This small two bedroom apartment is home to a wide variety of critters, with one room housing Sir Cal and sometimes Argento (Chris's Gimpi) and the other bedroom housing Chris Talespinner, and Donovan Yuhara who recently moved in.
The entrance to the apartment is right next to the kitchen, one passes by it on the way in. The kitchen is fully stocked, the fridge kept full of ale and food that Excalibur makes sure is in there. There's a stove, microwave, sink and fridge with some counter space. Chris keeps it clean, but Excalibur does use it a bit more often than she does.
There's also a kitchen table with chairs sitting a little ways between the living room and kitchen. Two chairs typically are around it, the other two in Sir Cal's room until needed.
The main room has a couch, some crates for tables and chairs as well as a TV. The TV is only on the weather channel, less anyone wants to fetch the remote, kept in the locked box with Chris's Death Whisper. Or so that's thought. The sofa is soft and brown and covered with pillows.
By the TV and the couch are piles of romance novels, Pirate, Celtic and some supernatural, history and music books. Anima also rests by the TV, presumably to plug in with it and feed off its airwaves? o.O
There is a balcony, a short one though, with glass doors that lead to it and it overlooks a park nearby. Quite nice for her as the sun touches it in the mornings, as well as seeping through her own bedroom window as well.
Her bedroom now has a bed in it with blue sheets, pillowcases and is quite comfy. The room has sheet music scattered about, many hanging on a wall. there's a porcelain doll that sits in a corner with other gifts received from the bard's first Christmas. The two ornaments she received rest on the TV, one of herself and one of her special someone. There's also many bookcases in her room and books on the floors too.
There is a short hallway past the living room which leads to the Sir Cal's room, the bathroom and the final door at the end is Chris's room. Easiest to tell because its usually open with the music sheets scattered about. Sir Cal sleeps in a hammock.
She's picked up various items and critters along the way and their positions are as follows:
[Teru Teru Bozu] - These little things hang around the house, and she sometimes carries one with her.
[Evolution items] - When they want to be, they have an animal form usually and end up sleeping on the couch, on a small bed, or with Chris in her room. If someone walks in and find a pile of items on top of Chris, it was a cuddles night. She normally does these when she's lonely.
[Dionisal] - The plant in particular isn't moving, and hangs in a corner by the large window to the small balcony. Gets plenty of sun and is rather well behaved so long as Chris sings to it once in a while. Wouldn't recommend going near that without an offering of water or some small dead vermin. It was useful for bug control. Now has the company of:
[Nomy the Snail]. Its kinda symbiotic.
[Death Whisper] - Still stuck in a lock box. Wanna do something? Open it and find out. D8
[Weapons] - Chris's Whip and sword are stored... wherever they fall usually. Sometimes on a counter, sometimes to the side of the TV.
[Books] - Scattered about romance novels and fantasy books, as well as books on culture and history, and other topics. Her horde begins. Romance novels primarily are made up of with Pirate romance novels and celtic romance novels. A few Gypsy novels are scattered amongst them.

At some point in time, this appears on the wall just before the hallway to her room begins, and there's a note beside it. --April 22nd, 2008-- Chris didn't go over to Lady Katiana's that night. She went right home. She couldn't think of where else to go...and she wanted to go somewhere away from everyone. Not even Lady Katiana could help her now with this. She sat down on the couch after closing and locking the door behind her. She curled up, in a little ball like shape and started to cry. Since she got back from Verbabonc, she'd had all kinds of bad things...odd things...sad things happen. Even the bard had a breaking point...and she just found what it was. Lacking wisdom and common sense was really hurting the bard now. She wouldn't be leaving the apartment for several days. She really needed a hug.

