[[ M.yranda H.alliwell ]]
"I'm not all rainbows and butterflies."
Dancing a spiral we sing unaware On faery night wings our songs fill the air Making a circle of magic and light Watched silently by the fay of the night
Our hearts full of love and our arms open wide We hold the key to the faeries delight Song in our hearts belong in the air The words of our wisdom we bring forth to share
The songs in the night As we dance 'round the flame The Fairy Nightsongs are never the same The words from our lips as we sing for the night Impart to the Fay our hearts truest sight
Sounds of the forest in sweet harmony We give the gift of our song to the faery Dancing a spiral we sing unaware The faery night wings our song fill the air

[hand in hand with my conscious] x a r r e [birth certificate identifies me as] Myranda || Prudence || Halliwell [but I‘m just happy with] Myranda, Manda, or Halliwell [please don‘t address me as] Myra, Myran, Randa (that‘s what my MOTHER calls me), “Amanda” (Because that’s just not my real name.) orrr… how about anything that I don‘t like? [rumors say] Tactless, but honest. Forgetful. Too curious. Irresponsible. Amusing. Poetic. Superficial, but serious at the same time. Mysterious and Strange. Musical. Eerily positive, but with a dark side. Bold, but shy. Multi-personalitied [just ignore them. i‘m really] a modest girl who enjoys having fun and sharing stories and happiness. [girly features give the answer] a young lady [i snort and giggle around] gentlemen. [i seemed intelligent enough, so mr. hatty placed me in] Ravenclaw [give me everything on] June 7th [and I just love being labeled as a two-face] The Twins. [I‘m a decade and 2 years old!] 12 [comin‘ to Hogwarts for my] 2nd year! I‘m so happy to come back![they raised me] Shea Lyn Graham and Oliver Michael Halliwell. But I cannot remember my father… [dad never told mum, so that means] Half magical, half muggle. [Derf is] 13 [inches in length, crafted in fine] cherry rosewood [with the heart of] phoenix tail feather [my super-fantastical beast of silver sparklies] Doe [that thing squaking in the cage is a] Pygmy Owl [who i happily gave the name of] D. O. G. Heehee. [I can‘t catch or throw anything for my life] … So… um… sports…? … Yeeah… NO. [since pictures aren‘t that useful] The first thing people regularly notice me for is the bright ginger hair sprouting from my head. You may become aware of that it’s extremely curly, something I should so graciously thank to my Ireland ancestors. It’s so difficult to keep it tame. And even when it looks 100 times better than it did before, it still looks wild. Now that I’m magical, it’s much, much, much easier to just use magic to straighten my hair. But then I have the problem of it falling down all the way past my tailbone. Sigh… honestly. When it’s all curly, I like to put it in pigtails, or I may just use magic to tone the curliness down a bit so I’ll look normal for once. I often place flowers in my hair. But once you get past that ginger mane, you’ll notice that my eyes are a very unique grey. Actually, they’re blue-grey, but you can’t see the blue until you get up really close. Otherwise, they just look like a misty grey. Especially sense they’re hidden behind black frames and glass. Yes, I wear glasses. It just adds to my nerdy-ness. My face structure is heart-shaped, with a small pointed chin. I have high cheek bones, but I‘m still a kid, so my cheeks seem full. Baby fat really is bothering. Anyway. They’re usually a flushed pink shade, since my skin has the tendency of being a bit sensitive and turn red easily, though I'm still pale. I don't tan, I burn. I also have freckles, but not a ton, where I look spotted. They’re light, and I like them that way. Some say my lips are thin, and the top being a bit wavy. My nose had been told to be a bit pointed and look, with the bridge arching uniquely. It's from my father's Irish side.
