Mrs Lovett walks out from back carrying a tray of pies. She gasps at seeing someone in her shop
A customer! Hello deary, can I interest you in a pie? They just came hot, fresh out the oven, but maybe you'd prefer a drink. What can I get 'ya/ Let me see, we have Gin...or Ale, oh dear we're low in the ale we are
She starts rummaging through the cupboard to find a bottle of Gin to serve the customer

"oh, um just a pie, please." she said glancing around the small shop. "I don't mean to be intrusive, but i was wondering if you needed some help around the shop here." she asked sheepishly as she sat at the booth near one of the windows.

Mrs Lovett prepared a pie onto a plate for the customer that had walked into her shop. Thinking slightly, she walked over to the table, and laid the plate on the table.
" Well, I suppose we do have a place open 'ere. The little lad named Toby usually helps out a bit too, but it wouldn't be fair to push all the work on 'im when it gets busy around here. So sure, you can help out around the shop if ya like. The more the merrier."
She took a seat opposite the girl. 'Whats yer name anyways? Can't start a job without knowin' a lil bit about you now, can we??'

"Oh, thanks so much!" Adalia said, as a smile grew across her face. "My name is Adalia Von Schwartz. My father and I just arrived here from Germany a few weeks ago." She took a small bite of pie, and her eyes lit up. "These are delicious...what's in them?" she asked before taking another bite.

Mrs. Lovett smiled wearly at the girl ahead of her, and then poured herself a glass of Gin.
"Ah well, it's an old family reciepe that's been passed down. Just made a few tweaks here and there, y'know? To attract the customers. Beforehand they could have easily passed as the worse pies in london!"
She laughed at her own joke, and then offered the bottle and a glass to Adalia.
"You sure you don't want a drink luv? Can't interest you in a glass of Gin at all?"

She accepted the glass and took a swig of Gin, then wrinkled her nose then swallowed, the drink burning her throat. Then she giggled, "I'm not much for alcohol." she said, setting her glass back on the table.
"So," she asked, after finishing her pie, "what shall i do first? Sweep the floors and tidy up the counters and shelves?" She didn't want to seem eager, but it looked like there was a quite a lot of work to be done, and she wanted to get as much done as she could before the lunch rush came in.

Mrs Lovett thought for a moment, wondering what the young girl could do around the place. She wanted to give the girl a job soon, and one where she wouldn't have to find out about the pies in the cellar.
She got up, and walked over to where a broom was leaning against a wall.
"Well, I guess for now we'll have you sweeping the floors. It might not seem like much, but the floors get awfully grubby quickly, especially when the rush arrives."
She handed the broom over.

A bell chimed as Eliza walked in. The overwhelming smell stung her eyes and hurt her nose. It was mouthwatering, yet sickly at the same time. Ah! But who cared? Food was food.....and Mary-Anne needed something before she turned to skin and bones.

Number zero of org XIII Sweeney walked downstairs, and noticed the two customers in Mrs. Lovett's shop. It was unusual, because the shop was usually empty until the evening. Eliza jumped at the sight of the barber. The she remembered, the last time she saw her dad, he was visiting that very Barber. She wondered, not on his health, but maybe did her Father leave anything of value, as he was prone to when he drunk.
"Excuse me sir," Eloza spoke very timidly. "But you haven't seen ma' old man have ya? Mr Waters, tall, slim gentlemen, always smells of drink and a bit tipsy. It's just, he said he was going to yours for a shave and never came back," Eliza spotted the face on the Barber and realised something was wrong. "Not that I'm inquiring after him. I'm better off, I weas just wondering, did he leave his coat at all? Just incase there's a bit of money in it, to keep me and ma' sister going. It's slim these days ya' know?"

Sweeney glared silently at the girl, afraid she might realize what happened to her father. But he saw the innocent expression on her face and knew she had no idea.
"Your father never showed up. If he was drunk, then maybe he's still out there somewhere. You'd better go look for him."

Adalia turned as the door bell chimed. "Oh, hello. Welcome to Mrs. Lovett's. " she said with a small smile.
