In case anyone local to the LA area is interested...Cosplayer Field Trips to the LA Fabric District (with obligatory stop at the Little Tokyo arcade!) is being planned throughout the first half of the year.
It's a good opportunity to hang out and have fun with fellow cosplayers and get cheap and/or unique fabric for upcoming costumes...so much better than paying for fabric at regular stores - the selection is huge and there are tons of specialty stores (even a whole block of trim stores!)
EDIT: The Fabric District Field Trip went to well, we hope to plan more and make this a regular thing. The target months look to be January, March and May. Details will be posted as to each meetup as soon as they are confirmed XD

Yeah it's hard to work into my work schedule but I would love to go ( I'm in the LA area and that's where I get my material for my commissions.) I know a great store for getting Good quality wools and Plaids. B.Black and Sons. LOVE THEM.

FINALLY!!! Here's the FINALIZED info: Date: March 29th.
Time: 12:30pm (meetup) 1:00pm (leave for FD)
Place: Japan Arcade on the 2nd floor of the Mitsuwa Plaza (3rd&Alameda)We'll leave 30mins open for stragglers and whatnot. Bring whomever you want the more the merrier. I would suggest that everyone actually attending this to bring refrence photos of whatever costume your buying for. I don't have an exact headcount yet, but I know for sure at the very least 4-5 people have either said they are going or are very highly likely going ... at least 3 others have expressed general interest and an "I'll try to make it"

xaouna-awww, don't worry...we hope to make this a regular thing. It used to be, but I'm guessing it was really hard to plan. I'm sure it will be going on in some form or another by the time your parent's aren't the boss of you XD
witchy_elphaba-there's a poll going on at the AX Thread which might give some sort of headcount...but as of now I know 5 people for sure are going XD. Hope you can make it! I can't wait to stock up on plaid!

So far, myself and our Demyx are going, so yeah, add two more people to your list. xD
We pretty much already have all of our fabric stuff,
But I do need to hunt down some more bead...things...for the OrgyXIII coats.
(They fell off last year)
And get some more zippers.
I'll pretty much just be there to get detail stuff and help other people out,
And...well...I've got nothing better to do on a Saturday anyway. o_O

B Black and Sons on Los Angeles and 6th. So Los angeles is your base street and 6th should be your cross. They have all kinds of fabric, zippers, tailoring supplies, happy fun goodness.mmmmmm

Can you guys believe my little sister who insisted that we all just set a concrete date/time instead of working around people's schedules is flaking out on this?! I'll be there buying HER fabric as well as mine! Honestly, you'd think she planned it this way...hmmm...
