Icarus looked around, fluffing himself up against the cool breeze. The cliff side was beautiful. So beautiful, in fact, that the young raptor felt only the slightest twinge of remorse at having left his tiny home tribe in the northern forests to see it. Despite his fiery coloration, he felt a warm affinity with the calming seas, although he despised sandy shorelines. Hence the cliffs. High, majestic, and utterly sand-less.
Ah yes, lovely.
All except for the nagging, noisy sound of his stomach eating itself. He finally pulled himself away from the cliffs to forage for berries and the small creatures found nibbling along their roots. ( Hnn, I wonder if protos are herbivores, carnivores, or omnivores? )

Sitara WAS enjoying how today was going. She had found a nice sized cave for herself near the forest edge and while scouting the area had found an abundance of food not far off in a grassy area east of the forest.
"There's so many nesting birds here I should be well set to start a family" The thought lingered a bit while she threw grass on the cave floor for her bed.
She wasn't use to being alone but she knew that now wasn't the time to be scared finding a life mate was top priority and being her age it was time.
Sitara walked out of the cave entrance and ducked a bit to get out. The day was beautiful and the breeze from the cliffs were nice
"Strangely I do love how the air smells out this way..." [well what I know raptors were carnivores but I'm not sure with these guys xd I'm just gonna stick with small mammles/birds/eggs till I know!]

( Yeah, I was thinking that raptors are carnivores, but birds are omnivores, so... yeah X3 )
Icarus skidded to a halt, his jaws snapping closed only millimeters away from his tiny prey. It ran, then paused, perched atop a rock a few feet from him, its big black eyes laughing above its tiny twitching nose.
He wasn't used to these creatures. They had strong hind legs, and were amazingly agile for their small sizes. Still, he laughed at himself loudly, consenting defeat.
Berries were a no-show, although he was sure he'd seen some earlier, and the idea of climbing down that high cliff to catch some fish made his knees shake.
Snorting to himself, he took off quickly in a random direction, his winglets and head crest tucked back to allow the least possible wind resistance.
And suddenly, a flash of color in the high grass. Purple. Pink. Food? He willed his stomach into silence as he quietly picked his way closer, head lowered, eyes straining to catch another glimpse.
There! He sprung into the air, confident of his skills, arms wide and tail outstretched for aerial balance, and only as he was coming in for the kill did he realize...
He pulled back sharply, landing at an odd angle in a sort of painful feathery, scaly pile.

[small edit after I found out she could fly]
Sitara decided to go for a trot she wasn't too enthused on going flying today even though it was beautiful out. She had been working long and hard on her new home.
Her stomach grumbled "Well!...I should really go find me a nice snack.... and a bit more scouting around wouldn't hurt." She looked around a bit as a large flying bug buzzed by.
"I'll head that way I guess!"
She proceeded to head south along the trees edge towards the tall grass. After a mixture of walking and gliding she had reached the grassy area. She got startled as a couple of small birds flutter up. She thought of going after them but she is too tired now to even attempt.
"Wow I'm so not liking being off on my own...I'm a nervous wreck! Maybe I shouldn't have went this far I never realized how tired I was till now." She pondered on heading back towards the trees. But changed her mind after her stomach growled again.
"Fine...you silly stomach I'll get some food then head back." She took a few steps forward in the long grass and sniffed.
"I've never smelt that before." With a confused look on her face she slowly, ever so quietly steps again and as quick as that she is knocked on her rump.
"WOAH!!! Holy flying dandygrass!!" [no clue lol!]
With a panicked look on her face she scurried to her feet and with a leap she disappeared into the grass.

Icarus lay in a heap, trying to get his bearings. A voice.
...A female's voice?
......'Dandygrass'?
He untangled himself, springing easily to his feet in a flurry of feathers, although his "prey" was already out of sight.
"So fast!" he mumbled to himself, and added, with a small bit of smugness for his species, "Must be a raptor."
"Hello?" he called out loudly, scanning the area and wincing as his voice bounced back against something. Distant caves, maybe?

Sitara dashed and dove in and out of the grass gliding very little. The grass would hide her better than taking flight till she could safely get back to her cave.
She sputtered to herself quietly "Who was that? he wasn't very nice.....frightening me like that!"saying the last bit a bit too loud. She looked around behind to see if he was around.
"Looks safe." she made her way across to the forest entrance. She decide after, that leading him to her cave was probably not a good idea. But she kinda messed that up running this way. Instead of going back into her cave she decided to climb above it and wait behind some rocks.
After a few minutes of waiting she heard him coming. She stayed hidden unsure if he was safe to approach.

Icarus lowered his nose to the ground, trotting after the light scent of the purple and pink female.
"Frightening me like that!" he heard echoed back a few times, bouncing off the same caves he thought he'd heard earlier. Only this time, they were obviously closer. In fact, if he stood on his toes, he could see them above the nearby forest.
He ran over, craning his neck to see around boulders, although the entire area was covered with her scent and made it impossible to figure out where she'd gone.
"Shoot," he whispered to himself, his stomach wailing loudly. He'd hoped to find a local pack of raptors, hopefully with a nice pile of leftovers...

