Here is my random fact for 3/07
How and Why did 7UP get its name?
Answer: Despite its identification as a lemon-lime drink. 7UP is actually a blend of seven natural flavors. Long before any caffeine scares, 7UP was promoted as a tonic for our physical and emotion ills. When it was first created, the new drink was described as UPlifting, so the lemon-lime drink with the random 7 on the can started being promoted as 7UP and apparently it stuck with it.

Why aren't there plums in plum pudding? And why is it called pudding rather than cake?
Answer: Even though it contains flour and is as sweet and rich as any cake, plum pudding cannot be classified as a cake because it contains no leavening and is no baked but steamed. Besides flour, plum pudding cannot suet, sugar and spices and is studded with raisins and currants. In early America, both raisins and currants were referred to as 'plums' or 'plumbs'. So, since raisins were the only thing visible they called plum pudding and it stuck. Tada!

Why are there dents in the top of cowboy hats?
Answer: Early cowboy hats acquired dents by wear, and later were intentionally added because apparently a cowboy hat without a dent is "out-of-style".
