So my husband and I are coming upon our 5th Wedding anniversary. I want to do something special, but we have exactly no money. (8$ in the bank I think). Does anyone have any cute, romantic, or fun ideas for a cheap anniversary date, gift, or other idea?

Staying in is always a good option, especially if you have someplace to drop the kids for the evening or night and just be together. Being rid of distractions can help. Then just do whatever you wish, generally includes movies around here.

I know this was posted some time ago, but I figured I would go ahead and put in some input.
When we go somewhere for our anniversary, we tend to lean towards sporting events. Our anniversary is in July, so the main option is baseball. You can generally get tickets up in the nose bleeds for cheap, but the cost of parking and such really kills the idea when your really tight on money.
If you enjoy hockey as much as my husband and I do, it can be fun to go down to your nearest ice rink and just hang out. Watching whatever recreational league hockey (youth, high school, senior league, practice, whatever) happens to be going on at the time is an option. It's a free way to enjoy sports and it gets you out of the house for an hour or so. If free skate is the only thing going on, and yall are into skating, that's a fairly inexpensive option (especially if you already own skates).
Food is always an important thing for celebrations for us as well. It doesn't matter if it's a special dinner in, going out to a "fancy" restaurant, ordering pizza... eating together and enjoying each others company is a great thing. When you're after a relaxing intimate feel, turning the TV off and putting on some relaxing music (Frank Sinatra FTW) can go a long way.
I'm sure this is not an option for everyone, but my husband and I are really into video games. Sometimes we play games together, sometimes I ask him to play a roleplaying game while I watch him (I love the plots of roleplaying games, but I suck at playing them). Some of my fondest childhood memories revolve around playing Super Mario Bros, Contra, and Double Dragon with my brothers and cousins. I'm sure this is unusual for a girl, but if you both enjoy things like that, it's always an option.
It really all comes down to your personality and what you enjoy. I have a friend that likes playing guitar and his wife likes to sing, so spending time with that is awesome for them. Sometimes the smallest things in life are the most enjoyable.
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you've spent time together. Dedicate the day to spending time with each other, and try not to talk about anything stressful (especially finances). All the best things in life are free, anyway! ^_-