Chris returned home from work early. They had told her lovingly to go home and rest, as it looked like she needed it. And she did. She turned on the weather channel when she got home and lay down on the couch. Nothing was going right it seemed since she got back from Verbabonc. She was having to defend herself and Sir Donovan right now, she didn't like doing that. It wasn't as if she knew why he was doing some of the things he was doing, she was sick of it.
She hated the computer, hated it. They tried to teach her to use it and she nearly released a virus onto the computer without knowing it. Internet links were weird. They told her if she needed to look something up on the internet, they would just find it for her, it wouldn't be any trouble.
The Weather Channel was showing the current weather and a five day forecast. Maybe those five days she shouldn't go anywhere...just stay home and rest. She felt tired. She missed Sir Donovan, she hadn't seen him in over two months now, and people were getting on her about it because of it. There was nothing she could do, and there were only so many excuses she could use for it!
She missed him. She missed Lady April. She missed Lady Aoi. She missed even Lady Infection...who...who she now...was going to have to treat...like an enemy...
She didn't understand these things. She just wanted to hug her friend once in a while. She doesn't understand...she'd hugged Lady Infection before. Not hugging her while drunk...fine, but why couldn't she hug her at all? That was all she needed! One hug...once in a while...and now...to Chris's understanding...she'd keep a holy symbol present at all times...she'd have to carry around garlic with her. She didn't want to hurt Lady Infection...but she didn't know any other way. She wasn't wise enough...she didn't have the common sense to see this.
And all she was told was to look it up. Chris...slowly was understanding that not everything could be found in books...or web pages.
What she knew when she arrived here...and upon meeting everyone at the office...was thrown out the window. It went away because it seemed like there was something different here than back home. Demons didn't attack on sight, and now she was dating one. Vampires were nicer here...at least...that's what she learned first when coming here...and now it wasn't? She didn't understand.
Lady Pie...she hadn't talked to Lady Pie in a while...maybe she would know. Understand, help her understand. The cafe...that's it...the cafe. At the very least, she might get a hug. She still needed a hug, and there was no one around to give it.

Lady Katiana had tried to see her a few hours ago, and she hadn't responded. She didn't want to pull herself off the couch, and the weather channel hadn't been turned off. There were a few dried tears on her face, but she hadn't cried in at least an hour. Which was good she supposed. She had several open cans of ale scattered about the apartment. It looked like a mess.
She didn't feel like doing anything...her mind kept thinking things over, trying to understand...and she knew she was falling short of grasping the concepts. She didn't know what to do.

--May 25th, 2008-- She arrived home and did promptly as she thought she would. She locked the dagger away in a box. Locked box and hid the key in the cupboard. She didn't want it stabbing her anytime soon. She went into her room, undoing her bodice for the night as she got herself ready for bed. Biancamella had flown onto the couch to watch a bit of the weather channel. It was the only thing Chris and her would watch, Biancamella was a little scared of the TV too. Chris changed into her night clothes and went to look at the calender. She'd been off by a month it seemed...she marked off another day that had passed by with no word from him. Not even a letter, message, anything. It'd been four months since she'd seen him last. Four months since their date. Longer than that...it had been on February 15th. She wished she'd spent more time with him then...she hadn't known how much she really needed to make her time with him to last. She pulled out some sheet music and started practicing singing the Bonny Swans, a song she'd found here. Sad song but beautiful. It was sure to impress her professors at the college. She smiled. She just had to keep herself busy, that's all. She had her friends still and that was what was important, right? She just missed him. She wiped her eyes and put down the music. She wasn't crying...she was stronger than that. She went out into the living room to join Biancamella for a while. "Maybe... maybe I should go home...and try to find Grandmother..." she said. "Its been a while since I've seen her...maybe she can tell me how he's doing..." "Its your choice Lady Chris," the fae said. "I don't blame you for wanting to do that though. Scrying does have its uses..." She reached out and hugged the bard. "Thanks Biancamella," she said. "I think I will. I'll let the others know tomorrow...I just...I just have to know he's still alive and all, you know? At least that. Though I haven't...haven't gone home in such a long time...I don't know if I'd be welcome back." "You're the one who said that Rhennee never forget their kin," she pointed out. "Good point," Chris replied and curled up on the couch. She was too tired to shower right now. "I miss him a lot..." Biancamella got a blanket and drapped it over her. Chris got lonely a lot even though she kept trying not to let it get to her. Four months was a long time. "It'll be all right. Everything'll be sweet in the end.""So everyone says," she said. "...when...when I see him again...if he's alive...I'm not gonna let him go for a really long while, k? Not at all." "Can't blame you," came the reply. "You should get some sleep Lady Chris...I'm sure he's fine. And misses you a lot too." "I win the I miss you more game though," she said and curled up on the couch. Biancamella's smell and the music on the TV was soothing. It helped her sleep. "I love you Sir Donovan..." And with those words she drifted to sleep, a single tear falling onto the couch, one Biancamella was quick to wipe away.

