This band was a very important influence to me. This is the band that single-handedly got me interested in power metal. I used to have less than nothing to do a little while ago, and whenever I was bored with YouTube I'd watch google videos (that was before you would get YouTube videos in your search results in google). Anyways, there was this one Read Or Die amv that I found and the song was amazing. It was a combination of the first two songs on the Symphony Of Enchanted Lands CD (which are supposed to go together) Epicus Furor and Emerald Sword. I'm attaching the link, but that video was done incredibly well and it really gave me a love for the genre.

They formed in 1993 and were originally called Thundercross, but they achieved mainstream success after they had changed their name to Rhapsody. Their debut album, Legendary Tales, came out in 1997. They hail from Italy and their style had been power/symphonic/neo-classical/progressive metals.
Oh, and A member from the band, Luca Turilli does a lot of other stuff besides being in the band. He's done great solo work, and formed Luca Turilli's Dreamquest.
They have a very epic sound and should definately be checked out.
