OK so I'm looking to move to Ubantu or Fluxbantu but I will need a 3D modelling program so I can keep working and hardly know much about them so they might have one but Im not sure.

I currently use 3Ds Max and was wondering If I could either:

a. Intsall or get this on Ubantu or Fluxbantu?
b. Get a very simalar program?

Thanks very Much

Oh yer I am aware that Blender, Maya and XSI works on Linux but my native format is 3Ds Max so it would be a great help. I am not sure if there is any such program like boot camp for Linux but if so this could sovle my problem

From what I understand 3D Max, sucks compared to Maya and the quality really shows. I have friends in college that had to learn how to use 3D Max, and one of them did it in Maya and the teacher could tell by how good it was.

Don't quote me on to this, but cedega might be able to run it, I kno it is mostly for running games but it works with other things aswell.

Your best bet, if you really want to emulate 3D Max (or any other program), Wine and Cross-over office would get it working. Cediga is for games, and if it can do more than games then you just lucked out.

K-3D has some similarities to Cinema4D, and Cinema4D has similarities to 3DS Max.(not sure which K-3D is actually most similar to..)
But I've not been able to use any 3D modeling program except C4D until I used K-3D, it's missing some features I'd like, but overall I like it a lot, it was easy to get into, and comes with a basic tutorial built into it(for the windows version anyways. My DSL has failed 3 times in a row every time I try to DL it for my mac.. and I haven't tried with my PC yet. NOTE: My PC runs Linux, My Server runs Windows, and my mac runs mac os, duh.)

ALSO. It's Ubuntu. Not Ubantu. Unless it got you banned for/from something.