She came home to change before she'd be heading to the office. Biancamella was already there. She didn't much feel like wearing her normal bard clothes tonight. She'd throw something simple together.

--May 30th, 2008-- "She really has nothing in this world," Excalibur said, flying around, cleaning and straightening up, the late night snack on the stove. Chris, his charge, was out in the park practicing her music. She had her exams up, and though it was obvious that he was unwelcome, he ignored it and continued on as he would. She still had no bed of her own. Well, he didn't either but he didn't truly need one. He'd set up a hammock in his room and that would suit him and his wings just fine. The Eirynes looked into her room, walls lined with music and papers. "No pictures...that's ... almost sad..." He shook his head and dusted off the TV and did the dishes. He was making sure she ate well, though she was talking of going home to train for a little bit. He'd probably go with her, depending on where she went. He was mostly supposed to protect her in this world. Being a cleric, he was able to heal her, raise her, keep an eye on her at all times. It was beneficial if he was close, but she didn't like him around at all. Nevermind that he was taking care of her. Rather ungrateful. Then again, he couldn't see past the fact he'd made a bad first impression and that was doing it. And he continued to act, and not apologize. He probably was going to get a punch, kick or slap from a few more people, but he'd do what was needed. Dalt had sent him to do a job after all and that was that.

He went out to the Balcony and looked out on her, hearing the soft music of her lyre.
"Well...Physical possessions anyways. She does still need a bed," he mused. "Bedroll can't be comfortable...especially because she's not on the rode..." He smirked. "Seems to have well enough in everything else though, friends, boyfriend not yet lover." He rested a hand on his hip proudly. "And me of course!" He flipped some hair over his shoulder. "Because I know I'm important. Oh yes."
He sensed the music stopping and saw her start walking back towards the building. "She can't even see how much dragon blood she really has in her. Pity. Its a good amount...but something is off about it...it'll need to be fixed I bet..." He made his way back inside, just as he heard her opening the door and coming back in. She didn't say hello to him, instead was talking with that little pink fairy. She tended to the odd flowering plant she'd managed to find somewhere and made sure the lock box was locked. Apparently she found a cursed dagger, and didn't want to deal with it.
"Welcome back little bard!" he said.
"..." She just glared at him.
"I made you some food, eat up," he said. He could eat, but being an outsider, he didn't have to really.
"Food?" she asked. "Oh..." She looked at the prepared dish. Then she looked back at him. "I'm not hungry...I'm going to bed."
His face dropped. Not hungry for the wonderful snack he prepared for her? Ungrateful little bard. She'd been out there singing and practicing so hard...she wasn't hungry at all?
"Well fine then, don't eat it...go to bed, see if I care!" he said and stormed off towards his own bedroom. He did have his pride. He really did care but he wasn't going to show it. He slammed the door behind him. Time for sleep, though he really didn't need to, he liked being able to recover his spells. He'd talk with Dalt in the morning again. Was it really necessary for him to be here? She didn't want protection, he didn't even know how the Donovan person felt yet 'bout it. He collapsed on his hammock and went straight to sleep.
Outside though, Chris and Biancamella were eying up the food. She took a small piece of it with her into her bedroom, and shut the door behind her. A few minutes later, Biancamella flew out of the bedroom, grabbed the dish and brought it back into the bedroom. It was good.

--Saturday, June 7th, 2008-- Chris was home though she couldn't get to sleep for the life of her this weekend. She was too worried about Lady Katiana being back home as the end was coming, how she was going to get Sir Cal out of the apartment and when Sir Donovan and her would be having the second date, when he would be singing for her too, but mostly for when Lady Katiana would be returning. She hoped she would be returning alive.