I’m actually quite tall for my age, being five foot five. My muggle doctor says that, from my parent’s genes, I may grow to be five eleven, possibly even taller than that, so I haven’t hit my growth spurt, yet. I’m a bit lanky, willowy, whatever. But I don’t look anorexic; just healthy and a bit slim, that’s all. You may notice that my left hand has a large scar running from my wrist, to the skin between my thumb and pointer‘s finger. THAT, my friend, it from a knife. My mother asked me to cut watermelon, and the knife accidentally slipped, resulting to a nasty scar. I‘ve also have a long, dark scar on the left arm, just below my elbow. That one‘s from burning myself on the oven… Frankly, I forgot what happened and how the hell my arm got in there, but it‘s there, so… yeah. I like those nail polish colors where they make an illusion. You know, how the color looks purple in the sunlight, and then to change the angle, and it looks sea green?! YEAH! Those are the best. I usually wear nail polish like that; also on my toes. My hands… well, my fingers are really long and look bony. Haha! But that’s a good thing, considering that I play the wonderful instrument of Piano. Oh, and sometimes, I can begin to speak with an Irish accent. So, just warning you! I don’t want you to think that I’m crazy, to suddenly change accents. Haha!
As for clothing… I‘m inclined to clothing that‘s unusual or unique, but still in style, you know? I‘d rather not wear something that stamps “Hi, I‘m a freak“ on my forehead. But I enjoy wearing the colors blue and pink, just because they look the best when contrasted with my hair and eyes. Oh, green, too. Stripped socks, stockings, and leggings have been weaknesses, too. Sporting skirts haven’t been my most favorable, but I’ll wear them if it looks good. Tight fitting flared jeans and a cute T-shirt that says something clever or cute are my top choices. I fancy colorful jewelry. But the one piece of jewelry that I’ll never take off is my diamond and blue crystal butterfly necklace. My mum gave it to me for my 8th birthday. It has a small silver chain, and the butterfly charm is about the size of a nickel. This necklace is my most precious possession, but not my most favorite feature on me. If you look on my right ankle, just above the bone, you‘ll see faint skin tissue that‘s darker than normal in the shape of a sideways butterfly. Butterflies have always been a great interest to me.
Many comments about my appearance tell me that I look very mystical, very exotic; magical. ... Well, that is, when I take my glasses off. A lot of people tell me I look a whole lot prettier without my glasses, like in my pictures, but I'm as blind as a bat without 'em! What am I supposed to do? Look pretty, and then look like an idiot by bumping into everything?! Shesh... I'd rather not make myself a moron, thank you very much.[shhh, story time! ;D] Oliver Halliwell, like his mother and father, was beginning to show signs of his magical abilities at the age of 4, a little bit early for the family, but they were thrilled, nonetheless. So, Oliver’s parents, Cole and Prudence Halliwell, were pleased by the fact that professor Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry had accepted their request for little Oliver to attend his school, when Oliver had turned the age of 6. However, Cole Halliwell, being fired from his job at a very low and unknown broomstick company in Dublin Ireland, was jobless, and Prudence Halliwell had been a stay at home mother. Luckily for them, a job opening for the Muggle department of the Ministry of Magic had been at high hopes for the couple and young son. By the end of that year, Cole had been hired and had been doing fine in his new occupation. The only thing that changed, however, was the decision to move from their original home, Dublin, Ireland, to busy London, England. It was a change, but a good one.
Oliver attended Hogwarts as he was to, being sorted into Ravenclaw for his wit and intelligence. He was interested in Quidditch, but was perfectly happy as a sub for the left beater position. In his 5th year, Oliver had been given the duty of a Prefect, then in his 7th year, was identified as Head Boy for the Ravenclaw house. However, throughout his years at Hogwarts, Oliver was dissatisfied with the whole magical ordeal, finding school just a bit boring, and decided that once he was finished with his schooling, the world would be his. Once he graduated, Oliver told his parents about his plans, about traveling the world, and exploring new experiences, other than magic. His parents were a bit iffy about his decision, wishing for their adult son to join in at the Ministry. But Oliver was already out the door before they could object.
For a good four years, Oliver Halliwell had traveled around the European and Asian areas, pulling in experience, and getting money from doing “odd-jobs”. Aging at the age of 22, he met a very interesting and amusing you woman at an art gallery in Poland. A muggle woman, to be exact. The two quickly got caught up into a conversation, about why they were here. The woman’s name had been Shea Graham, coming to Poland for a few weeks for a family reunion. Oliver hadn’t meant to fall in love with Shea, especially when she was a muggle woman, and was just passing through. The relationship would have surely gone down to the ground. But Oliver had been so entranced by her, he had quickly found himself dating this individual girl.
