Well now, this was a pleasent day.
The young doe enjoyed this day very much as she wandered around the meadow like the other females would at this time of day, grazing and enjoying the sweet kiss of sunlight of her back.
Mairi was the only child to come of a coupling between Aridana and Lord Brychan from the last Anlach, a quiet and reclusive little fawn she stuck like glue to her mother's side. However as of late she'd been coming out of her shell more and more, especially with her getting older...it wouldn't be long till the young female was a hind. ...Somehow she felt like she wasn't really going to enjoy it when it came.
Still, today was peaceful and who knows what new faces it would bring.

There was one young buck who was sulking beneath the boughs of a small oak. His antlers mingling with the branched as his head was dipped low and eyes practicly glaring at the world all around him. He was an odd one... truely antisocial as he was staying near the fringes of the herd and hardly ever participating in the Corps as many his age did. He was quickly approaching the outrider age as well and didn't seem to give a hoot. His attitude was bad, for certain. A strange man thing was around his neck as well.. sun glinting off the golden bell that hung around his neck.Others were among the fields as well.. Aidan, Mairi's half brother, was busily training and learning with a group of young Corps not too far off. While their father, Brychan, stood tall and proud on the highest hill where the Home Oak lay. Selina, the daughter of Brychan and Rhomae also romped through the fields.. while some wobbly fawns and calves from the most recent Anlach stayed close to their mothers. Tempest was among the lone hinds, looking longingly at those who had young. She had wanted to be among them, but still.. no stag had claimed her as of yet.

The doe noticed her newest half siblings, still wobbly on their legs and smiled softly, she had to find some time to meet them at one point. All other things seemed all the norm to her, her half brother out training to be corps and her noble looking father over looking the herd. She sometimes worried for her father, how hard his responsibilities must be and all the other outriders that looked forward to competing against him in the hopes of becoming the new Lord.
But she shook those thoughts from her head. He was strong and he could easily cope.
However something that caught her attention now was the new face just a way's off, a buck, probably a season older than her at the most by the looks of him...and with a strange thing around his neck. ...well...she really should be starting to socialise with others her age.
She took a deep breath before making her way towards the sulking male, slowly at first to show she meant nothing malicious in her approach, but sped up a bit to close the distance. When she was a good meter or two away from him she smiled weakly.
"Uhmm...good day to you."

Red eyes watched the young doe closely as she approached him, just short of glaring. It was easy to tell that she was the Lord's daughter. He had many offspring after all, and he was the one that had lectured him a few times about his attitude and lack of responcibility. Ears pinned back and Chirin lifted his head slightly when the doe spoke to him. "What do you want?" he asked in a less than friendly manner.
However, despite his sour attitude, his testosterone did flow and he couldn't help but notice that she was pretty. He didn't show any sign of that though, and just scowled at her, a hoof stomping once in aggitation. Any other buck would probably be slobbering all over themselves that she had actually come to speak to them. Huffing lightly at that thought, Chirin shook himself, getting rid of the leaves and such that clung to his pelt. The motion causing the bell around his neck to ring cheerfully.
Brychan's attention seemed to shift in their direction as he noticed the interaction, keeping a close eye on the hostile young buck and his daughter.

At the less than wanted reply, the female quickly shrunk back a step or two, ears pinned back tighter against her skull as she watched him closely. She was at a range where she could talk to him...but still run if he try anything hostile or violent. But somehow she was confident he wouldn't.
After a few seconds she cleared her throat softly, lifting her ears as she took a none threatening pose and watched him closely.
"I only came over to offer you a good day." She said, voice still soft and passive, holding no threat towards the rough edged looking buck as she stood there watching him closely.

Chirin snorted at her reply, his expression not changing at all.. nor the tone of his voice. "What's good about it?" he asked, clearly in an irritable and grumpy manner.
He didn't make a move to chase her or anything though. He didn't really have a reason to waste the energy on trying.

Mairi was curious about his attitude, standing there and just watching him curiously before she shrugged her shoulder blade's before she watched him. A small smile came to her features as her soft emerald eyes watched him.
"Well...I could ask you what's bad about the day?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. "Because you're obviously unhappy about something, would you like to talk about it?"

She was so nice.. it was almost sickening. Most of the herd had pretty much given up on him.. especially after he had harassed the Lord's son.. although he wasn't Lord at the time.
"No" he stated pointedly. He didn't want to talk about it... not now, not ever. Chirin liked to keep his feelings to himself, "Why are you going out of your way to talk to me? There's really little point."

She watched him, blinking as he quickly made it clear that he didn't want to talk about why he was so grumpy, standing there and watching him closely. He was a grumpy thing...yet it just compelled her to know more about this strange buck.
"Why shouldn't I talk to you? There's nothing wrong with talking to somebody you want to know more about."

"Well I don't want to talk" Chirin replied irritably, turning his nose in the air slightly in a stubborn manner. He was like a little calf practicly, incredibly immature and just annoying. Getting anything out of this buck would be like pulling teeth. He didn't want anything to do with anybody, yet why he stayed in the herd was anyone's guess.

Mairi quickly stepped back a little before furrowing her brows and moving a little closer as she stood there. "You don't have to act like a calf!" She said, squareing her jaw as she looked at him. A new strength to her voice.

Chirin furrowed his brows and snorted, "I'm not a calf" he muttered, glaring, "I'm not the one making a fuss. So just go away already." The buck snorted and turned himself around so that his back end was facing her and took a few paces away before stopping and starting to graze, minding his own business and seemingly ignoring her.
