Recording Sophomore Record
Current mood: animated
After spending the first part of the year writing and recording, we are finally stepping into the studio to record our second album, "Deliverance."
A record to us is simply a snapshot of a band at that particular point in time. A lot has changed since the release of our last record which ultimately means we have changed a lot and we want that to reflect in our new proverbial photograph.
We are funding the production ourselves and Kevin, our lead singer/songwriter, will be executively producing it. Our goal is to truly show you what the real Quietdrive sound is all about. I think that during the first record we had our training wheels on and didn’t really know what we wanted. However, this new freedom that we have always dreamed of is now a reality....and we couldn’t be more excited to share the next chapter of our careers with you.
Now that you know the scoop, we are teaming up with Engineer James Harley at World Productions tomorrow to begin the adventure. We are going to have a camera up and running whenever possible so be sure to check in with us both at AP.net and our myspace page to get the latest dish and even see us recording live in the studio.
In other news...
Justin has a pretty amazing beard that makes him look like a handsome Al Borlin. I scratch it for him frequently.
Droo (our esteemed bass player) still hasn’t grown any taller and is resembling a dehydrated baby bear with scurvy that survived Chernobyl more and more each day.
As usual, Brandon is injured again with some kind of knee problem that he won’t seek help for because he is too cheap to pay a $15 co-pay at his doctor’s office. Rather, he lets it swell up to where he can’t walk and likes to tell us how much it hurts, which in turn, angers me to getting my own headache. So I guess that means he is contagious and I don’t recommend speaking with him until he gets cured.
Kevin is working tirelessly on recording ideas and he bought me lunch the other day, So that was pretty naughty on both accounts. Hazaah. If we keep eating lunches like that, he’s going to have to start rocking band Zubaz instead of skinny kid jeans. Man that would be sweet....Perhaps the new promo shot?!?!
I, Kirby, am turning 26 in a couple months and I am catching hell for being the senior citizen of the band. I think that’s a load. Although I am man enough to admit that I truly do love
-golf
-prune juice
-and have previously stated that I would absolutely wear diapers if it was socially acceptable to do so.
Anyways....that’s all for now. Stay tuned!!!
Love,
Kirby & Quietdrive
