hey guys im pretty good with my musical knowledge from metal to classic rock as we'll as classical music so if you want some new bands to listine to from any of those genre's just ask

This kinda is a hard question for me! ^_^;;
I don't really have a favourite genre... I listen lots of music... from metal to classic, and I'm really bad with genres.
It doesn't really matter to me, as long as I like the music.
so... I didn't vote in the poll, because I really couldn't chose

I have a major problem finding new power metal bands to check out... I can always find new bands for the other subgenres, but I'm kinda stuck with this one... all I've got left that I can think of is solo work.

Krad99 I have a major problem finding new power metal bands to check out... I agree with emma, I listen to lots of different music and I tend to call it all rock, because it just becomes ridiculous over-categorizing everything.

It does and it doesn't. O_O
You see, metal is generally heavier, faster, and more powerful than rock (like in nature too) so metal is like a genre of it's own (kinda) completely seperated from rock (or not). The point is, if we didn't overcategorize things, then we'd be undercategorizing them, and then no one would know the difference between Death Metal and Stoner Rock (and there is a HUGE difference). ^_^ That's what I have to say about categorizations. xD