Oliver Halliwell and Shea Graham were married just a year and a half later, although the new Mrs. Halliwell was not knowledgeable about Oliver’s… abilities. And she was certainly not informed that the child that she was about to bear after 9 months of marriage would be just as strange, just as “special” as her father. Shea had noticed the strangeness of Oliver, and the bizarre events that occurred around him. Plus, his random leavings, and then coming home from nowhere, without even explaining where had had been, had engendered Shea’s suspicious of him. But not for the reasons that were true, more so on if he was cheating. But a very angry conversation and possibly divorce would not have been very helpful for the newly born Myranda Prudence Halliwell, in the very beginning of June.
Myranda had been a very… remarkable child, to say the least. The little curly redhead had gotten into EVERYTHING, from father’s ashtray to mother’s sewing scissors in the locked cabinet. Myranda had a mischievous nature, extremely smart for her young age, and had gotten herself into trouble more than 10 times an hour. It wasn’t until her 6th birthday that she had quieted down. But only for one of the most horrifying reasons for a young girl. Oliver Michael Halliwell had been murdered the night of her birthday party by an unknown serial killer. But we all know who exactly that killer might have been; if you were knowledgeable about the wizarding world. Which Shea Halliwell was not, since Oliver had kept it away from her.
Myranda had, unfortunately, blocked out all the memories of her childhood from her 6th birthday party and the previous years. She went into a state of confusion and depression. Those ashtrays were never around anymore and those shiny silver scissors just lost all their brightness. Shea Halliwell had gone in a similar state, having to be prescribed anti-depressants, and having to go back into the working world as a secretary for an unknown construction company. After a year, Shea and her daughter Myranda found themselves in the care of Oliver’s mother, Prudence Halliwell, and father, Cole Halliwell. It was a large, very green area, right beside a large, very full, forest. Myranda was quickly drawn to the darkness of this mysterious forest.
On a lazy Saturday morning, Myranda decided to take a glimpse of this world beside her, venturing curiously into the thick brush and trees of the woods. Before she knew it, Myranda had been deep into the trees, the leafy floor covered with spots of sunlight. It wasn’t long until she had stumbled upon something that was very alien and strange to her… and she must have been the same to them.
Fairies were always a folklore to her, little fairytales from her mother before she went to bed, or those stories that the teachers in her school would read to them if they were good. Never in Myranda’s simple and rational mind would she have ever believed for them to be true. But as soon has her grey eyes came across a fluttering, glowing human being about the size of a small doll, flittering around a luminous tree, while others of the same were speaking to each other in their own language that was unknown to Myranda… well, those fairytales had soon become so real to her.
Myranda had eventually found her way out of the woods, after examining and “playing” with the fairies. They seemed a bit gullible and quite humorous, taking Myranda in instantly, and fluttering around excitedly. By the time she had gotten home, her mother had become worried, and about to experience an anxiety attack. After many questions, Myranda decided it better to not mention her little incident, and remain quiet, running up to her room, and beginning to think.
Through the next three years, Myranda had often visited the fairies, taught herself how to play the flute and piano, wrote, sung, and played all of her own songs, and never spoke a word about where she had been throughout the days to her parents, and neither her unknowingly magical grandparents, who found it difficult to explain their magical abilities to Shea and her daughter, since they were still wounded by Oliver’s murder, even though Myranda hadn’t shown outward about her emotions. Her grandparents, however, as Myranda’s 11th birthday neared, had gradually became anxious around her, asking Myranda strange questions like “How are you feeling?” or “Has anything strange happened to you, lately, dear?” But Myranda refrained from giving them a direct answer, telling them that she felt fine and nothing strange was going on… well, whatever was strange (aka. The fairy friends) had become normal to her.