(Practice post)
Chris came home from work, pretty tired. She was greeted with some cupcakes on the table and a tinging star waving, well, dancing at her from the couch as it watched the weather channel. And then it settled down. From behind a wall, coming the way of Chris's bedroom, a small lump of grey with an injured leg, bandaged head, one eye seemed to be missing, all kinds of things wrong with it really, started limping towards her. Its wings waved feebly at her and she knelt down to accept the little one into her arms.
"Hello Gimpi," she said, picking up the little creature, who immediately snuggled close to her.
"Cis! Ome!" it said. "Colate?"
"Chocolate? Of course," she said, pulling out a piece of chocolate from the cabinet and giving it to Gimpi. He nibbled on it and swallowed.
"Tak," he said. "Stay no go?" She smiled and nodded.
"I'm not leaving again tonight, promise," she said. The shy little gimpi cooed happily as she pet it, its wings flapping feebly in joy.

Chris returned home, Gimpi and Biancamella were sleeping, like she'd imagined they would be. Fallen however was still by her side. "I look sad still don't I?" she asked, making her way over to the couch. She sat down on it.
"Its all right. I'm... adjusting. For some reason...I can't... I can't feel the music here. My heart hasn't been in it, I haven't felt like singing. I know Sir Donovan wants to take me to a Karaoke bar, but I don't know if I can," she said. Chris hung her head and crossed her legs on the couch. Fallen Wish fell into her lap. "I don't feel it. The magic, the music...I can sing well enough...but I don't feel it. I think there's something wrong with me."
It looked up at her and cooed, and then started nuzzling closer to her. "Its silly...because here is my home now, isn't it? But its changed now. I suppose I've changed too. I've had to. If I want to live here...but...is here... really home anymore?" she asked this more to herself than to the Fallen Wish in her lap. "I can't make a living as a bard here. And working as a librarian...will only take me so far. I don't know what to do." She looked at the TV, it was playing the weather channel, the only one she'd watch, the only one she knew. "My music...isn't the music here. I doubt it will be."
"I can't sing as I have been singing...but I want to be here... for him... I promised I wouldn't leave him alone Fallen. But what am I really doing here? I suppose...it'll just take me a while to figure that out. Me... acting like this. Something must be wrong with me."
They hadn't even finished in Greyhawk yet damnit.

The fact that they weren't going to go there by bike was actually helpful. He needed a little time to think. He'd dressed for the club they were going to which meant by default he picked something he could move around in, but still look good. High end street clothes basically. Back home, he went to karaoke bars with friends when he needed to clear his head and remind him of what's important in life and that you dealt with everything you could as it came and took time when you needed to.
So many questions didn't have answers. And to make matters worse, some of his answers to these questions were starting to fall apart. Was he just thinking too much? Probably. Wouldn't be the first time.
His Alruna was actually being cooperative tonight, staying in astral form and out of sight as he'd heard about the incident in the office involving Darcy, Sunny and Runa. A certain part of his mind had wished it was there to witness it. Said part of mind got promptly kicked in the shins and sent on it's way as he knocked on the door to her apartment.

"Be right there!" Chris shouted, lacing up the current boot she was trying to put on. She was wearing the outfit that Lady Katiana had gotten for her, pieces of it anyways. She stood up and made her way to the door.
Gimpi was watching the weather channel with a book in hand, reading through it slowly. Biancamella was a comb in Chris's hair, Fallen had turned into an earring for the night. Thing she couldn't shake was Anima... which was rolling around following her... and watching her always.
She still had the wound on her neck, but at least it had healed to the point where she didn't feel anymore pain with it. Trying to hide it would've meant wearing a scarf the whole night, so she just wore her blue bodice piece buttoned up a ways (which did mean, yes, no bra 8D). The whole of her outfit was form fitting and the skirt preferred to the pants she'd seen... and the other laceback skirt that had been at the top of the package.
She opened up the door and smiled when she saw Sir Donovan. He got a hug. 8D "Hee. Good to see you Sir Donovan!" she said. "You look good tonight!"
And the Anima was watching. It was worse than the kokeshi Sir Donovan had. >> Simply because it was one eye, and it was a ball, and they didn't know what the hell it did. xd
