Rayvn Draka

Many years ago, long before the time of humans and their gods, a war raged between two very powerful families: The Trinitys' and the Drakas'. Although no one through the generations could remember its cause, those in power fueled only by hatred kept it going for the sake of personal gain. Therefore, many of both families lost their lives to what overtime had become a truely lost cause. Those in the Resistance opposed the war, challenging its cold-blooded leaders by making peace with the enemy.

But upon the birth of the newest of the Draka line, a prophet by the name of Piceriles proclaimed that a new dawn was soon to break over the warring families. In a fit of rage at this atrocious news, the cold prince Artemis had him banished from the kingdom.

The story of the new dawn begins here...

((ooc: hey Amitri how's that for a thought?))

Rayvn scanned the horizon line for any sign of life, her gentle sapphire hair dancing in the breeze. It seemed as though all she ever did anymore was stand on her balcony and gaze out into enemy territory. She was sick of the war, the suffering, and the death that surrounded her ruthless twin's actions anymore. She longed to join the Resistance, and do something to put help her suffering people. A gentle sigh escaped her lips.
"Another day in captivity while my commrades give their lives to a lost cause, what could be more noble?" she muttered darkly to herself, a sarcastic note in her quiet voice. "How has this family fallen so far from grace? We used to be known for a majesty and beauty.... Now we are only remembered by the number of lives we steal from others like us. What a poor way to live and die. I despise this place, and the people who inhabit it as well as I."

"Can you be so sure, dear sister?" the cool voice of her twin brother, Artemis Draka drawled only inches behind her. "After all, treason is a crime punishable by death. I hardly think you wish it upon yourself." He took his place by her side, his movements very casual and without respect for his companion.

"Every thing is punishable by death according to your standards, Artemis. Do not play me as the fool. I am well aware you know me better than that. I should think you would have more respect for your own twin, but I regret to say that I misjudged you. You are a ruthless brat, corrupted as the rest have become," she spat at him in a disgusted tone. Her patience couldn't handle much more of her brother's foolery.

"You are brave to speak your feelings of me so strongly, although i feel it my duty to remind you that sister or not I am still higher in status than you and may be persuaded to rid my home of you if I find you more of an annoyance than an ally. Tell me, was I wrong to keep you alive after Father died?" he growled in an impatient tone, his cold hand wrapping around Rayvn's throat threateningly.

"Not at all, brother. I rather enjoy watching you spread hatred across the land. I find it my constant companion these days." her tone was still sarcastic. She pulled his hand from her throat. "Get out of my room."

"Fine," Artemis growled back, stalking to the door, "your company does not suit me anyway." With that he slammed the door, leaving Rayvn to her thoughts once again.

(( Hey, you spelled "prophet" wrong. X] ))

Ferran Trinity stood in front of the facade of the keep she called the Loner's Court atop a white steed, staring out at the same sky as the enemy Rayvn Draka. She had just finished circling the entire keep, scanning the area for any signs of enemy life. What is this world coming to...? she muttered to her herself as she gazed up at the red-violet sky, which was indicating that dusk was soon to approach.

The world was slowly crumbling beneath the two families' feet. How had they let their hatred span so far? How could they have let those of the past control their futures? No one but those of the ancient blood knew, and to their misfortune they were long passed away. But these two families carried on their reckless hatred through the centuries.

Ferran hated this war. She wanted more than anything to assist the Resistance. She knew her eldest brother, Cyrill, could stop this war with a simple hand in peace, but she also knew that he would have none of it; he found a strange pleasure in knowing he was contributing to thousands of deaths.

She glanced out at the enemy's kingdom, but pulled her eyes away to face the now evanescencing sun. Night was falling, and quickly, too. She jumped off of her white stallion with a slight stumble, then gently lead him by the harness back to the stables.

Ferran followed the cramped, dark, winding staircase up to her bedroom. She sighed heavily as she threw herself into her window seat and stared out of the open window in front of her. She closed her eyes and chewed on the inside of her lip, letting her mind wander with the thought that the world around her might one day be at peace.

Suddenly she heard a gentle breathing in her ear. She jerked in shock, then turned, wide-eyed, to face her twin brother, Amitri.

