Months had passed, and with the aid of the sun's warmth burning strong, the snow was finally receading. And that in turn meant more food to find, more scents and scenery to explore. Though, admittedly, it did make the silver stag stand out more. In winter, the white snow had held some value to hiding his large frame. But now, with the browns and the greens beginning to bloom about him, he stuck out like a sore thumb. The only option now was to stay to the shades when the concern of camouflage was most important. But for now, with the wind on his side and calming him of no predators nearby, the rogue made his way through the field. Steps were calm and slow; graceful and thoughtful. This indeed was a day to relax and enjoy.

Another form had wandered out into the open, also venturing in on the premonition that predators were not in the reach of the slender deer that unlike the other was not as graceful entering. Instead his spindly legs nearly collapsed beneath him as he bounded forward, jumping from the shade of the woods to the glow of the field, allowing the sun to hit his brown back. His jade eyes darted about nervously while his ears lay flat against his head.

"Wobbly today, aren't we?" a little voice sounded above accompanied by the buzz of small wings. Soon the deer found a light weight added to his antlers and looked up, already knowing who it was.

"Shh Thrice, someone might here us," he murmured up to the bird before looking back out in the field.

It was just his luck that another stag had fallen in sight. He must have been down wind, otherwise the youth's sharp sense of smell would have pinpointed him long before, but now that his eyes locked on him, he felt his hind legs back him up a few paces. Not knowing the stag made things all the more awkward, but he wasn't unfriendly...just shy. Draven forced himself to stay put.

What was this? Ice rosed ears lifted straight up to the fresh scent, and strong neck arched in full alert. Just yonder, in the same field stood another stag. If not smaller and somewhat more on the gangly side. Alaneir stood firm and solid, his eyes piercing in the other's direction cautiously. There was no threat, but always that underlying hint of a dare in his eyes to prove his confidence. No need to be a bully, but there was also no need to be a pushover as well.

And...the male couldn't help but cant his head as the earthy stag began to speak. But not to him, or even himself. He was speaking...to a bird. Silver eyes narrowed to this oddity, but then again...he had heard of the rare occasion of speakers. Unique individuals that spoke the tongue of many creatures. But he thought they were only born in herds.

"Greetings there, stranger." Slit leggings moved him forward fluidly, but Alaneir stopped after five steps. There was still comfortable space between them.

The finicky deer was aware of the eyes of the stranger glancing over him as well as his dear friend now resting on the tines of his antlers as though they were branches. Thrice closed his beak while he watched through two beady eyes the animation of the silver tinted striped deer approach with a certain regal step to his sauntering. Draven noticed this to and hope he didn't appear a fool in front of the stranger. Judgment was something he dealt with every day of his life, but it was only sad when most of it was dealt by himself upon himself.

Bowing his head, he gave a small gesture of respect to the stranger who spoke first, asking without words the conformity of the brown stag. And he obliged with a stutter to his tone.

"H-hello," he murmured, giving a small smile. Shifting his weight, the young stag watched his fellow deer wondering if he too was a rogue or if he belonged to a nearby herd. "I-I'm sorry if I'm trespassing," gradually his voice became less timid, "I'm Draven. What is your title?"

Hmm. What an interesting individual. Though that was usually the case with younger deers, all unique in their own way. It seemed time and experiences seemed to strip and mold each individual into minor chips of each other. Like a large puzzle of life, each of them a piece with their own tales. But nevermind that, a new experience was to be met right now.

Olive eyes took in the other's features one last time before canting his head to the side. Finally pleased with the amount of information he seized in one glance. Small ears pinned back as the male politely spoke up, Alaneir giving a faint smile to his stuttering. Tight coiled neck bent as the stag shook his head in light response. "There is no concern to be held. Neither of us are within range of a herd's territory." His tail gave a small flick as he faced forward to this Draven. "I go by Alaneir. And my status is that of a rogue." No, the herd life was not for him.
