Wesley walked into the bar and looked around. There wasn't very many people tonight. Though it was still early. He slowly wandered over to the bartender and sat down. He asked for a Jack Daniel's in the way he liked it and put his arms on the bar counter. Cupping his hands together he thought about going to the hotel tomorrow and getting his coat. Though he didn't want to run into Gunn. He knew it would end in a fight if not worse. Though what Wesley didn't know was Gunn was right there in the bar with him. He hadn't seen him when he walked in.

It didn't take long for Gunn to spot Wesley and he confronted him from the first sight without even thinking. "Hey Wesley." Gunn said walking up behind him obviously angery. "Why'd you tell Fred she couldn't trust me. She came home and started saying she couldn't and I know you had to have done it. You took her well she was weak and filled her head with all of those lies." He said not drunk so this anger was real.

Wesley closed his eyes he hadn't wanted this. Especially not right now. He turned in his seat to face Gunn. He kept calm, he wasn't going to let this get out of control. "I never told her any of that." He said honestly. But he knew Gunn. He was not going to take that as and answer. "Look Gunn she came to me because she was being possessed by a demon. All I did was help her and drop her off this morning. I never told her she couldn't trust you... In fact I told her the opposite of that." Wesley looked confused. Had what he said not come out in the right words?

"Oh really? You've been trying to break us up since Fred chose me over you, all the sudden you decide that Fred should stay with me? I don't think that's very belivable." Gunn said letting his hate for Wesley now slip into his eyes. "Then where'd she get those ideas? All the sudden she gets the idea she can't trust me and the night before the only one she saw was you!" He said a little more loudly. "You just couldn't take the fact that she wanted me over you, so well she's weak you fill her head with all these thoughts that she can't trust me. Sounds like something you'd do, after all you did steal a baby."

"I was trying to protect Connor. I didn't intend for any of that to happen! But none of you care to hear all sides of the story. Not that you listen anyway. I told you the truth. I didn't tell her any of that. I wanted her to be happy so I let her go." Wesley was trying to put a lid on his anger. "I asked her this morning if you to were getting along ok. Do you know why I asked her that?" He didn't wait for Gunn's response. "Because I know that her coming to me is causing you problems." He looked slightly hurt.
"I only thing I am guilty of is telling her that you... You Charles are the person she needed to go to. I told her it was your job to protect her not mine. I let her go. I would never... Try and get in the way of what you have. Because it makes her happy. I don't know why she said what she said. I don't know where she even got the ideas, but it wasn't me. I care for her too much to do that and some part of me still cares about you. You were my friend. And if things were different maybe we still would have been." Wesley looked down. "So don't come over here and say I couldn't stand it. Because it seems to me I'm the only person being a man about it."

"Then why on earth would she still be wearing your coat and not want to be with me anymore. I mean come on Wesley, it's kind of a strange conicidence to have her go to you for help then suddenly want to stop seeing me. She said something about thinking there was more then there was in our relationship." He said seeming even more hurt then Wesley.

"She came to my apartment looking for me. I wasn't home when she got there so she called my phone. She said she had grabbed it before she left. I simply forgot she was still wearing it... She doesn't want to be with you anymore?" Wesley suddenly looked confused. "What? Why?" He was shocked to hear the news. "Thinking... What could she possibly be thinking? I never... Gunn you have to believe me I did not want that to happen." If this was true that meant she had been planning it. Which meant what he said to her this morning wasn't valid at all. This made him feel worse. He told her to go to Gunn with her problems but she left him. That meant now she wouldn't come to either of them anymore. And that was his fault.

"Yeah, she said something about how she thought our love was all that was their but some how it's not. Then she dumped me." He said shaking his head. "I asked her what was wrong and she wouldn't tell me..." Gunn stated pacing a bit. "I....I just...I love Fred so much, but she says she can't trust me and our loves not all their is I just don't get what's going on with her anymore and she won't tell me!" He said extremely hurt, what was going on with her all the sudden....

"I'm not sure... This doesn't sound like her at all. Why would she?" Wesley leaned back against the bar slightly. He was about as confused as Gunn. This was not something Fred would do. "What were her exact words? When she said she couldn't trust you? What did she say?"

"She said something about thinking I was going to kill her then she said something along the lines of 'I thought I was becoming a monster, and I can't trust you with that. That's what I realized today.' Then she just started telling me how she hides things and everything...." He said looking to the floor.

"Well the possession demon that was taking control of her did heighten her fears. She said a lot of things she didn't mean perhaps the effects haven't completely worn off..." That when he realized it. The only way those fears would be heighten is if she had already had them to start with. "Oh..." Suddenly it became clear to him. Fred had realized something. This didn't have to do with him at all. This had to do with her and Gunn. "Then that means she already had those fears prior to yesterday... Gunn this didn't just come up now. For her to suddenly realize something like this. It must have been going on for quite some time. And it seems it came up when the demon tried to take control of her." But then that meant. She must have had a fear about him. Because she tried to run when he was trying to save her. What was it that made her fear him?

"But how could she be afraid to trust me it doesn't make sense." Gunn said pounding his fist on the wall as he layed his head on it. "She was really happy with me when ever I saw her, she was always laughing and smalling. She didn't do anything to show fear. She was the same old regular Fred she's always been around me."

"I don't know." Wesley didn't know what to do. He had ruled out the possession demon. "I'm sorry Gunn. I don't know she never said she... I'm shocked. I would never expect this from Fred. Any of it. I thought she trusted all of this. I had no idea she felt that way. So you weren't the only one left out. She obviously doesn't trust me enough to tell me these things either... Or Angel."

"And Cordelia lost all her memories so she wouldn't know anything....." He said pacing again. "I just don't get it....Wesley I'm....I'm sorry for accusing you, you probably have nothing to do with this but. I just...I just don't know what's going on all the sudden, she's just not the Fred we all knew anymore for some reason..."

"Well I guess the major question is 'how are you going to fix this?' I'm not saying this is your fault. But she seems to think something between you two that isn't right. Perhaps you both need to just sort it out." What was he doing? Giving advice to the enemy? He should be happy they broke up. Well truth be told he was feeling a little better and worse at the same time. But why was he trying to help the man that stabbed him in the back. Was it guilt...
"It's Gunn's job to protect you not me."
"Unless she didn't want him to be." Wesley whispered to himself. That was it. She didn't want to go to Gunn. She wanted to come to him. "I'm a fool." He continued to whisper. Coming to him made her happy and he told her she couldn't do it anymore. "Oh no. I've made a mistake."
