In the world of Eragon, people use magic. (duh...) And to make the magic system easier, I'm not going to have to make magic users say the words of power. Instead, you'll simply learn the spell from a book or someone, and then use it.
Increased Physical Abilities:
Increased Speed: Every elf has this. It’s simply more speed than your normal human or dwarf.
Increased Strength: Every elf has this. It’s basically more strength than a normal human or dwarf.
Increased Sight: Every elf has this. The title speaks for itself.
Increased Hearing: Every elf has this. The title speaks for itself.
Increased Reflexes: Every elf has this. The title speaks for itself.
Increased Agility: Every elf has this. The title speaks for itself.
Super Speed: You must be powerful in magic to have this. It’s 20x more speed than an average human.
Super Strength: Same as Super Speed, you must have training to get this.
Super Agility: This makes the user able to jump and move in battle with far greater grace than any elf or human.
Time-Slow: Many Riders and elves posses this. It makes everything seem to slow down, but it’s actually that the user is moving so fast, the user has sped up their mind as well.

Increased Mental Abilities:
Telepathy: The ability to communicate with others with their minds.
Telekinesis: The ability to move ordinary objects without touching them.
Mind Barriers (level 1): Lets the user create small barriers around their minds. However, these can be easily broken through.
Mind Barriers (level 2): A medium sized mind barrier, if you will
Iron Barriers (level 3): Not many people have this ability, but whoever does can keep any drone away at will.
Mind Drone: This is what magic users do to penetrate the defenses of someone’s mind. With it they can extract information at will.

Fire Spells:
Fire Palm: Allows the user’s palm to be lit. Can sustain some damage, but usually for lighting up dark areas.
Fire Ball: Your typical fireball. One experienced with this spell can simply launch it by facing their palm towards their opponent, while an inexperienced user has to actually throw it. The size and damage done is based entirely upon the user.
Fire Dragon (level 1): Creates a dragon made of fire, and is shot at the opponent. This dragon is not rideable, but it can sustain a good amount of damage.
Fire Dragon (level 2) : Basically the same as the first fire dragon but bigger, and deals a lot more damage.
Flame Fist: Much stronger than the Fire Palm, this is for dealing damage and lighting up areas.
Flame Hailstorm: The user raises their hand to the sky, and a rain of fireballs fall onto the users opponents.
Fire Bomb: When launched at the opponent, it can explode on impact, or, if the magician is strong enough can remotely blow it up.
Walls of Flame: These are, as the name states, walls of fire. When the user makes a simple hand motion, walls of fire will race towards the opponent, trapping them or the user can ram them with the walls.
Flame Shockwave: When the user uses this spell, a huge fire blast will emanate from the user’s body, likely burning anything within a 20-ft. radius.
Rise of the Phoenix: This is the ultimate fire based spell. The user will focus most of their energy into their palms, and then slam them into the ground. Three phoenixes made completely of fire will rush towards the opponent.

Water Spells:
Water Ball: Your ordinary ball of condensed water. It can be launched or thrown much like the fireball. The size and damage done depends on the user’s ability.
Water Shield: A shield of spinning water. Mostly for frontal attacks, if the magic is distributed around the body, it can circle around the entire body.
Water Drills: These are drills that spin at an opponent, and can deal a good amount of damage.
Water Tornado: Simply as the name says. It can be angled vertically and horizontally, and be controlled.
Aquatic Breath: With this spell, the magician can breathe underwater.
Columns of Water: These are large columns of water that can be launched at an opponent. If used properly, it can dispose of fires.
Water Binding: Using a simply hand motion, water will come up and bind the opponent. It’s hard to get out of this, but one with a trained mind can do so.
Aquatic Melt: This allows the user to melt into bodies of water. From there they can travel to other bodies of water. Perfect for distracting enemies for a quick getaway.
Water Jet: A simple jet of water from the hand that can push back enemies.
Tsunami: The ultimate water based move, this is basically a huge tsunami directed at an opponent. Only true masters in this art can perform this. If used correctly and a good amount of magic is applied, it can wipe out armies and destroy small villages.

Earth Spells:
Earth Spear: A large spear made from the earth. All the user has to do is flick their wrist somewhat and a spear of earth will launch from the ground, and be hurled at the opponent.
Earth Wall: The user will stamp the ground with one foot, and a wall of earth will come up in front of them. Kind of like the water wall, if you distribute the magic around your body, the barrier will be all around you.
Deep Swamp: The user will build up magic in their hand, and slam it down onto the ground. The ground around the opponent will turn into mud and get a blackish tint. If the opponent doesn’t act quickly, they will be sucked in. If used with enough magic, it can engulf small canopies of soldiers.
Double Earth Helix: In this spell, the ground behind the user will rise up and swirl around, spinning at the opponent.
Earth Binding: The user simply makes a hand gesture and earth binds the opponent. This is harder to break out of than the water binding, because it’s more solid.
Ground Gloves: The user will punch both hands into the ground or the side of a mountain, and yank them out. The fists will be covered in earth, and will deal great damage to an opponent when hit. It’s also common for someone to use one hand.
Earth Ripple: The magician will slam their hand onto the ground, and a giant ripple will shoot out in all directions, and crushes many things in its path.
Quicksand: Similar to the Deep Swamp spell, this traps the enemy in a muddy substance. Of course, it’s quicksand, and if the opponent doesn’t act quickly, they will sink into the ground.
Boulder Bash: The user will dig their fingers into the ground, and pull up a large boulder. Then the user can throw the boulder at the opponent.
Earthquake: The most powerful Earth spell, this is exactly as the name states. The user will slam their hands into the ground, and a large earthquake will commence around them, while the user is perfectly safe on a platform. The damage that this can do is devastating, it can wipe out small armies, and destroy villages.

Wind Spells:
Single Slash: A single slash of wind. Usually transferred by a swipe of the sword, it can be done by swinging their arm in a wide arc.
Slicing Moon: Much like the Single Slash, but on a bigger scale. It’s simply the bigger version of it.
Cutting Tornado: It’s a tornado of cutting winds. Like the Water Tornado, it can be directed horizontally or vertically.
Dance of the Gale: A series of hand and foot motions send cuts of wind at an opponent, slicing them up badly.
Wind Blast: A simple gust of wind that can blow back an opponent.
Surface Skating: With this, the user can put gusts of wind at their feet, and able to move across land faster, and even go up walls.
Wind Daggers: The user will start to throw daggers made entirely of wind at their opponent. Actually, it’s easier if the user just throws real dangers, and combines them with the essence of wind.
Air Sword: The user will put their hand in the air, and wind will form around their arm, creating a kind of sword/pike. Then the user can use it to slice things.
Gasp For Air: Normally used on soldiers and commoners, a user of this can suck the air out of the person’s lungs, as a temporary distraction.
Hurricane: As the ultimate wind move, this will create a hurricane, and in turn will create regular sized tornadoes all across its diameter.