Sitara's stomach growled LOUD.
"GAH! you'll give us away.." she whispered as she held her stomach -gurgle gurgle-
She peeped over the rock she was hiding around and there he was, only a few feet away just below her. As she ducked down again she knocked a small pebble loose. She heard it as it bounced and rolled down the cave top and hit the male on his noggin.
"shoot!" she hushed as she heard the male say something.
[waited long enough to see if anyone would show razz ]

(Agreed XD Let's just have fun then, lol~)
"GAH!" Icarus flailed, jumping back about a foot, sure that something had just attacked him.
...But alas, it was just a pebble.
Wait. Pebbles didn't just attack people of their own accord...
He looked skyward, and something purple flashed for a slight instant from around a boulder.
"Hey!" he yelled, scrambling up the side of the cliff and pouncing in front of the other raptor, "Gotcha!" After a brief pause, he laughed loudly to himself, "Wait, what is this... tag?!"
His stomach squealed loudly, and he grimaced, giving the purple female a pitiful, I-could-eat-a-mammoth look, "Got any grub to spare, sweet cheeks? I swear, my stomach is starting to eat itself!"

Sitara stared at him in shock. "SWEET CHEEKS!? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE....BUB!"
Sitara inched away a bit to give herself a bit of room from the "too close for comfort male"
"I don't actually have any food either. I WAS out hunting till you startled the day lights out of me!"
Her tummy rumbled crazy loud.
"Well you don't seem very dangerous that's for sure now that you don't have a foolish 'I'm gonna getcha face' " she said irritatedly. She swat at a fly as it passed near her face and blinked some while staring at the male some more.
"Well I guess I shouldn't be rude; that's not like me." she mumbles some then says "I'm Sitara and you are?"

Off in the distance would be the sounds of a fresh kill. The screeching of the prey as the mighty microraptor claimed it's meal and gave a winning roar. Severin was, like many micros in the area, starving.
Grabbing the fresh meat with his claws, the older male started to drag the kill to a more secure location. He needed to make sure he'd have no uninvited guests.... Though as he began to relocate his meal, he noticed the younger raptors in what was, a game of chase? No, the female looked is if she was feeling for her life, the male hungry.
Sighing, the man gripped his capture and quickly started in their direction. It was easy enough for a trained man to follow their scent right up to the cave. If luck would be on his side he'd be able to exchange the meat for the female should she be in any danger.
"Hey!" He called out to the pair, standing with a confident air about him. "I've got food." Surely that would bring anyone inside that was hungry out.( I hope you don't mind me finally jumping in. I was obviously busy with things though I'd like to join if that's alright! )

Sitara peered down from above at the "new male" below with a bewildered look on her face.
"Woah where did you come from?!" She was taken back by all the testerone on the air all of a sudden. One minute here she is all alone and now there are two males in HER area. Shifting her position she thinks "well this day is just getting better and better..."
[so how much older is Severin to ours Feathers?]

Icarus' face fell at the sound of the female's stomach. His cheeks were tinged red from having scared her so badly -thank goodness for his red coloring!- and he was just about to give his name in return when a new scent passed by on the breeze.
Another male.
An older raptor, who stank of experience. And he was close.
It sent a shiver up Icarus' spine, and he jumped slightly when the new raptor's voice pierced the air. This was it. He'd entered into another male's territory. His father had told him about the dangers, and now he was probably going to be gutted ali-
..Wait, did he say "food"?
"Food what? Where?!" Icarus scrambled down the rocky edge, finally catching a whiff of the meat, only remembering at the last moment to bow his head and pay the other male the respect he deserved.
The other male, as he'd already figured out, was older, although how much older was difficult to tell. It seemed as though life had been unkind to him, and while his eyes still held a strong spark of youth, his scarred and worn face made it difficult to guess his exact age.
Icarus suddenly felt self-conscious of his travel-worn feathers and grimy beak, which still had spots of dirt from when he'd made his ungraceful landing earlier that day. Trying to look nonchalant, he ran dusted his beak off quickly and ran some of his more eye-catching feathers through his beak, cleaning them as best he could in the shortest amount of time possible, his eyes darting between the powerful-looking male and the corpse at his feet.

Sitara couldn't believe what she was seeing as she watched the red male scramble down the hill side. Was this a trap she wondered? he doesn't seem very smart.
"Well I guess you can tell where his mind lies...In his stomach" she muttered.
Her stomach growled once more as the small breeze tickled her nose with the fresh kill. She debated with herself on what to do next.
"I'll stay up here I think till I know if it's safe to approach," she thought. The other male looked like he's been though a lot. She looked back to the red male. "What is he doing?? cleaning himself?? this is too funny" she snickered quietly. "He is kinda cute" She stared as he tidied up. "stop thinking that!" She tapped her foot nervously.

Severin stood there with that clam expression on his face, though he did blink at the other male. "Boy... I'm no dinner date. Stop preening yourself and just eat. You'll only get messy again anyway, don't you have any brains?" He gruffed, shifting his attention from the strange young male to the woman inside.
"There's no need to fear him, nor I. I simply came because I thought he was chasing you with ill intent." Severin explained, staring into the cave.
He fell silent for a short moment as he thought about what he had seen. Having an idea of the situation, he dropped his head down to whisper to the male. "If you're trying to court the female... Take the meat in to her. Don't eat it all.... You seem the type to be a bottomless pit." Rude, yes.
Straightening himself, he turned to leave the two alone. There was no need for him to interfere anymore.