But they were exceptionally thrilled when that letter came in through owl-post mail. Myranda, who was clueless, tried not to squeal with joy when her grandparents began to explain the many years of secrets to both her, and her mother. Shea Halliwell was a bit out of it for a good two weeks, while Myranda was jumping around happily through the house, dancing around like a fairy herself. Her grandparents soon took her to Daigon Alley to purchase her wand and school supplies, and Myranda was soon shipped off to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. But not without saying good-bye to her fairy friends, of course!
Myranda’s 1st year was enthralling, and Care of Magical Creatures had quickly became her most favorite subject, even if she either passed or excelled in all of her other classes (although, she struggled with Potions, but got by with the lowest passing grade there was. Who CAN pass that class, other than a Slytherin? Stupid Snape.) She had no interest in Quidditch. In fact, flying was another difficult class for her. Myranda had quickly developed motion sickness on her first broom ride, throwing up on Madam Hooch’s shoes as soon has her feet touched the grass. Myranda had became accustomed to spending her time outside near Hagrid’s hut, reading, only because the smell, the feel, and the vision had all reminded her of back home. Although she had many and varied friends, being quite the comedian and a nice person, a bit tactless and strange at times, but a good girl nonetheless, Myranda preferred to be alone, even if being in the company of friends was almost as satisfying. She just needed a few breaths of fresh air from time to time.
The previous summer was a wonderful one to Myranda, when she got back home in a warm embrace by her mom and grandparents’. It was a comfortable sitting at the Halliwell estate, since using magic was no longer in secrecy for Prudence and Cole Halliwell. Myranda felt very well at home, and meeting back with her little magical friends had made her even more happy. However, Myranda missed using her magic.
So, this year attending to Hogwarts school, Myranda is determined to keep on having a smiling face, create more tunes after some inspiration of the magical atmosphere, and just do whatever possible to not produce any more accidents and mischievous behavior. [magic from the heart] I‘m afraid I snort and giggle a lot, trip on air, misunderstand almost everything, loose sight as to what I was doing in the first place, and chew on my thumbnail when I get nervous, which tends to be a lot. But that‘s just the beginning with all of my little habits and flaws that sometimes get me weird glances by others. My face turns red easily, and my skin is extra sensitive, so when I get embarrassed, I look more like a cherry flavored human rather than a small 12 year old girl. I also misplace everything. So I‘d advise you not to let me borrow anything that you‘re really attached to. I seem to be a magnet for accidents. Like, I‘ll get hit with a basketball (it’s a muggle sport. Muggle school P.E. wasn’t fun for me) out of no where. I break my glasses a lot… and being a witch just means that I can fix them whenever I want to, because I’m MAGIC! … Yeah, sorry. I’m so “un-cool”.
And that means I get excited easily. You could sometimes see me with a broad, cheeky grin, jumping up and down like a child in a candy shop whenever I like something. I‘m spontaneous, and I become really, really bored easily. Same as being nervous. I bite my bottom lip a lot, so there may be some scars there, and my thumb nail as always been a favorite of my teeth. Sigh… I can‘t sit down mentally for one second. I just have to be up and everywhere! Which may explain why I tend to flit around from group of friends to another group of friends. Usually I‘m overwhelmingly talkative, mostly about random stuff, though, and I ramble on about things that may sometimes not make any sense to normal people. But I seems right to me in my mind!
Myranda is one of those people who sometimes from time to time speak in 3rd person… Haha. I also talk to myself a lot, so you might find me debating on whether I want vanilla or chocolate ice cream in line, with myself. Or I might ask some random person beside me for their opinion, maybe ask another person, just in case, and then end up choosing the type of ice cream that I wanted in the first place. Which is why some people may ask me if I‘m a Libra; which I‘m NOT. I was born in the beginning of June, so I am a Gemini, thank you very much. Which means some people call me two-faced; when have I ever been THAT? Really… just because I was born under that sign, doesn‘t mean that I possess every trait and quality of it. Shesh-la-peesh. But I will say that my Rising sign is Libra. Haha.
