yeah, that's good. Since 6th grade? Sweet. What grade are you now?

Yeah. But looking at people and then incorporating them into your drawings is a little different than actually drawing that person, then trying to mix that person with your drawings. But that's my opinion.

Well, with all due respect, you are. [I know that the left brain is more artsy than the right...right?]

*sigh* There's no arguing and winning with you, but yeah, I'll try to keep that in mind.

It's not that the references were good, it's just that, well, I was trying to draw some character in my brother's mind, and he's one of the stick-igure people [no offence]. It was a little hard, but whatever--it's drawn. I'm in eighth grade, I've been drawing since fourth but got [a bit] better in sixth grade. I have some of the drawings, and they are much worse than what I draw now XP

Meh, I suppose so...

I'll be leaving tomorrow morning for DC [wake up at 3, leave at 4, get at the airport at 5, and takeoff at 6:30], so I won't be on till Saturday-ish, maybe. So, because I haven't posted a new art, here's something I drew watching my [other] brother play Guitar Hero.

[I was practicing drawing wings, so it's not my best work of art, I know.]

Hahaha... Yeah.. I guess I am. Actually, the left-brain is more analytical, mathematical, and all that stuff. The right-brain is more creative and visual. I am in the middle, but more to the right. I know some super-duper good artists who can't seem to think straight sometimes (and they are younger than me!).

Err.. Sorry.. I don't mean to put you down.. I just want you to get better with understanding your mistakes. Tiny little details can make the picture good or bad? Well, depending on the detail and what kind of message you are trying to pull through.

Waahh.. Yeah. I started drawing when I was in kindergarden (you know, stick figures, horribly misshapen objects called animals and houses) and I started to get serious about it in seventh grade. Then I took a 8-month break about 2months ago. Man, I really sucked when I started drawing again. and guess what? I'm a senior in high school. Going off to some art school. I am really scared, cause I believe that I still suck.

Yep.. So.. I am sleeeepyy.. Oh noes.. I have to go to work soon... GGGAAAAHHHH

Oh, well, whatever! I was sorta close....maybe...

Nah, it's okay. But yeah, I've been getting alot better with my drawings but it's still, how do you say it... 'needs work' in some people's eyes...

Haha, yeah, I think everyone's been drawing since then, though some poeple could draw those little stick figures and boxes that are SUPPOSED to be clothes. Wonder what loser that was--*cough* oh, wait, that was me...
You're a senior, really? Wow, but your drawings don't suck! Some people are better at certain things than other people, so don't get your hopes down! [you could prob'ly draw a heck lot better than half+ the kids you know!]

Oh noes, I'm back in school crying Oh well, I have straight A's <---obviously bragging =p

the leg part is to short, its look like a dwarf characters, for proportion training, you can look in the mirror and look your own body for reference.

criticizing isnt bad things, I grew in the middle of criticizing, a hars one I think, everyone think my art was trash, they hate it, etc etc, but we must "eat" them all, in order to improove...
