It's not an anime con, but is anyone going to Comic-Con in San Diego this year? I'm volunteering to work mornings, and I'll be in costume the rest of the time (way to get in free!). I'm just interested to see if anyone else is planning to go.

I am (along with my entire cosplay group). One of our group has a sister that lives in the area - yay for free boarding ~

Cool! Free ANYTHING is always a bonus. My entire group is going this year too (Little patched kitty and I are in the same group) but we're mostly not doing matched cosplays so no one will know we're a group except when we're all together fighting over where to eat crying

Yes indeed it is. My best friend is actually torn between having us cosplay Gekiranger or Code Geass R2 for comicon, though I think we're leaning towards Code Geass so far. We generally have a tendency to cosplay matching sets. If one wants to do it, the other(s) will usually find something to match, and if one of the others wants to do something then the rest find something to go along. That's part of how we developed the bad habit of making 4 or more costumes a year xD;

I've always wanted to go to Comic Con, and I keep saying that I will, but I never do go. I always get distracted by Anime Expo and I end up forgetting about it... or being broke sweatdrop
Since both are in the same month.

We're making...more costumes total than I want to count. At least we'll be going matching sets 2 out of 3 days at A-Kon. It makes group shots a lot more...logical. So, any official word on what everybody'll be cosplaying? So far on my almost-certainly-final list it's Raven from the Richard Kirk books, Rogue from X-Men (later comics), Callista from the Star Wars books, and a male Bajoran Marquis from Star Trek (I have to have at least one crossplay xd ). I've also got a Masquerade in the works, but it's a secret. twisted

  Part of the reason we hold onto something for so long, is because we fear something so great will never happen again  i'm most likely going for just a day or 2 :/ but i'm at least going! i couldn't go the past years so i'm real excited. especially with the actors and panels this year!!

San Diego resident and I'll be going :3 I'm going to be a Mithra in Opaline from Final Fantasy XI ^.^ I'm only there on Saturday.
I'm so sad it won't be in San Diego anymore after this year... it's moving to San Fransisco.

I will be attending all 4.5 days and I'm a resident. My cosplay list hasn't been finalized, but I'll be doing mostly OCs.
Asuka, CCI won't be leaving San Diego anytime soon. The contract between Comic-Con and the San Diego Convention Center extends into at least 2011, and CCI officials have no intention of moving it anytime soon because San Diego is such a great location for it.
