Uh-huh, although most of what I've heard is anime music, I've heard a lot, and so I can say I liked that. I've also heard many different Japanese metal bands, and they were all good. Then again, it's very rare for me to come across a metal band I don't like... Kazami and Home Grown did this one song that I really liked though and it stood out from all the other Japanese music I've heard for some reason... it wasn't metal though... it was a really soft song and beautiful, but I can't remember what it was called now gonk ... I'll post as soon as I remember!!!

I used to love it. Not so much anymore. I guess it's because I wasn't hanging around people who liked it to so it got boring. I still have all my music files though! I do still listen to Dir en Grey every now and then. That's why I have a picture of Die on my profile.

Of course I love Japanese rock! I can't say I've heard much, but that's usually how it goes living in the US. I have to agree that it's not very popular here and it makes you feel odd for a while being the only one of your friends that listens to it, but I have to say that there's something in it that you can't get out of American bands. I can't put my finger on it...

I like the music itself, but I don't speak or understand Japanese, so that turns me off listening to it because I can't understand it.

YES. And most of what I would have put after that "yes" has already been said (though in different words) by AsianKidsRule.

I love it even though I can't understand a good bit of it!!! Also, when they sing in English their Japanese accents are sooo cool!!! xD

Chained_For_A_Wolfie ooh oh i love that one song. um caramel dansen or soemthin i dunno but yeyI see this everywhere. Because it gets attached to like... every anime on the planet, most people seem to think it's Japanese. Caramelldansen is Swedish. Spread the word. xd I listen to quite a bit of Japanese music, mostly because of anime, but I've gotten a few cds. The I've Girls and I've Sound collections generally have a nice selection, though many of those are from anime or games. I recommend Kotoko or Ali Project. A lot of people don't like the latter because they sound so different, but if you can get into it, you'll probably like it. I'm actually starting to enjoy J-rock/pop more since I'm learning the language. It makes more sense. Before, all I could go off was the vocalist's style and the instrumental.

I love japanese music! I've listened to most of the bands listed before and I could spend hours and hours talking about this topic, let me add to the list Moi dix Mois, Psycho le Cému, Unsraw, Nega, The Candy Spooky Theater and X Japan ( I could go on...) ~I'm going to an heart AN CAFE heart concert very soon so I'll tell you if the rumours about their awesome live performances are true!~

They sound great. But I don't think I've ever heard Ali Project. I'll have to listen to something of theirs. biggrin And as for my opinion on the situation as a whole, I pretty much can get into any type of Japanese music. The easiest one to catch onto me though would have to be J-pop, or J-techno(wt..does that even exist? xD) But definitely J-pop and Techno/J-techno[if it exists] are my two favorite stylings