"Amitri, what in the bloody hell-!?"User Image

[[Very nice, love. I like it. -evil grin- This is going to be fun...]]

Amitri Trinity, twin to Ferran, was standing next to her, a look of both worry and determination etched into his pale, flawless face.

"Ferran," he said firmly and grabbed her by the arm, "we need to get out of here. We are going to join the Resistance." She tried to speak, but Amitri held a finger to her lips. "Do not even try it. I know you are as sick of this war as I am. And I know I am risking everything by doing this, but this might be the only way to try and stop the war."

((Lovely, dear, I'm glad you like it. The story line and my first post took me forever to type out. My fingers were almost numb when I had finished... sweatdrop ))

---Rayvn watched the sun cast a bloody tint across the open sky. Night would be upon the world soon enough. "Perhaps if I could get away..."she thought to herself, watching the birds soar freely, something she could never hope to achieve. She closed her eyes at the thought of freedom, and felt her heart in her throat as her mind informed her of what Artemis would do if she were caught. She brushed the panic away quickly, not wishing to dwell on such morbid endings for her own life.

---Artemis paced the floor, his mind lost in thought. Around him, his commanding officers argued angrily over the next plan of attack. He sighed as the company addressed him on his opinion. "I say we send a company to the north, south, and east of their territory to drive them west. Then, I'll have my company finish them off. Easy enough, is it not?" His tone was arrogant, almost disregarding the enemy as any kind of threat.

---"I suggest an arial attack as well, my Lord, to weaken who remains for your attack," Felix Ballen, Captain of the Royal Gaurd, called out into the silence.

---"Unnecessary, Felix," Artemis replied in his calm, icy voice, "If they try to escape by air, my archers will shoot them out of the sky on a whim. Do not doubt me, Felix, I assure you I am no fool."

---"Yes, Lord Artemis, as you wish. I will prepare the troops for your signal." Felix bowed to his cold-hearted master. Without one word of protest, he left the room to finish his task.

---Pushing herself from the balcony, Rayvn crossed the room to her closet and grabbed her traveling cloak and longsword; they were all she needed to escape this prison. The final rays of the sun disappeared from view, covering the world in a blanket of darkness, and Rayvn grabbed her skirts as she descended from the balcony to the ground. Using the shadows as her protector, she made her way across the border and down the tunnel to Resistance headquarters. She was at a loss for breath as she entered the main cavern. "I wish to join the Resistance," she breathed just loud enough for everyone to hear. Her long, silky blue hair was windswept as she spoke, and the hem of her dress was smothered with dirt.

Ferran glared at her twin brother. "Cyrill will have our heads if he find out we're doing this," she said calmly, though her eyes were filled with subtle anger at her brother's stupidity. She didn't like to admit it, but she felt that maybe be this time his naïvity might bring some good this time around. She sighed softly, then got up and followed him to the Resistance headquarters.

Upon arrival, one could imagine the shock she felt when she came face-to-face with one of her family's sworn enemies.

"Y-You-" Ferran stammered. She couldn't manage to get any more words out. She simply continued to stare, wide-eyed, at the girl before her.User Image

Rayvn's hand instinctively went to her sword's hilt, her eyes never leaving her family's most prominent enemy. Her face remained calm, perfectly cold and beyond any recognizable emotion. Going against all better judgement, she took a quiet breath. "Lady Ferran, I see you've come to end this war as well. Tell me, are you as sick as I of all of the useless killings..?" Her eyes seemed to search the two Trinitys before her, waiting for an attack of some kind.

"M'Lady Rayvn," Ferran said in a subaudible whisper. Her bloodred eyes scanned the girl in front of her. "I would never expect you, twin to that b*****d Artemis, to want to join the Resistance." She smirked.User Image

Amitri stood in awe before the Royal. His eyes looked her up and down, examining every detail of her. What a beautiful enemy, he thought.

He cleared his throat. "Lady Rayvn, I must agree with you. This pointless war has run its course. Its end is long past due." His hand moved slowly toward the sword hanging on his side, and there it remained. He dare not make a hostile move in the shelter of the Resistance, where they were supposed to be putting an end to the war, but one can never be too careful.
