No, I'm not talking about me! rofl
I mean, does some essence of Shizuka personality make you want to weep? Has some of the things she's done/said made you groan?
Well, tell all here!
Things that make me wail:
Her Naivety:
Ok...I mean come on! The girl swallows every story she's told without question! She's automatically believes Honda when he tells her that he taught Jonouchi to duel, yet when he tries to answer basic questions about the game, he hesitates, and when Otogi questions him about it, he covers Otogi's mouth and laughs really stupidly...the way people laugh when their secret is almost reveled. Surely Shizuka saw these doubtful signs?! gonk Or am I the naive one thinking this? confused
Her Over-Sensitivity:
This is the trait of Shizuka that her bashers seem to go to town on....*sigh*
But really, crying nearly every second episode? (exaggeration of course!) I think that's a leetle bit extreme....I mean, sure if your brother was about to lose a duel, you's be bummed...but running off crying? Like I said, that's a bit extreme. Then again, if you brother collapses and doesn't get up, then you have a reason to cry.
I'd eleborate on this more...but I've a massive headache...x_x
Oh, and I'm not bashing Honda or Shizuka in any way. Sorry if it seems that way! xp

Heheh, Shizuka can great on my nerves sometimes, but every YUU*GI*OU character does every once in a while. XD Yeah, I pretty much agree with you about those annoying habits of her's. She's just too innocent; makes her seem useless, even though she really isn't. One other thing is when she, Honda, and Otogi dueled that member of the Big 5... for most of that duel she was so pathetic! I just wanted to slap her and start crying! gonk Even after Honda 'died,' she just cried and couldn't do anything, leaving it all up to Otogi. I was proud of her for finding her courage and winning the duel in the end, but for most of the duel I was just like, "Come on...!" scream
Only other thing I can think of is... this one time... in the dub... it was one of the last episodes of dub YUU*GI*OU I ever saw... I don't remember what was going on at the time or where they were or anything, but all I remember is Serenity saying in the most annoying, whiny, pathetic voice, "I'm scared you guys..." and that quote just always repeats in my head, with that same terrible voice... *shivers*

Hm i do find it quite annoying when she seems to be in tears all the time over someone, and the other thing that gets me when she always says 'big brother' evil that kinda annoys me >.< but all characters we like have their faults

@Kitsune-I know what you mean! I was like, "SHIZUKA! What the hell girl?!", I was so embarrassed for her....
Hmmm...I don't remeber that quote...I remeber something like "I don't like this" though....I still heart Serenity's US voice though....but er German voice is awful! gonk
@Aimee-Yeah....she has other friends beside her bbrother.... xp

But that`s probably because i`m used to hear her german voice only ^^;
Actually i think her original voice is the best ofcourse xD
And in the french dub she doesn`t sound that bad either whee
Lol, now back to topic
I agree with you guys, she really can be annoying at times...
Especially when it comes to her obssesion with crying sweatdrop
Also she depends on Joey too much, doesn`t mean i don`t like her relationship with her brother, but when she was alone in that virtual world thingy, she was always like "Joey..where are you...help...joey...BIG BROTHER"....etc etc blabla..>.>..
She`s always depending on other people XD
Maybe that`s the reason why people think she`s a burden sad
However i do like her personality a lot though, not the sensitive part, but the kind and loving part of her 3nodding
Even if she`s a little, naive crybaby, she`s still an admirable character Kazuki Takahashi brought to life XD
Oh nos >D this doesn`t have anything to do with the topic, as well ^^;;

Her voice in the Singapore bub is TERRIBLE! It's so high-pitched I though the monitor would break! gonk
Yes, japanese rocks. I've only seen a few eps of the french dub, so I have no opinion on that really! XD
Yeah...that was soooo annoying! I was like "Serenity, just go and LOOK for you brother insead of whining from him! You're 14 not 4!"
Yeah, she's has the type of personality that makes you want to hug her! 3nodding Kazuki Takahashi must be worshipped for bring the great girl to life.

Ok, I also dislike her lack of interation with people outside the gang...
I mean, the only time she spoke to Kaiba, she yelled at him, and I've never seen her have a conversation with Mokuba or (Ryou) Bakura/(Normal) Marik and Rishido...
I think if she had communicated with other characters, her character might have expanded a bit..

True, true, but the entire YUU*GI*OU cast seems to be a bit like that. ^^;; They don't seem to like interacting with characters outside their group unless it's necessary, besides maybe Yuugi. Like you never see Bakura and Mai interacting, or Rishid coming up to them just to say "What's up?" And the only time they really interact with Kaiba in a situation that doesn't have to do with dueling is when they're insulting each other. XD;; I kind of wish all the characters would interact more. I mean, you don't exactly see Malik waltz up to Shizuka and ask her what her name is and what relation she has to the group so... yeah. XD;;