But I DO have the curse of seeming like I have multiple personalities. I just don‘t like it when I feel like someone knows me TOO well. It just creeps me out, sorry. So sometimes I‘ll change around how I act for a few weeks. But I‘ll just end up going back to how I was before. Very confusing, I know. Remember when I said I was irresponsible? … Wait, I didn‘t say that? Oh, well, now you know. I‘m AWFULLY irresponsible. Yet I also have a responsible side to me, whether it being I’m in a serious or emotional situation, or… something else. I suppose I give some pretty good and wise advice. I’m the one who all my friends come to if they’ve got themselves in a little dilemma. Sure, I’ll help them. I give them the best suggestions I can come up with, like putting myself in their shoes, and it usually works! But I tend to not give myself the advice I give to others. Which is bad. Just so you know. Because I could sure sometimes use it.
On the lighter note, people have told me I‘m quite the comedian! I like to make people happy. Is that so hard? I‘m a bit loud, a tease, flirtatious, temperamental, absolutely hardcore (haha, not really, but it just feel so wicked to say that), I can RHYME!!, I‘ve been called a pansy before, and a bit strange, random, and insensitive. I‘m really a complicated soul, as hard as that is for me to appreciate. I like simple things. But I suppose I‘m not that simple, right?
Ah, but then there is the reason as to why mystical, magical, mindless Myranda will be sorted into the wise and clever Ravenclaw house. I may seem a bit superficial at first, and a bit “out-there“, but honestly… I know what you‘re really thinking. I understand the human mind very well, and putting myself in someone else‘s shoes just comes naturally to me. Just by your facial expressions and the tone of your voice, I‘ll understand every thought and emotion you have. But you don‘t know this. I don‘t regularly say what I think that you think, because that would just be weird… right? And I like to let people think that I knew less than what I really do. Because I probably know approximately everything about you… but you don’t know it. Hee. Heehee. I think a lot. I think quite often, actually, and daydreaming occurs to me regularly through classes and walking in between. You may catch me singing little tunes to myself as he clutch my books to my chest, smiling to myself. It’s not that I think anything is funny; I just like to smile and be happy.
Now… how do I act when I‘m angry… well, I flare my nose when I dislike something. Some people are like “Aww, how cute!” But then I just get more ticked off, and they end up with a bruise on their arm. I roll my eyes a lot, and impatient sighs are present most of the time I‘m in a fowl mood. Folding my arms, avoiding eye-contact OR mindless stares, cocked eyebrow, and a grimace that would make any person detest to come near me. Yep. Plus, I have those pessimistic moments. Which is odd, because usually I am a very positive and joyful person. But when something isn’t right or it’s too early in the morning, WOW. I switch from little miss sunshine to lady doom and gloom! I’ve been told my glares can be a little overpowering and intimidating for a little 12 year old. My mum enjoys labeling this side of me as “Amanda”, because it’s my evil twin… Haha. Don‘t worry. Right now I‘m Myranda. : D[yay] Fairies. Playing the flute and piano. Writing my own songs. Butterflies. Reading. Dr. Suess books. Astrology. Vanilla lotion. Anything sparkly and distracting. Rainbows! The color pink and light shades of blue. Confusing people with big words. (Hee. I like dictionaries.) SUGAR. Fred Weasley (mmm… heehee). Evil Laughter. (I’m just kidding, when I do it, though, I swear!) Naming inanimate objects. Lots of other stuff. [ew] NUTS (I‘m allergic.). My allergies. Nosebleeds (they happen a lot… sigh). Icky, guilty feelings. Being disliked. Being labeled as “Dependant“ (I DON‘T NEED ANYONE! I am INDEPENDENT!). Being bored (I‘d really rather die… really.) Confussiooonnn…Snobs. Being emotional (ew.) Dirt under my fingernails. BUGGGSSS. Lots of other un-likeable stuff. [RAWR] I like people to talk to, so just strike up a random conversation with me, and I‘ll do the rest. Because I‘m too shy to come near you. Surprised? That makes two of us. But if you catch me on a mischievous mood, I may just speak to you in riddles, and rhymes. I got it from the fairies. (-winks-) You may just find me skipping down the path to Hagrid‘s hut, humming a little tune I created myself… alone. I like to be alone. I like to think. Fresh air is all I need when I get angry. I keep a Dr. Suess book and my trusty astrology guide book in my school bag at all times. I keep the fairies a secret.
