This is a summary I used for my Book Report on twilight. I know it's il-literate quilaty, but I hope it helps..
Ahh, high school, Bella Swan MUST have it made, a mother and father who love her, all the boys falling head over heals for her at school, friends that are always at her side, unexplainable popularity, and of course a boyfriend that’s so good, it’s un-human. Here’s the twist, he isn’t.
Our protagonist, Bella Swan moves to the small, quaint town of Forks, Washington after her mother had married a younger, semi-professional baseball player. She realized how depressed it made her mother when she had to stay home with Bella, and leave her husband when he traveled, so young Bella at age 17 got her things, and left the hot, humid, heat of Phoenix, and exiled herself to the confines of the rainy, clouded town of Forks, where her father lives. There she is enrolled to Forks High School, which as she mentions is a small, small, school with less students in the whole school then in her Junior class back in Phoenix. Our protagonist describes herself as “small”, “normal looking” and “fragile some how” so it was a great surprise when she was suddenly the most popular girl in School, and caught the eyes of several boys who addend. But, as she explains to the readers “No one wants the spot light when your most likely to fall on your face”.
It is here in this dreary town of forks that Bella meets the very being that will change her life forever; Edward Cullen. Even on the first day, Bella Swan, notices how different he and his two brothers and two sisters of sorts, are to the rest of the student body. They’re pale skin, dark shadowed eyes, and extremely good looks are some features that identify them as what they are; vampires.
I’m sure your probably thinking of some horror film, where as the villain (the vampire) goes around as it pleases, draining people of their blood, with it’s fangs. If you are, you’re waaayyyyy off. The Cullens, had given up they’re “natural” food source, and instead feed on the blood of animals, so they it makes it easier to resist they blood and crave, so they could more easily blend in with the humans. After decades, and decades, all of them have almost protected ignoring the craving to a science.
That is until Edward Cullen smells Bellas blood. As he describes later in the novel, it was the most inviting, delicious blood he’s ever smelt. After his century of repelling human blood, he had thought, this one human could destroy everything, Carlisle (his father figure), Esme (mother figure) and his two “brothers” , Emmett and Jasper, and two “sisters” Rosalie, and Alice. Everything. So for this reason, he tries so hard to stay away from her.
But, Edward and Bella are naturally drawn to each other, even though it’s beyond amazing that the hunter and the hunted could love each other so fully the way they do. Through struggles, and hardship, and challenges any human relationship would never have or with stand, these two, soul-mates are in it for life or eternity.
This book, has an amazing fan base, and once you read it, you’ll never stop. It’s been compared with books like the Harry Potter series, and is such a good read, even people who HATE books, have been obsessed with this series.
