A lost ancient Egyptian city, in the middle of the desert. An ancient king guarding a fish out of water. No water within a hundred miles in any direction.

The pen scratched across the papyrus, in an elegant flowing hand. Pausing to dip in the ink well, The pen continued to write. It wrote.. "... victory was achieved thanks to the children i have allied my self with. Though they are ranging in age from 20 to 120, I'm still their elder. My good friend Ra's was assisting us as well, but he once again went after the detective. Why he wants that pretentious playboy as his Heir is beyond me. Of course i have sired many an Heir and out lived them all. We, the Legion, have agreed that for each hero, one or two of use shall guard them. I was given a choice as i was the eldest there. I chose to guard the king of Atlantis, i consider that poetic justice, for i caused that civilizations down fall. " Looking up from the papyrus scroll he was working on, Vandal Savage twisted from left to right until he heard a slight crack of his back relaxing. Setting the pen down, taking care to make sure the ink didn't drip on his scroll, Vandal got up from his desk and headed out of his writing chamber.
Walking down the Corridor, he smiled once again at the slightly faded paintings on the walls. They depicted him in battle and ruling over a civilization, but were done in the style of ancient Egypt, since that is when they were painted. Turning left down another corridor, Vandal paused before a series of monitors, each one showing a different view of the landscape out side his base. Even though there was nothing to see but sand and wind, Vandal still checked every monitor just in case. Satisfying him self that there was no immediate danger, he headed further down the corridor. Coming to a sealed door with a barred window in it, Vandal glanced in at his captive, the king of Atlantis, Aquaman. Smerking at Aquaman's prediciment, chained to a wall, in a sealed chamber deep in the desert, Vandal began to chuckle then broke in to a laugh as he walked further down the corridor to get himself something to eat.