Why, yes... Yes, I did name my wand Derf. [ updated July 3rd ][ both pictures are (C) to 0sekhemet0 @ deviantart.com ] [navigation]

[[ I.n M.y S.ongs ]]
[ R. avenclaws ]
Name: Alanis Jensen Year: 3rd year House: Ravenclaw Relationship: somewhere along the lines of Frustration, and in between just friends and close friends. What you think of Myranda: "Sigh... Myranda's a bit too hyperactive and naive for my liking, but she can be quite the company. I appriciate it when she wants to help me, and just to stay with me when no one else does. She's strange... but in an adorable and amusing way. I'm just strange. But I'm not jealous." History, if any: Alanis met Myranda last year, being quite annoyed that a first year would just waltz up to her, and strike up a conversation. Without Alanis even knowing she was talking to her. She thought Myranda was talking to herself. Well, anyway. The small girl had grown on her, and became a little less annoying, and actually enjoyed talking to her... only the riddles were infuiating to Alanis, because it took her a few moments to understand. She thought Myranda was strange, but alright. Plot ideas: I've got some ideas. Secrettttts. Shh. Only the I and the fairies shall know! Heeheehee... hee.
Name: Jasper "Moochie" Jennings Year: 4th House: Ravenclaw Relationship: mutual friends & second glances What you think of Myranda: "Manda's great! I met her last year, and she's fantastic! Really fun to be around...she's just got a sort of...sparkle about her or something...She's cute too, but I guess a bit young for me, eh? Haha..." History, if any: Last year, when Myranda was sorted, Moochie was one of the first people to befriend her. They're sort of kindred spirits, both a little wild, in different ways. They're not the best of friends, but they do like to be around each other, and have good conversations. Plot ideas: I dunno...got anything?
[ G. ryffindors ]
Name: Fidelious Violino (Fig!) Year: 3rd year House: Gryffindor Relationship: taking second glances and acquaintances What you think of Myranda: "Myranda is quite a very interesting girl; she is very... erm- hyper! Yeah, yeah. But she is a bit out there, and has just the craziest personality. I have to admit that her enthusiasm is very attractive. But just a little bit overwhelming. <: D" History, if any: Fig wasn't aware of Myranda until she striked up a random conversation with him outside on the grounds when he least expected it. Her randomness and endless questions were certianly entertaining, and yet even Fig was getting annoyed with her over-positive attitude. Plot ideas: Uhhmm... Hm.
[ H. ufflepuffs ]
Name: Elvis Barrett McKay Year: 3rd House: Hufflepuff Relationship: second glances // acquaintances What you think of Myranda: "She's that cute 2nd year Ravenclaw, right? With the curly red hair? Haha, she's great! She seems like, a little ditsy or something, but in a good way! A way that makes her her. Quite a personality." History, if any: For some odd reason, every time he passes her in the halls, Myranda is giggling. He thinks it's kind of strange, but cute in her own way. Other than that, they've gone to Hogwarts together for a year already, but they're in different houses. Plot ideas: I think they could balance each other out pretty well. But then again, who knows? Maybe she'll get annoying to him, or competitive with some of the other girls who like him or something? I dunno.
[ S. lytherins ]
Name: Zaccheus Dane Year: 3 House: Slytherin Relationship: Mutual Loathe What you think of Myranda: "The one who's obsessed with pixies or something? She's the worst kind of person there is. All of her questions were part of the reason last year was so miserable. Why the hell was she so persistent anyway? At least she finally shut up. Too late." History, if any: She's essentially the reason why his parents forced so much on him over the summer. Between extra therapy sessions and trips to his father's work, he blames her ceaseless questions entirely. Even though, really, it isn't her fault. His interaction with her basically consisted of the constant repetition of an interrogation session followed by complete and utter silence. Plot ideas: Myranda is one of the few that he can't even stand to be in the same room with. I think there is plenty that can come out of that. >D
