Jensen was grazing on a hill in the middle of the herd. He flicked up his ears and lifted his head temporarily before going back to eating. So far today was boring. Nothing exciting had happened in the herd recently. He pawed at the grass and sighed. Although something HAD changed. He had become oddly interested in the females of his species when his antlers grew in and now that they were even larger, the feeling to find one had grown. Being shy and rather nervous around other's Jensen didn't really socialize. He watched and observed other's doing things. He liked it that way but lately...
There was a female that he'd seen. He didn't know her name, just that he was rather pretty. He often watched her from hilltops, after all, he had to protect the herd. He wasn't stalking her as much as building the courage to talk to her.
Staying in the shadows, he edged closer on the hill to get a better look at Tempest. She was as beatiful as ever, and he felt him self staring. He glanced away quickly and pawed at the ground restlessly. His blush easily showed through his fur as he took another step forward, pretending to graze. If only he could talk to her, introduce himself, sweep her off her hooves! Another step... This time it was a miss.
The young cops member tumbled down the hill. He let out a small bellow of surprise then landed in a sitting position, blinking his large red eyes. That was going to leave a mark. "Ow..." He muttered trying to pull himself up. Uh oh...
His ears went back as he looked toward Tempest. What if she saw?! He pulled himself up, looking sheepishly at the doe. "Uhm uh..." You're there! Say something! Anything to remove the fact that you're a complete idiot from her head.
"Uh......Hi...."
Wow, that really got her.

Tempest had grown into a fine young hind. All the awkwardness of fawnhood having left her behind. She was slender, sleek, and beautiful like many of the other hinds among the herd. But all this time, she had still remain unclaimed, despite being the daughter of the Lord and his favorite hind. She was grazing in the vicinity of many of the other females of the herd, minding her own business and just going about her day. However, the sudden tumbling and bellow from the albino Corps caused her and several other hinds around her to suddenly look up, ears turned forward in an alert fashion. Reading to bolt if need be. But it was only Jensen, who seemingly had tripped up and managed to make himself look like a fool. Tempest breathed a sigh of relief, blinking when he seemed to be speaking to her. She looked one way and then the other... yes it seemed like she was the target of his greeting. "Um... hello?" she said back, blue eyes looking him over briefly. She had seen Jensen before naturally... but she'd never really had the opportunity to talk to him or anything.

Jensen gave sheepish smiles to the other hinds before putting his ears and head down. So much for having grace. He felt her eyes on him and shifted uncomfortably. At least she greeted him back. That was an improvement.
He pulled his hoof through the dirt. "Uh um, sorry about that... I uh... fell." He jerked his head to the hill with a tiny shrug. "So uhm.... my name's Jensen... What's yours?" He asked trying as hard as he could to keep himself from rambling. He had to make up for his mistakes.

Tempest couldn't help but smile a little at his awkwardness. It was rather endearing really.... and well... she'd hardly had any attention from any male in the herd, so it was a welcome change.. even if he was making himself look like a fool. "Tempest" she replied back, "Its nice to meet you... aren't you Fell Lore's son?" After all.. there weren't very many albinos in the herd, he kind of stood out. She didn't know much about Fell Lore though other than the fact that he was the Lord before her father.. she remembered that much. She remembered the day her father became Lord of the Herd after defeating him. It was a proud day for their family.
"Are you alright? From your fall I mean.. you didn't hurt yourself?" It was quite a tumble Jensen took and while he didn't appear to be outwardly harmed, she wanted to atleast ask and make sure.

"Tempest..." He repeated committing it to memory. "That's such a pretty name..." She knew who he was! He didn't take his color into account, he didn't figure he was that different from everyone else. He lifted his head proudly and nodded his head. "Yah, son of Fell Lore and Danica..."
He blinked and looked back at the offending hill. "Oh... No I'm alright... I fell alot as a calf, M-... Dancia says I have a hard head." His bright eyes took a quick glance around. "Say uh... do you uh want to go for a walk with me?" He asked rather shyly, red flaring up under his white fur.

Tempest had to fold her ears back to hide the light blush that colored them a deeper pink on the insides. The compliment certainly flattered her. With the offer to walk with him though, the ears turned forward again and eyes glittered.
"I would love too" she said as gracefully as she could, her maw breaking into a grin. She had never been noticed by any of the young stags or bucks before, and she was rather excited that her luck seemed to be changing.

The Corps smiled at her and tilted his antlers in a direction before he started to walk. He was headed in the general direction of the lake so they could get a drink. Just an excuse to go somewhere.
"So uh..." He flicked his ears, trying to think of conversation but ever alert. "Anlanch is coming up soon..." He mentioned then turned slightly pink again. Did he go to fast? Or jump the gun? He should have said something else. "And uh, it'll be my first one, pretty cool, huh?"

Tempest followed quietly, a light smile on her face as she went. Although the hind couldn't help but blink at his choice of topic for conversation. "Yes... I suppose so. This isn't my first Anlach, but I wasn't ever claimed the last time." No stag or buck had shown any interest in her, so she had remained single that year. Perhaps she was just a bit too young yet, but she'd like to think she's old enough now.

Jensen looked over at her surprised. "Really? I'm surprised... I thought someone would I mean... you are really beatiful ..." He put his ears back, a deeper blush coursing through his fur. "... that is... I would claim you..."
He tossed his antlers nervously, pawing at the dirt a bit as they walked. That was too far. He wasn't lying but he doubted she'd like to be claimed by someone who just talked to her once and who'd fallen down a hill. Some corps he was...

Tempest suddenly stopped, looking at Jensen a bit oddly. In some ways she was flattered, but in others... his words disturbed her a bit. The hind frowned a little, "Well.. thank you... but you're not just saying that because you're desperate are you?" After all.. this was his first Anlach and granted she had been nearly desperate for someone to notice her, and still was. But she didn't want to rush into anything either... she wanted to make sure that she found the right stag... not just any stag. She wanted someone who would fight for her. Like how her father fought for her mother nearly every Anlach.

The Corps member came to a stop, ears raising. "What? No! I... I've... that is..." He turned to face her, taking a few steps back. "I... I've... Well, I've wanted to talk to you since we were fawns..." He shifted nervously, ears twitching.
"If... if you're worried... I can't fight for you... I mean... I'm a bit clumsy but I can hold my own!" He lifted his head and looked at her. "I'll fight as hard as I have to! I'll fight until I can't stand..."

Tempest blinked and twitched her ears lightly as she listened and contemplated what he said.
She smiled a little, "Well I guess we'll see when Anlach comes around, right?" After all... there were no promises to be made until then. Anlach was when she would be open for a stag to claim her, not before or after.
"You've been wanting to talk to me for that long?" she also asked. She kinda wished he'd gotten up the courage sooner. She didn't know he was even interested in her... she had thought there wasn't a single male interested in her.

He relaxed, giving a smile of his own. "Yes... We'll see then." He was relieved and happy that she hadn't thought him strange and that he hadn't frighten her off. The male started to walk again, carefull to avoid rocks and things that could easily trip him.
"Well, yes..." He answered, looking over his shoulder at her. "I wanted to but I... well, I ... didn't... know how to approach you but.... I guess falling off a hill is a way to start."
